Installing and using the turntable is very easy, but installing the software for Mac one find out that only the EZ audioconverter can be used in stead of the EZ Vinyl converter. Features for iTunes doesn't work anymore and recording of vinyl will take a long time. I really think the advertisements are too shiney but the software and help/faq is really garbage. It's a pity to experience.

I am quite happy with this turntable. It is making a simple job out of a stack of vinyl transfers, though it does take some time to clean up the recording. I'm using the Audacity software (which is freeware, btw) that was bundled with it. It's pretty powerful for noise removal and editing, but not as straightforward as one might wish. I had hoped to use the Gracenote software to auto-label the tracks, but you can't have everything. I like the fact that no additional preamp is needed, but I tend to agree with others who thought the platen of the turntable is a little light. Overall it's a good price for what you get.

When I first received this product, I had several problems for which there was no truth-in-advertising warning. I tried to hook it to my computer with a 12 foot USB cable, so I could keep the turntable linked to my stereo. I was able to obtain a signal, but very faint. The cure here was to set the turntable next to my computer and attach with a much shorter USB cable (which meant I had to move my printer). My next problem was intermittent static. After a few frustrating days of troubleshooting the problem, I discovered my Mac's audio driver wasn't compatible with the turntable. The solution was to download an older audio driver of Apple's. After that everything worked fine. Using the EZ Audio Converter is a good match for most of my vinyl, but I have a few records that were loaned out over the years and consequently came home with minor scratches. ION makes available a piece of software that can damp out such things, but I have yet to be able to make it work. But for most of my vi... Read more

I've had my Ion LP Recorder for a month now and have recorded about 60 albums. I find it easy to use, the quaility is great, and it is has performed better then I expected. I would recommend it to anybody.

This is one of the easiest turntables to use. Operation is simple and you can learn quickly what and how to make a recording. The software that came with the turntable, is so easy to master that a child can do it all in a matter of minutes. The few problems that I have had in using the turntable and software were my own mistakes by hitting the wrong button. You do have to pay attention to what you are doing. I would recommend this product to anyone who needs to put their old long playing records on a cd. I gave it five stars. Pete Scaduto

This turntable is great for making CDs from your old 33rpm records. Very easy to set up. Worked with Linux and Windows without any modifications.
