The 12-hr. Sudafed works pretty good.

Well, I've never tried Sudafed with psuedoephedrine, but have to say, I'm totally disappointed that I purchased Sudaphed PE severe cold formula. It is not working. I've taken 4 tablets in 2 hours and still nothing. I am still coughing my head off, and blowing my nose. I can't work like this. I'm going to try to take it back and get the good stuff.

The old Sudafed syrup with pseudoephedrine was great. It not only restrained the stuffy nose but also gave me a kick that let me do my usual work for the day. I can confirm jonpjk's point about appetite loss -- drinking the stuff made me see why heroin addicts never eat. No other cold medicine could do that. With the new FDA regulations about ephedrine, though, we've been left (in 2007) with a new variety of Sudafed that does absolutely nothing. I can see why ephedrine is regulated, but did they really have to take a medicine off the shelves that contains only a small amount?

I took sudafed and it had a completely adverse effect on me. I ended up shaking - my heart rate went through the roof - all in all a terrible experience not to be repeated. Obviously my reaction was extreme, but if taking for the first time, be careful.

I used the version of Sudafed with 60 mg of pseudoephedrine. It was very good. It really cleared my blocked nose, and saved me that horrible red nose you get after you go through too many tissues. I did experience two side effects of restlessness and complete appetite loss, though they didn't cause me any significant discomfort.

The restlessness made it harder for me to get to sleep, but I think that that can be avoided by not taking Sudafed right before bed time.

The appetite loss was very significant, though. For three days, I felt as though I had just eaten a good meal, even though I'd eaten nothing at all. This was perfectly comfortable, but on the fourth day I had to force myself to eat because I was beginning to feel muscle wasteage and weakness. This side effect would not have caused me any discomfort had I eaten at least a little, so if you experience this, make sure you try and have a few snacks during the day.

Since I have constant allergies and nasal congestion, I don't know what I'd do without Sudafed. Of course, I often buy the generic of it to make it less expensive. It helps me to breathe and not cough and sneeze, so that is wonderful to me. No bad side effects, which is amazing, too.

I was sick with a cold and took some of this stuff, and it proceeded to make me so sick I thought I was gonna die. I threw up until I thought my belly and lungs were going to explode. I have refused to take any since then.

It really depend what is going on. Sudafedrine will reduce my sneezing and nose symptomes. I do not get the impression it is helping me heal.

I hate having a stuffy nose, not being able to taste food, and to wake up congested: take one of these before you go to bed and it's very effective in clearing up your sinuses. If it's during the day and you want your congestion cleared quickly, take a Fisherman's Friend, but these are good for staying power if I remember correctly, and you don't want to be sucking on something in your sleep. Effective.

Sudafed never seems to be able to make me feel better. It either makes me extremely hyper or extremely tired, but doesn't give me any relief.

I consider Sudafed to be the ultimate weapon against a bad cold or sinus problems. It kicks in almost immediately, and I find it to be highly effective. I tried the non-drowsy, 12-hour formula this week, and I was very impressed. Its effects really did last all day. I noticed that I felt a bit wired, which was an advantage all day and only caused me to wake up a few times at night- no big deal. If you're looking for immediate, long-lasting relief, opt for Sudafed.

Good if you are at home and in bed. It will make you a little drowsy but it will clear up those sinuses!

Use the 12-hour cold medicine and you'll feel your nasal passages clear up within the first half-hour you take it. It's small, powerful and works!
