The 2008 US Men's Baskeball Team, aka "the Redeem Team" is arguably the second greatest team not just in US Olympic Basketball History only behind the 1992 Dream Team and Olympic Basketball history. The 2008 squad featured not only outstanding athletes (as every US Team using NBA players has had)  but was a very cohesive unit which was highly motivated and focused as it sought to make up for the disapointments of falling short at the 2002 and 2006 World Championships and the 2004 Athens Olympics. The team featured oustanding passing talents of Jason Kidd, Chris Paul and LeBron James, good scoring off the bench from Dwayne Wayne while Kobe Bryant was the closer the team needed and Kobe scored on a huge four point play in the gold medal game vs Spain in the closing minutes of the game. The team also played good defense and ran the floor well and blew away most opponents although it played in a tightly contested game in its matchup with Spain in the gold medal game. There were just a couple of weakness for this team were it could sometimes struggle with outstanding shooting and did'nt have huge depth in the paint as it only had Dwight Howard, Chris Bosh and Carlos Boozer. But overall an outstanding team and could hold its own in a match up with the 1992 Dream Team.
