I think her character on this show was one of the better ones.  And I do agree with Molfan.  They should have got rid of the glasses.  Although she was wise like an owl, they should have never tried to make her look like one.

nerdy without being annoying. too bad they made her look geeky. I know Tracey Gold saying she was not to thrilled at the way the dressed her and made her wear dorky looking glasses. but at least Carol was likable and smart.

Common TV stereotype of the family overachiever who excelled at practically everything. I liked her witty comebacks to her brother Mike's stupidity.
