well, you have to wait for the product to adjust to your face, and you have to know what youre doing with it. so lets go over the directions: apply a nickle sized diameter all over face. let it sit till it dissipates, completely wash off and PAT dry. those are key instructions if you dont do them right it will a not work or b not work to full potential. secondly It is irritating but it takes a while for your skin to get use to the chemicals, once it is your skin wont be red or bothered anymore (mine was around my nose- so annoying) and your breakouts will stop (mine did)-kevin-cary, north carolina

After the first few days of useing Phisoderm, my skin became red and cracked, and then began to tickle and burn whenever I touched it, and it stayed like this for a week. I found that if you use the cleanser while you are in the shower and make sure it ALL washes off, and then after your shower apply a lotion like Eucerin or cocoa butter to your skin, it won't dry out and it will become very soft because each time you wash you're taking off that crumy layer of skin and then replaceing it with a moisturizing lotion. It works.

dries the skin a bit, causing no breakout though

Some of you mentioned bad reactions to using this product - I think it may be because it contains Lanolin? I am very allergic to products containing Lanolin.

It made my very oily skin dry up with dry patches. Very irritating, also.

I was using a really expensive cleanser costing me about $50 dollars a bottle. I ran out of it and needed to buy a facewash. I have always had trouble with minor breakouts. I bought the product feeling confident - the new look of the bottle was appealing, plus I remember ALWAYS seeing the Phisoderm bottle on the shelf at any drugstore. By the third day of my using it the recommended twice daily, my skin began to feel dry and burned a bit. Five days later, I have broken out in a horrible rash consisting of tiny bumps all over my face, accompanied by stinging and a burning sensation worse than the one i had two short days before. It is way too strong to use twice a day, and I feel there should be some sort of a warning. HORRIBLE PRODUCT. I have never had this happen to me with any other product in my life.

I started breaking out when I was 8 years old. When I was 15 my mom bought be Phisoderm, and it has kept my skin clear, and soft, ever since. I have tried going off of it and using something else, but my acne always returns. As soon as I go back to Phisoderm, it is gone again.

If your on a budget and have oily skin, Phisoderm works. I used it for a period of three years because it was the only inexpensive cleanser that didn't leave a landmine of pimples on my face. It doesn't give you a deep clean, but it does get the makeup off, the only downside for me was that it did dry my face out.

I like Phisoderm because it cleans my skin and leaves it feeling regular. I don't need to use a moisturizer with it. It seems to be a very balanced formula. I think it is probably effective to maintain skin but I wouldn't recommend it to clear up acne. I also use it for body wash sometimes. It works well.

I found this to be too harsh if I used it everyday. Besides, it is something you have to be careful not to get in your eyes.

Foaming is always good. Sometimes it left my face a little dry. Could have a better smell.

Has questionable ingredients, but is gentle and better than soap.

I have always used this product. It is wonderful! I think it is perfect for my skin. I have oily skin and the product does not over dry or irritate. I now use it on my son.

I had a horrible experience with Phisoderm. It didn't work, first of all, and it was just bad. It left my face feeling filmy and unclean. I will never use it again.

this leaves my skin feeling like there is a film on it.
