Eh, I've had it for at least a year now. I think it gets very old to me. It is woodsy and masculine, which I like, but it doesn't have the same interesting tones that a Polo or an Old Spice has. Maybe that's just because I've had it so long that it's no longer interesting, but I'm actually currently looking for a replacement for this. It gets the job done, but I can imagine some women have been turned off of me by it (excuse).

After realizing I am getting low on my Halston cologne I had occasion to stop by the men's cologne counter at Macy's while my wife was shopping for some summer clothes. I was disappointed when the sales lady, who I guess is in her late 50s, told me Halston Z1-12 and Z-14 aren't being made anymore. While not being ready to buy, but having time to kill I sampled 35+ "mens" colognes with her help; and what a dissappointment! I commented that everyone of them had a floral/"Cool Water" scent which I associate with a kid's cologne or an over scented woman's perfume. Only one of the Chanel colognes was even remotely something I would be interested in, the bulk of the others had an over floral/fruity cheapness that would make other people think you are trying to cover-up not showering for a week!

-- This is NOT the case with either Halston cologne. These colognes have a classic mens' musk smell that commands respect and says your no fruitcake. The Z-14 is a little "sweeter" than the Z1-12, but still nothing like the new wave of colognes. The otherthing is the Halston colognes last all day without you being able to smell yourself for hours after putting it on, unlike the newer colognes which after sampling, I went to bed in and still could smell myself in the morning.

I used to use this cologne years ago. I saw it on Amazon for a great price with free shipping (Prime) and ordered it. When I got it, and first sprayed it on myself, I couldn't believe it was the same cologne. It smelled like older stock that had been sitting around for awhile. Returning it tomorrow.

has kinda a 'old school' smell, but it lasts. Everytime i wear it people ask me if i'm wearing POLO.

Great cologne at a great price. Well packaged and arrived on time.
