3 stars I enjoy the product for effectiveness but it does not hold up to it's advertising that it will not show white on your clothes Mitchum?? for Women Clear Gel, No Residue Formula.Quick drying gel formula leaves no trace of messy white residue on you or your clothes. I have white residue on my clothes everyday and it is dry when I put my clothes on. Please either do not use this advertising or make a product that holds up to it's advertising.

To those who liked the old product,I want to thank you for the opportunity to make a statement regarding Mitchum Roll on unsented Anti Perspirant and Deodorant I have used it for over 10 years and it had worked great. Not sure what Revlon Cons. Prod Corp. did to it, but the changes have me very un happy. For such a long time it worked perfectly and I noticed in the last two containers I purchased do not work any more . With the old Mitchum Roll on I did not sweat at all all day long and I did not have odor basically at all and could go two days if I needed without using it, maybe it was too good and sales were slumping I dont know. The new product unsented is actually not unsented and states that it has odorguard and is superstrength odor protection. Its to bad that companies think they need to improve good products that work great and when they change them they change the character of the product and it no longer performs in the same manner. I need something that works as I hate to have my underarms wet as well as my shirts. It is Time for them to bring back the old product as the new doesn't work for me and I need to be dry, so I will look for something that works for me. The new product doesn't and the statement on the packaging states "Powerful protection all day long" it doesn't fit the product.Thank You,Ben JohnsonPittsburg, CAjohnben31@comcast.net

I have been using Mitchum for many, many years. And I loved it, because it was unscented, and your underarms kept unscented. You never would sweat. Until one day I noticed something different when I put it on. It was not drying and I was sweating into the day and I got a rash! I tried another bottle, but it did the samething. Why did they do this to the consumer? They need to go back to the old formula. But I need to find out, whats in the formula different then before, thats causing it not be effective.
mizlee 07/26/2009
I used the Mitchum wide solid unscented stick for over 30 years and loved it -even if it did have a small problem with residue. This new supposedly SMART solid is terrible! It breaks off in chunks and doesn't even work as well as the old stuff, which is nearly impossible to get. Right now I am combing the internet trying to find the old stuff. I see I am not alone in finding this "new and improved" formula to be a lot like New Coke. Awful, awful, awful!!!!!

Well - I just registered my complaint with Revlon!! Hopefully if enough of us call them they will go back to the "old" ingredients of Mitchum. So - please call. The 888-MITCHUM number does not work!!! Call this number 1-800-473-8566 to reach Revlon.I agree with all the recent reviews!! I have been using Mitchum forever and then all of the sudden they change the look of the bottle and the deodorant itself.I have a mjaor rash and itch. I put the deodorant on at 6:15 this morning and it is STILL not dry!!!!!!I recently tried Dry Idea and that is just not working for me either (it cakes up). Can someone recommend a good deodorant?PLEASE CALL REVLON and maybe we can get some action and they wil go back to the old deodorant.Thanks.

Revlon makes Mitchum.............1-888-MITCHUMThey have no listing of the Mitchum product on their website. They have no customer feeback forum for any of their products.Their "contact us" form is very limited and not a viable way for a customer to register a complaint.Basically Revlon is a giant in the health and beauty industry and could not care less about their customers. Many corporations have been forced to recall a product that is so defective. I think the overloaded vaults at Revlon should be cracked open and every one of their unsatisfied customers should get a full refund. After finding a magnifying glass to read the miniscule print on the back of the product, (BTW I am 44 with perfect vision) I was able to read their phone number. The product imported into Canada by Revlon Canada and sold here in Canada has a toll free number that is not accessible from Canada. I don't think that is by mistake. Revlon does not want to hear from its customers. The product I have been using for 20 yrs is Mitchum Clear-Gel Anti-perspirant and deodorant. Mitchum Gel has ruined too many expensive shirts! They seem to have changed their formula in recent past and now the armpits on my shirts are stained and even the texture of the fabric changes and desinegrates.I HOPE IF YOU MADE IT THIS FAR BECAUSE YOU ARE UNHAPPY WITH REVLON AND THEIR MITCHUM PRODUCT THAT YOU WILL PICK UP THE PHONE AND CALL THEM (IF YOU ARE IN U.S.) OR WRITE TO THEM.I think a class action lawsuit to recoup all the money that they are stealing from their customers would be a great idea. I would join.

