I liked the presentation - they have done good work, but idea is NOT original - am concerned with GoodGuide competing with similar services.  Just logged in and used the site.. pretty much a waste of my time.  The information is WEAK.

This is a fantastic idea and seems well implemented from the presentation. My only concern would be the scalability of their research process when they start to include broader items in their database. Keeping this information relevant and up-to-date with the amount of and testing and information gathering involved might cause problems and lead to incomplete or inaccurate data.

I hope for the sake of consumers everywhere that this company proliferates and is wildly successful. It's high time for an independent source for information that provides details like this. It's sort of like a socially conscious consumer reports minus the magazine (death of print :D web2.0 FTW). Marketing is all well and good, but it's generally only as accurate as it needs to be. GoodGuide has the potential to really hold companies accountable for their claims, their products and their manufacturing processes. Furthermore, it will allow consumers to reward companies that do, in fact, do good. :) Brilliant.

Impressive demo and a well timed release.  GoodGuide is building a giant database of health and environmental information on popular products - e.g. which products have known carcinogens, which products have ingredients that have been banned in other parts of the world.  Looks ambitious to me.

Only good could come from this product. I'm sold. Similar services probably exist though.
