I downloaded it, am using it now, and does seem to show some promise. It seems to be pretty fast, and the google search from the address bar is great. It also does a good job of maximizing usable screen space. The only downside is one shared by all non-IE browsers; even if you set Google Chrome as the default browser, if you open Hotmail directly from Windows Live Messenger, it opens in IE. But that's really more of a problem with Microsoft trying to bully you into using their products than it is a problem with the browser.

UPDATE: If Chrome is set as your default browser, and you are using a newer version of Windows Live Messenger, you can now open your Hotmail directly from messenger. The only downside is that it forces you to login again, but I think I can live with that. Time to experiment with using Chrome as my default browser.

When i used it. it was quite fast and easy to use but there were not much features and plugins that help you.

Update: After using Chrome for a couple of weeks, my assessment is that it's not (quite) ready for prime time.  Flash video players don't work very well with Chrome (sometimes they won't play), and despite the marketing material to the contrary, one locked tab will lock the whole browser.  Plus, you can't add extensions.  I'm back to Firefox 3.

Original Review: I've only been messing around with Google Chrome for a few hours, but so far so good.  It seems very fast, and I think the fact that you can do google searches from the address bar is pretty neat.  I also like that if one tab on your browser locks up, it doesn't bring down the whole browser.  I'm not ready to move all my bookmarks and stuff over, but I'm thinking about it....

I like Chrome because it's faster than firefox! But not everything works in this browser, and it takes some getting used.

You can tell Chrome was developed by Google – with its engineer centric mind-set (which is good in my opinion):  it has nice built-in dev tools (right-click: Inspect element ).

I advise no one to use Google Chrome until the EULA is adjusted.  Below is a writing from the EULA from Google's Chrome and why if you are working with any Intellectual Property you would be in trouble if you used this new browser.  All in all Google is trying to be a bunch of crooks.  They say its no big deal but image that you are having a sexy conversation significant other and all of a sudden you see a movie with your exact conversation and pictures played out in sexy chat room seen.  Or you invent some awesome invention that solves some huh world issue and Google takes the credit and does not pay you a dime because they have the IP rights over your material just because it passed through their Chrome browser.  I will not use this browser unless they change these clauses in their EULA even if the software it's is cool.

  The new Browser is very fast, un fact, it is much faster than anything I checked before. It gives very good integration with Google services, and it learns your behaviour to become even more useful with time. It embeds the IE settings, bookmarks, and passwords, so you can start working immediately. There is a new incognito surfing mode.

With all that, I am not sure, I am ready to switch to Chrome right away from my heavy loaded Maxthon, where I know every step, and where I have many possibilities, I should still investigate in Chrome.

An open letter to Google Chrome - you seem so cool!....i have seen screenshots and I am drooling over little crap like your scrollbar keyword highlighting... but....no mac version? Really? Have you been to San Francisco lately? All I see are macbook pros anymore. :( Plz fix, thx.