I've used Mitchum Solid Unscented for over 30 years, glad that I would never have to seek a better product, that is until I started using whatever this NEW & IMPROVED product is. The new product feels creepy going on, it's given me an extremely uncomfortable rash under both my arms & I'm itching so bad I've removed several layers of skin. Mitchum has become a totally unusable product!
randigrace 07/08/2009
I have used Mitchums since 1973 and never had any problems until the formula change.I began having an underarm rash and itching like hell fire, stopped using it went to Secretwhich didn't cause a rash, but isn't really an effective anti-perspirant, switched back toMitchums, still got the rash. Guess I'm just going to have to smell. If anyone knows ofa good effective antiperspirant I'd love to hear about it.
randihpnc246 06/30/2009
After 40 years of using Mitchum exclusively, this new one, called Smart, is so stupid, it falls appart and it is all over your floor and sink, everywhere but under your arms. I will give it one moore chance and if it does it again, I will look elswhere. What is the matter with you? Did you ever heard "IF IT IS NOT BROKEN, DO NOT TRY TO FIX IT". You really fixed this one.
leigha1965 05/23/2009
I have been a user of Mitchum Wide Solid Unscented for 30+ years and have found that it is no longer available at the stores I shop at. Decided to try the Smart Solid....what a joke....it goes on wet and it never dries......that product just doesn't work for me anymore....please bring back the wide solid unscented!
tarant42 04/21/2009
I agree with every complaint listed. After using this product for 30+ years and recommending it to many people I will no longer use it. It crumbles, so I never get my money's worth, the formula has been changed and it is no longer effective. It also takes forever to dry and when it does there are flakes from the dried deodorant. I am sorry about this change because it really WAS an excellant product.
terry2009 03/17/2009
I have used Mitchum for many years and now this deoderant is causing some major problems with it causing with after showering in the evening and going to bed, Mitchum has caused like bleach like stains on my sheets that will not wash out and even worse is that this Mitchum deoderant has ruined 2 very expensive shirts that the first one that i sent to the cleaners, i thought they ruined. It caused very brown marks where my underarms go and then the material when i touched it, MY FINGERS WHEN I TOUCHED THOSE STAIN SIMPLY TORN RIGHT THROUGH THE MATERIAL. I was furious with the cleaners thinking this was their horrible mistake somehow using chemicals. I then bought another almost $200.00 shirt in South Beach, Miami, wore this shirt one time, decided to wear a couple of days later, asked my wife to just press a few wrinkles and as soon as she put the lightly heated iron towards the armpit area, there were those very dark brown spots right where the deoderant would be, I CAME UNGLUED! I took the shirt and put my fingers to the spot and my fingers went completely through the shirt. There is some chemical that must be used in Mitchum that when it comes in touch with heat, causes these brown spots and then dissovles the material!!! I want to know what that chemical is that i am putting on my body that would do this horrible thing??? Will NEVER USE AGAIN! This needs to be reported to the BBB!

Wow, I'm glad I stumbled upon this site because I was starting to think that the stress of living was finally starting to get to me. I started using Mitchum about 12 years ago when nothing else worked at all. I guess the grocery store I get my personal hygiene products from finally ran out of inventory and purchased a new batch because about a month ago I bought a new stick of "extreme" something or other gel and it doesn't work at all. I'll just be sitting at my desk literally dripping down my sides. I thought it was this new version that was the problem so I went back a couple of weeks later and bought the normal Mitchum gel I had always been using. Same problem. I guess it's freshman year of high school all over again and I've got to find something else that works. This sucks.
oslekadnil 01/15/2009
I am glad to find this site. I purchased 4 of the unscented solid on clearance over a year ago and just ran out. I bought clear solid and it is horrible. The rite aid and cvs still have the unscented solid...but it is $5! Guess that is a bargain from the stories I am reading here.I will also call the mitchum 800 number and complain. Who would think after 30 years they'd change the product. Will we be as lucky as coke drinkers in getting the original back?
et3naltwilight 01/05/2009
The mitchum smart solid waterlily smells terrible. It's supposed to help with perspiration but while having it on, it feels so watery and sticky! It's actually making me perspire even more.

