We borrowed a friends 350 for a 2 week trip to Florida a while back and it was great. It navigated us from Key West to Fort Meyers then to Marco Island (with several stops in between) perfectly. It also really saved us when we ran into a very bad thunderstorm which rained so hard we literally couldn't see the road 3 ft. ahead of us nor read any street signs, and there was nowhere to pull off. The unit told me when my upcoming turn was approaching and guided me exactly to where it was. Without this unit I would have missed the turn and would probably have gotten really lost. It was like flying at night by instrument! Oh ya, and it also found us a great restaurant in Naples too! Looking forward to getting one of my own soon.

About a year after I purchased the nuvi 350, I was wading in a river, fishing, for about 30 minutes when I suddenly remembered the GPS was in my shorts pocket. Panicking, I took it out and tried to turn it on. Nothing. I was heartbroken-- it's definitely my favorite gadget -- I use it all the time to help me find new fishing spots and I can't afford to replace it right now. Well, I got it home, plugged it in and managed to get a partial screen display. After opening it up and shaking out any remaining water, I managed to get it working again, albeit with a slightly marred display. With another 3 days of drying, the display was perfect again, touchscreen and all. I bought a new rechargeable battery from eBay, and except for a few small gouges at the seams where I opened it, it works perfectly again. Whew, what a relief. It really gives you a huge amount of confidence and a feeling of freedom to know you can never get lost. I can't emphasize enough how impressed I am by this product.

I was introduced to the Nuvi 350 when a friend lent me his on a road trip. I quickly came to wonder how I got by without one for so long. What impressed me about this model in particular is the intuitive interface. It works exactly the way you expect it to. The menus are well thought out, the touch screen is very responsive, the display is crisp, and the spoken directions are easy to understand and well timed. Especially in a large city, the roads won't always match the map exactly due to construction, etc. but the device does a very good job at noticing when you're off the path and rerouting. Downloading the most recent map update, which is free the first time, minimizes map discrepancies.

I bought this product for ~$450 in Feb 2007, and it worked till now very well. We have traveled extensively on the east coast and the west coast and this unit was a great accessory on our trips. But very recently the unit froze, it fails to connect to satellite. Upon further research I found that this is a very common problem and the only solution is to return the Unit for repairs. I am returning the Unit, since I am out of warranty they wanted to charge another $50 for repairs but they waived it off. I don't expect such an expensive thing to get these kind of problems just after 1 year. And it is not just my unit, many other people are getting such problems. Even 660 and 360 have these bugs.
