I liked the concept - I have found a program called SlideIT with the same concept and more features even I think, and is allready out to the public unlike Swype, here it is:

Shapewriter, http://www.shapewriter.com/ is the competing Swype iphone app, Swype says theirs is better. Impressive demo.