The ingredient change was horrible..... Please call their toll-tree number and voice your concerns. 888-8 MITCHUM (OR 888-864-8248) A disappointed couple who had used Mitchum for years.
brasilia 11/16/2008
Oh yes, I agree with everyone. This product falls apart after using it for a short while and then you have to throw away the huge chunk that breaks off. (or the several smaller chunks) I am new to Mitchum and when this happened, I called the company to let them know my experience. They led me to believe that what I experienced was unusual and they sent me 2 coupons to replace the product. So I bought a few more and it has happened again to EVERY one. Apparently, it is the product. It does not leave a white residue on my clothes, but it is a waste if I have to throw away half of the product every time. I will look for another brand.
krewjay 10/01/2008
What a rip off the new Smart Solid is. I call it the Stupid Solid. I too am a 30+ year user of Mitchum. You can't use it without it breaking up. I have tried several ways to use it but, each time it breaks off. I throw away more than I use. I am going to try another brand.
Jedd 10/01/2008
The problem my wife and I have is that the "formula" we want only comes uncented. Come on, unscented??????? No anti-perspirant/deodorant keeps you totally stench free. There are times of some need for odor control-like the end of the day. PLEASE bring back Mitchum Solid Scented Stick!
NGG 09/25/2008
This product claims to not leave a trace on clothing - not true. I can't begin to tell you the # of times I have had traces on my clothes. And on top of this MANY of my t-shirts become stained by this product!
susanins 08/23/2008
URGENT!!! I have been a long-time user of Mitchum's solid stick, but you have recently changed your formula and you now call it "Smart Solid." I am unable to find any of your original formula now so assume you have stopped producing it. This "smart solid" has the unfortunate habit of breaking off - in pieces, as it is being used. The consequence is that I am throwing away small chunks of your product, and also have to crawl around on the bathroom floor, picking them up before my dog finds them and eats them. I am now using my second "smart solid" and thought I should give it one more try - that perhaps I had gotten hold of an old or dried-out product the first time. This one is still the same. It is OK for the first week or so, but as I get farther down it, it starts to break off in little pieces as I rub it against my skin. I have tried being very gentle with my strokes, but that doesn't seem to make any difference. Hope you will look into this and make some adjustments to your formula. I am going to have to start experimenting with other products to find one that is as effective as yours, but doesn't crumble!! I can't keep throwing away half your product when it crumbles! NOTE _ I only just realized there were other comments written on this page!! Duh!! I was thrilled to see that almost 100% of them were complaining about the exact same thing!!! Hey - Mitchum Makers - Aren't you listening??????????
ralphie90 06/27/2008
I just bought the Mitchum Anti-perspirant gel and it just doesn't work AT ALL as far as helping with perspiration. As I haven't used deodorant/anti-perspirant sticks for a couple of years, I can't seem to remember which brand worked well for me. But this is truly a waste of time and money. Furthermore, the stick reads: "Bonus! 25% more". Well, perhaps, but the plunger on the container is almost halfway up! (yes, it was an unused stick with the protective seal on the opening). Why then can't they make it smaller then? Well, because as we all know that it part of the "market to sell" ploy. I am still using the Right Guard spray, which still works better than Mitchum (or should I perhaps say - "MyChump")
jimwiz 05/05/2008
I've used Mitchum deoderant for 35 years......and the new formula is a joke. The "solid" is doughlike, breaking off at the half used point, and the effectiveness, is minimal....the liquid application, is a bad joke, effectively worthless..I refuse to use this now inferior product, and am looking for a replacement.......35 years later.

I have used mitchum deodorant for years. I just tryed the smart solid for women. It crumbles when you use it. very disapointing. I just makes a big mess. I will not use again. I bought 2 and will not use them again. I think I deserve a coupon if they want me to use their products again!
88merlin 04/27/2008
for the ladies brand, now that they've changed the formula to not leave the "white on your close" and gone more gel based (even though the label does not say gel), by the middle of the it quits working. I used to luv this product as it would last the day and more, but now I need to find another Anti_perspirant.
