Pathetic. I'll give them an extra star for the 30-3 drubbing of the Orioles earlier this year. That was impressive.

The Rangers lost out on keeping A-Rod, and now they're stuck in neutral. They can still win some games, but they're far from being a contender team.

An offense rich club with extremely poor pitching most of the time since the 90's. Inconsistent club over the years, has won some division titles, but also has had some terrible years too. Seem stuck in a rut.

They should finish second behind the Angels. Their pitching still stinks but their young stars of Hank Blalock, Michael Young, Mark Teixeira, Laynce Nix, and Alfonso Soriano better put up good numbers if they wanna compete in their division.

They came suprisingly close last year and I wouldn't be suprised if they contented again.
Skizero 02/18/2005
Surprised by these guys last year. Looks like all they needed was to dump off a little dead weight (A-rod and Palmiero) and add ALfonso Soriano to the mix. this could be an exciting year in TExas.

Hopefully Buck Showalter will finally get to reep the benefits of putting together a championship team. World Series victories for both Arizona and the Yankees have his fingerprints all over them, but he wasn't kept around to enjoy either. This team shocked some people in 2004, and young players like Michael Young and Hank Blalock are no longer such a secret. As it always seems to be, the question mark is pitching. Just one solid starter could be what takes this team to the World Series.

What's up with this? Aren't they supposed to be rebuilding?

Dubya Bush used to manage this team and it shows. All that money for some primadonna and they're still feeding off the bottom.
Moosekarloff 06/05/2003
Their pitching sucks, but they have an awesome offense. If this team had a couple of starters it could rely on, they'd beat the crap out of most AL teams. As is, they'll win about 75 games in 2003, which isn't bad for a team that has a AA level pitching staff.

I'm a tried and true fan of the Rangers, and I truly believe they are a great team. The problem is, THEY don't believe they are a great team. They need to get their heads together, because right now, the whole isn't as good as the sum of the parts. Or the paychecks for that matter.

What were they thinking signing A-Rod to a 225 Million dollar deal for 10 years. They'll really be paying when he gets injured for the rest of his career. If it happens.

Sad team, someone really needs to fire there G.M. for poor decisions in the offseason They overpaid for A-Rod Great hitter but average fielding short-stop, signed a couple of senior citizens in Gallaraga, and Caminiti. Now they want to trade Ivan Rodriguez there only true all around star. It's going to be a long season in texas

To be honest with you I live in Texas and have never liked the Rangers until they signed my boy A-Rod and he got all that grief about his contract. He understands that he has to live up to that. Texas is in real need of pichers though. I hope they do GREAT!
Tooglabooglas 12/19/2000
LOOK OUT...The Rangers will be kickin butt and taken names with a lineup that includes A-Rod, Pudge, R. Palmero, A. Guleragga, R. Greer, and K. Caminetti. Watch what they do over the next month to pick up some pitchers.
