Bought this for doing "hot" yoga, and I love it. Works well for absorbing sweat. Read the other reviews that said that the colors ran, so I bought a white one. If I wear bright colored clothing to class, the colors sweat into the towel! Now it's a light purple/gray color, but the towel still works fine. I might buy a second one because I use it everyday. Can't imagine using it twice in a row without washing.

After being treated for severe post traumatic stress I decided to finally give yoga a try. I was over weight, stressed, and unhappy with my life. I decided to try a yoga studio near my house, they do a hot power yoga... it's very intense. They say you burn between 600 and 800 calories during a class. So I began going everyday... and that was 2 months ago. I have lost 20 pounds, went from not being able to hold a downward dog for more than 10 seconds to going to a 4 hour arm balancing workshop that will help with my crow and other arm balances that I couldn't imagine doing two months ago. Along with the health benefits I am saving a lot of money on the thearapy bill :) Because a good yoga instucter is like a therapist. Ok so nothing about the mat yet but here goes. This is the second mat like this that I have purchased. I am so pleased with the first one but couldn't take how many times I had to launder it. (I practice in front of the heat lamps and sweat... a lot!) The point of this of couse is that I highly recommend yoga (especially heated) for anyone in need of an life altering experience. And I don't believe there is a better product out there to help with the sweat and skidding involved in the practice. Namaste!

The mat lives up to its reputation- doesn't slip, and doesn't retain odors after a tough workout.

I definitely find that I slip less and the only detractor is that sometimes when moving through poses quickly my towel gets a little crumpled and I have to straighten it. Even so, I'd rather have to straighten my towel than slip and slide through my poses.

I want to give the person who created this thing a hug. It is very soft on the top, and has tons of tiny little rubber-like dots on the bottom, which grip the floor or yoga mat underneath like the toes of a tree frog. I used to slip all over the place on my mat, and I don't move at all on this. Makes for a stellar down dog!