Beaches160 03/23/2008
I usually purchase the Mitchum powder fresh scent and love it. I mistakenly purchased the "unscented" and was very disappointed by the scent it had. It actually gave me a headache. So if it's suppose to be "unscented" WHY is there a scent??? This will make me be more careful when purchasing in the future. Rating the "UNSCENTED" with only one star, due to the bad scent it projects. 5 stars to the powder fresh scent.
sandrakoziol1 03/03/2008
I purchased Mitchum Solid for Women and 1/4 to 1/2 through the container the deodorant started breaking off in big hunks to the point that it could no longer be used I was disappointed with this, it was a waste of my money. The deodorant does work very good but it does leave a white residue on your clothing, I have used the solid as mentioned above and the gel both leave marks.
brake4squirrel s 02/27/2008
I have used mitchum since high school (almost 12 years now) and was very excited (well very excited might be overstating it a little) to start using the new smart solid. It is one of the worst products I have ever used. I bought one stick and it worked ok, I wasn't thrilled with the protection, it was so watery that half way through the day I felt like I was actually sweating more than I normally would (not that Im an overly sweaty person or anything). I bought a second stick though because I like mitchum and didn't really think too much about trying something else at the time (lazy). Less than half way through that stick it started to break and crumble into pieces, I thought...hmm...maybe this one was just defective or something (well thats not all I thought but the rest might not be appropriate). So me, apparently being a glutton for punishment, went out and bought my third stick and lo and behold, halfway through, the stupid thing started to crumble and fall apart. I do believe, sadly, that was the last stick of mitchum I will ever buy. I happened to tell my friend about this dilemma, (yes, we actually had a conversation about deodorant, riveting, I know) and she told me she too has tried this product and experienced the same problem. At this point I have to say I would much rather go back to having a little white on my shirts over having little (sometimes huge) chunks of deodorant flying all over my bathroom (trust me, not fun if you miss a piece and get up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night).
tdvorak77 02/11/2008
I have been using mitchum for over 5 years and realy enjoyed the deodorant but when they swiched the formula to the new smart solid I want to look for a new deodorant. The new formula leaves me feeling sticky. I wish they would bring back the original formula. If they did I would be a lifelong costumer. The reason that I swiched to them in the first placed is because I break out in a rach from any other brand. I give the new smart solid 2 thumbs down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!
momo3 01/13/2008
I have used Mitchum Anti-Perspirant solid unscented for over 30 years.I am sorry to say, that since you changed the product by including a no white residue ingredient the product has changed for the worst. It no longer works as well and the solid stick starts to fall apart before it is even halfway used. Once again, New and improved translates into new and not as good! After all these years I have now had to shop for a new deodorant. I would rather have white marks than this new Mitchum product.
AnneM 10/23/2007
I find that the Unscented Mitchem has an unpleasant odor all of its own. I spent the summer thinking it was me that was producing this odor even after I had just showered. Finally, I decided to smell both containers of Mitchum Solid Unscented that I had. YES--I finally have the answer. It is the deodorant that smells--not me! I have no other choice but to change deodorants after many years with Mitchum. Guess they must have changed their formula
eddonovan 09/26/2007
Mitchum's used to be great but in the last month it has ruined three expensive shirts with pink-purple stains under the armpits. I was not even sweating at the time. I'm calling their number 888-8-mitchum to find out what they plan to do about it. In the meantime I'd rather stink than use that crap.
Bikertrash 08/03/2007
Mitchem Smart Solid is like damp glue for too long.
Ardensai 07/21/2007
I have a minor perspirant issue, the mainstream products are effective but none last for 24 hours. When I found out about Mitchum couple years back, it used to be my answer to perspirant. Mitchum used to be the best deodorant I've used all these years. It used to live up the standard of their slogan "So Effective You COuld Skip A Day", until they changed the formula. Previously, they had 20% of aluminum zirconium tetrachlorohydrex gly in their product, I could applied it to my underarm and it'd stay dry and kept odor away for more than 24 hours, even after excessive workouts. (I still have one of the old empty bottle sitting around) The products I see today no longer consist of the above ingredient, instead, they replaced it with aluminum sesquichlorohydrate of 25%. Furthermore, their well-known slogan is no more. Gosh, how much I hate the new formula. The clear gel NO LONGER keeps my underarm dry, even when the weather isn't hot or humid! In fact, I just took a shower couple hours ago and after a walk outside, I already feel extremely uncomfortable in my underarm, and I could smell a bit of odor as well. Mitchum is really ineffective right now and this is the last tube of clear gel that I'll ever buy from Revlon. Goodbye Mitchum. If I knew the formula got changed, I wouldn't have stocked them up last time. (bought 3 tubes together) Rest in peace my old love.
