its always sad when anyone is cut short at the height of their career. even though i wasn't the biggest fan of his comedy and only occasionaly watched his show I think the comedy world lost one of their own too early.

He shouldn't have lent all that money to people who weren't really qualified to have mortgages.  And, of course, the failure of sub-prime mortgages under his watch led to a credit market meltdown that not only made a $700 billion taxpayer bail out necessary, but it also caused destructive dynamics in overseas markets.  It was very irresponsible for him to be so reckless with other peoples' money.  Oh, wait.  This is Bernie Mac, not Freddie Mac.  Sorry, my mistake.  Never mind.  Skip it.

A man who was adept at stand-up comedy and an up and coming actor. Died way too young. RIP Bernie.

I wasn't a fan of his work but his death is certainly a cautionary tale.

Never a good thing to see someone die relatively young, but I can't say I was a big fan of his comedy or his acting.  He was competent, but uninteresting to me.

He deserves a 4, mostly for movies like MR. 3000. In his show, Jordan, his nephew was the funniest charecter actually but Bernie was OK. He really only became famous very recently, although he probably was around doing comedy for a while, so it is sad he died at the peak of his career.On the outside, he was this tough , macho bombastic guy but on the inside was a nice fellow, and that was reflected in his work. Okay America, won't you miss Bernie Mac. (PS isn't it strange that Bernie Mac and IndyMac died in the same year, along with Fredde Mac- a bad year for Macs).

It is too bad he died. he was funny. I liked his TV show the Bernie Mac show. he was my age too.did not know he had been ill earlier with lung trouble. my thoughts and prayers go to his family.

I guess I don't know who this guy is.  When I first saw the listing, I thought it was for a sandwich at McDonalds.

Its really sad and shocking to hear about Bernie Mac's passing. His publicist's made it seem like he was responding well to treatment and would have been released soon...very sad. He was a great actor and an even greater comedian. He will be missed very much, my condolensces go to his family and friends in this time of sorrow. You are all in my prayers.

Its sad to hear of Bernie Mac's passing away, especially since he was a comic who was still entertaining. It appears that he had some health issues that weren't previously made public, but his death from pneumonia is still surprising. I respected him as a comic who didn't stray from his past in his humor, but didn't have to rely on stereotypes to be funny. He could make people of any background laugh, and will definitely be missed.
