I say that Sarah Palin has a lot of integrity probably more then the one who was elected President. In fact she has so little baggage that nobody has been able to dig up anything really jucy about her, so they've had to resort to little stupid stuff, like her wardrobe which wasn't even her's to keep and trying to make her look stupid buy taking everything she does or says out of context. Mr. Obama on the other hand has a lot of baggage and couldn't even pass the vetting to be in his own administration. We still don't even know who he is, all we have to go on is the glossy perfect picture that the propaganda machine media has painted for us. Hopeully he doesn't turn out to be a big mistake.

Too bad there's no "zero" or "less than zero" option here. The Legislative Investigation that commenced in July of this year just reported that Pig Lipstick abused her office and violated the state ethics code. She should be impeached for this after she's sent home next month in defeat. She helped herself to $68,000 of the taxpayers' money by taking per diem payments while living at home and granting free, unnecessary transportation to her family. Then, as she failed to report this income, she should be charged with income tax evasion. She spoke out against porkbarrelling, yet as Mayor of Walrusfart, successfully lobbied for tens of millions in federal aid, and then as Governor, hired lobbyists who tried to mooch hundreds of millions from Washington. She was for the Bridge to Nowhere before she was against it. She and her husband operated a commercial fishing business but failed to get licenses. She sat on a state energy board while her husband was employed by a pertoleum company: no conflict of interest there. She had the nerve to say that Obama "palled around with terrorists," while knowing full well this was not the case. Etc., etc., etc. This woman is a bag of sh*t, not an exemplar of integrity. You really have to wonder about the intelligence and judgment of the McCain campaign when you consider her being on the ticket. She's a scummy, dirty, typically corrupt pol who's about the most insincere, disingenuous and lying phony to come down the political path in ages.

UPDATE: I reserve judgment on this as I do not believe that the abuse of authority is excused on partisan grounds. When they release the basis for their decision, we should all look at the facts as this finding could be partisan-motivated (the timing sure looks damning) and should therefore be dismissed. Will she be censured? Criminally charged? Impeached? But, the presidential race is reaching the point where we're deciding between the lesser of two lessers (McCain vs. Obama) and Palin's misdeeds, which we know about, might be less dangerous than any of Obama's misdeeds, which we will be kept in the dark about by an agenda-driven press. With 3 weeks to go, this is pretty tough timing.
ORIGINAL COMMENT 9/15/08: Geez, mag, aren't those points a little on the flimsy and premature side? The media has descended on Alaska with one mission and one mission only: to find dirt on Sarah and her family. Let them at least find a morsel to shriek about before you declare "mission accomplished. "
Troopergate was Clinton's egregious abuse of power having Arkansas State Troopers scour audiences for his private female pleasure partners at political conventions, applying that name to Palin's situation seems pretty small potatoes (did I spell that right?) comparatively.
Changing her stance on the bridge to nowhere and not giving full disclosure in a convention speech might be a tough standard for all candidates to comply with. Mincing her statements on Alaska's "contributing share of the US energy usage" and her "position on climate change" , gee, I just don't see how someone's integrity can be evaluated and concluded about so quickly.
It's a bit unlike you to jump the gun and impugn someone's integrity with so much to be verified and proven. Must be a pretty appealing bandwagon. Or, maybe it's all about ideology. My jury's still out on her integrity. If there's something of substance to draw a negative conclusion about her, I'll be watching for it on the front page of the NY Times.

Maybe Palin did have a momentary lacking of good judgment. I don't know of many if any politicians that have not had these shortcomings from time to time. Look at Clinton, Bush, Johnson, Kennedy and Nixon to name a few.

From the report, released Friday afternoon: "For the reasons explained in section IV of this report, I find that Governor Sarah Palin abused her power by violating Alaska Statute 39.52.110(a) of the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act. Alaska Statute 39.52.110(a) provides The legislature reaffirms that each public officer holds office as a public trust, and any effort to benefit a personal or financial interest through official action is a violation of that trust."

I just have to laugh. It is such a relief to see her going down in flames!!
magellan 09/15/2008
This is unfortunately not looking like one of Governor Palin's strong points. A couple of her more brazen lies have been regarding Troopergate, her position on climate change, her position on the Bridge to Nowhere, and Alaska's contributing share of the US energy usage.
frenchiefastwa ves 09/06/2008
Oh yeah, tons of integrity! Like when she's trying to get rid of a trouble-makin ex-in-law...
irishgit 08/31/2008
In some ways, but she is the subject of an ethics probe by her own legislature (dominated by Republicans) Lets see how that plays out.
lmorovan 08/30/2008
More integrity than any of the other candidates, Presidential or Vice Presidential of both parties. She should have been in the main political arena much earlier. Perhaps we would not be in the mess we are, especially in what the family morals and values and unborn child protection is concerned. I wasn't sure whether to vote at all this November, but after her nomination, I will go with her all the way.
LadyJesusFan77 7 08/30/2008
I agree, integrity is very important in the role she will be playing, but even until a few months ago John McCain didn't even know much about her. The only thing any of us can do is watch and listen, then we will see for ourselves.
fitman 08/30/2008
Apparently, Mr. McSAME hopes to diflect difficult questions by hiding behind her skirts. Could work.
Loerke 08/30/2008
Currently dealing with an ethics probe from her own heavily Republican legislature for firing someone who refused to punish her brother-in-law. This story is being investigated by the very conservative Wall Street Journal, so I'm pretty sure there's some merit in the story. Sure, it's small potatoes, but so is everything this governor has ever done.
Wiseguy 08/30/2008
The opposition will have to be a little careful when they try to trash her, but no matter what they try, it will most likely back fire on them.
Strijdom 08/30/2008
I believe Sarah Palin's proven integrity will be needed for the job the most.
