Pantene

I really like Pantene. I avoided it for a couple years because my stylist told me it made my hair fall out. But of all the other shampoos i tried (ranging from grocery store to salon varieties), i saw no change...I think the hair loss just looks worse than it is because my hair is pretty long, or could also be the result of a nutritional deficiency, either way, I've ruled out any of the shampoos (and I don't use any other "product" other than conditioner). The only time I've ever gotten compliments on my hair was while using Pantene, so since I love how it makes my hair feel, and how shiny it looks, I've switched back to it, and again am just as pleased as I was before (After 3 years off, I've been back a month). As far as acetone in the product, the ingredient list on the bottle of "Smooth and Sleek" Pantene Pro-V next to me states: water, ammonium laureth sulfate, ammonium lauryl sulfate, sodium chloride, glycol distearate, dimethicone, cetyl alcohol, cocamide MEA, panthenol, panthenyl ethyl ether, lysine HCL, methyl tyrosinate HCL, histidine, fragrance, polyquaternium-10, sodium citrate, hydrogenated polydecene, sodium benzoate, disodium EDTA, PEG-7M, trimethylolpropane tricaprylate/tricaprate, citric acide, ammonium xylenesfulfonate, methylchloroisothiazolinone, and methylisothiazolinone. As far as I can tell, I do not see acetone on said ingredient list, which is also known as propanone, dimethyl ketone, 2-propanone, propan-2-one and ß-ketopropane. The acetone used as nail polish and fake nail removal is used at 100 strength. To give "them" the benefit of the dout, even if anyone could find acetone in the product, it would likely be at trivial amounts. I'm guessing that was tossed out to scare gullible consumers. Sure, some of the ingredients sound scary. (they do in most commercially available shampoos). Also, functions of certain ingredients can be affected by the format it is used in (for example, as a salt), the concentration (for example, some things are beneficial in small doses, yet toxic in larger amounts), and also how the ingredients mix with the other ingredients (chemicals can mix well, literally not mix at all, or cause explosions, and everything among them), etc. I hope this helps people in making their decision for or against the product.