nea06511 06/20/2007
this stuff doesn't work at all i had white marks and my pit stains were veerrrrrrrrrryyyy long don't buy it and i dance 4 hous that's alot of sweat and wen u have 2 do it full out u don't want to lift ur arms and see that. SO NO IT DOESN'T WORK DON'T WASTE UR TYME OR UR MONEY ON IT
BrittanyStar18 06/17/2007
It's really bad!! The new smart solid makes you sticky! It Sucks!
pharahiti 06/11/2007
The solid stick version kept me dry, but also brought me up in a sore rash in my armpits. The rollerball version (ice fresh) smells of toilet cleaner and is making me sneeze today at work
DaveMac 03/20/2007
The Mitchum Cool Dry, Hydro Solid "No white residue. No Staining." variation is terrible. After a day in the office with it, my wife said I smell worse than a day in the garden without it. Ineffective for me.
Juggernaut 02/08/2007
Didn't like this. Used the gel stuff....did nothing for me. Sticking to old spice.
sfarinas1 11/19/2006
I use the Mountain Fresh gel product. I tested the "so effective you couls skip a day" slogan and it is true. It is rather humid most of the time in Miami, so I need a deodorant that holds up under all conditions. This one does. No irritation or burns, and no residue on the shirts.
Terry15 05/25/2006
It would be great if Mitchum anti-perspirant gels had at least one with a masculine scent. "Sport" is the only one that comes close.
billy madatmitchum 02/14/2006
this antiperspirant stinks. I have had to wear undershirts under everything so as no to sweat out. Within minutes of putting on this crap, I have wets pots under my arms, which stay there until i take off the shirt- and yes! it DOES leave residue on shirts, which it claims not too. in my eyes a worthless product. I will be trying Maxim antiperspirant next, other than odor protection, Mitchum is a step up from wearing no deodorant at all.
-starfire- 02/02/2006
I think Mitchum is fabulous! I was seriously getting worried before when I had tried loads of other deodorants (including Right Guard and some various roll ons) that all failed to last even an hour sometimes less than that before getting wetness and odour. I used Mitchum for the first time today and for once I ahve been completely dry all day long at college! I can even wear my top again before it gets washed because there is no odour. I totally recommend this product.
dolphinlover 12/18/2005
I use it all the time but it says it leaves "no white marks" well it does leave white marks!! but it works well in other ways.
bfcam 12/16/2005
The product works well for me but the gel comes out. I travel all the time and when I open the lid it is full of the stuff. This is with the "new improved" formula. I'd whish these companies would just stick with what works.
FeMerican 09/28/2005
When I started using Mitchum in the 1970s, it was a clear liquid in a small bottle with a blue silky top through which the liquid seeped onto your skin when pressed against it. Back then it really WAS "so good you could even skip a day," and when I compared ingredients, their formula was completely different from all the others. The main ingredient was one I'd never heard of, before or since. Then they started tinkering with it, and it has steadily gone downhill. Now it's essentially the same formula as all the other "mainstream" brands, and doesn't even work as well as some of those. The latest formula, which claims it doesn't leave white marks on your clothing, also doesn't leave much protection on your underarms. I haven't had a problem with actual underarm ODOR (just wetness) in literally decades, but with this latest incarnation, I've begun to. So although I've been a loyal customer all these years, I'm through with Mitchum.
RachWilk 09/01/2005
I think Mitchum is terrible! I bought it from Boots thinking it would stop me from sweating seeing as it says on the tube So good you could skip a day. It is a complete lie, I put Mitchum on and within a couple of hours I was sweating and smelling!! I couldn't believe it after all the bother of trying to find a AP that would work for me. Also, even worse, it left BRIGHT BLUE STAINS ON THE UNDERARMS OF ALL MY CLOTHES!!! AND THEY DO NOT COME OUT IN THE WASH. I now use Nivea and it is great. Please don't use Mitchum if you don't want to buy a whole new wardrobe. I bought this Mitchum from a Boots in Manchester.
rac1002 11/17/2004
I found this product absolutely ineffective. I consider my self to have a moderate perspiration problem and thought this product would be the answer to my prayers. Alas it was not to be, within 1 hour of putting this under my arms I had wet patches on my clothing. I was only too glad to have bought it in Boots where they were having a offer on it and it was 1 off!! Whoopee doo!! I wouldn't touch this poor range of products again. I
