Not a glamour beach. It's an historical landmark. I lived in NYC for years and I used to take the F Train out to Coney Island...saw some things that I didn't like, but have some cherished memories, too. This is a must-see for US beach lovers. The atmosphere is nothing that can be described - you have to see that to understand...urban decay, mixed with national pride. But again, it is not glamorous. Who needs glamour, anyway? It is 5 Star all the way!!!
