On 'Growing Pains,' Mike Seaver went to Alf Landon Junior College.  And as Jason Seaver might say, 'Alf Landon College is a good get ready for college kind of college....it's accredited and has free-standing buildings.'

There were hardly any Republicans left in office.  Knox was a newspaper publisher.  There was no way Landon was going to win, but I think Francis Townsend, the father of Social Security, who was a Republican spoken of as a presidential possibility, might have been more intriguing.  But then again, the Republicans probably should have nominated Townsend for president.
