I've been waiting for the wheels to fall off this team all season, but as 2008 closes down, its more than apparent that for this year at least, they're for real. They're young, cocky and scrappy, and seem impervious to injuries, continuing to win despite several key ones.

I still have doubts about whether their pitching rotation is good enough to prevail in post-season, but they've mostly made a believer out of me.

Nothing could illustrate the wonder of the 2008 season more than to read these comments and then to look at the standings.

HAHA what a joke! And now that they call themselves the "Tampa Bay Rays" that's not gonna change the fact that they still and will always continue to SUCK genital-related paraphernalia.

I'm five star rating only for sympathy... and a hoping that they'll improve (sic) next year. Plus, I'm a native of Tampa (unfortunately). Gotta go with what you have.

I keep waiting for their perennial youth movement to pay off, they always seem to have good young players on the horizon. However, awful attendance and inevitably poor seasons cause me to think that someone, somehow has "Dr. Frankensteined" the old St. Louis Browns.

people don't know what its like to be a d-rays fan. Its actually great. The expectations are so unbeliveably low that we had a parade for a 70-win season. But i have a feeling this team will come into it's own very, VERY soon. Carl Crawford is gonig to be one of the top players for many years, and BJ Upton should devolp into one of the best players in MLB history. We've had a history of being screwed over (Todd Hamilton, Jose Canseco) but if we just increase our payroll (we can do it if the owners stop being do greedy) to 50 mil, we can beat the yanks and sox, no doubt. Our team has more raw talent than a lot of squads, and Lou is one of the great managers of our time.

Aubrey Huff, Carl Crawford and Rocco Baldelli are the stars of the future for this team. They're a young bunch but their starting rotation is slow to develop. Expect a 4th place finish and Lou Piniella's gray hair to turn even grayer.

They'd be a great team if they actually had the PLAYERS.

Tampa Bay deserves a team less then Montreal does, The Rays should be the team moving to DC, and they would be if they didnt have a 22 year lease with the city. Kudos to the players for their big win streak last month, thumbs down to the fans for not noticing.

Stadium is sorry but the younger players might turn this franchise around. Watch out for Jonny Gomes!! And watch out for Rob Bell!!

I'm a Yankee fan, and I really don't like this team, but they really are one of the most up and coming teams in the league. They have arugably the best outfield in the MLB with Huff, Baldelli, and Crawford. Their infield is great, being led by Marlon Anderson. Their manager is, well, a legend. Their problem lies in their pitching. Zambrano is pretty good. In a few years, this might be the team to beat.

They paid Pinella so much money that they had to dump most of the decent players they had on the team. This is still the worst team in baseball.

Cant believe they were made a team, and retraction should be done just to get rid of them.

They have a tough looking middle of the lineup for the 2000 season.
