The XP series form aiwa is the top of the line CD player series. It is one of the most succesfull selling portable cd player lines in the world. Aiwa has been running thier XP series for more than 15 years and they keep coming out with better and better models. The XP-MP3 is one of the most advanced personal cd players to come out and It can play the following formats CD/CD-R/CD-RW/CD-R w MP3/ and CD-RW w mp3. It does all those formats excellenlty. It also has aiwa's DSL(Dinamic Super Loudness) that electronically controlsthe bass level according to the audio input signal. It also can support up to 80 nested folders a disc. The XP-MP3 is also good with anti-shock and prevents skips before they happen. I really think that this line fo cd players is just excellant. I like what aiwa does with all thier products and they are the best when It comes to sound and vision. I just got the aiwa XP-V7250C and it is the best personal cd player I have ever tested. It is really cool. It has 48 sec EASS and it never skips with it on. and it uses less battery power when the anti shock is on! that is cool. and the bass in this thing is really good, it thomps!!! then eincluded headphones sound way better than most of the supplied headphones in partables. that means you don't have to find a better pair, they allready include a great pair of HP's!!! and mine included a car kit with a wireless credit card sized remote! that means I can control it form accross the room! The resume feature is really cool you can reume where you left off when you stopped the cd paly, as lonmg as you leave the disc in it! that rocks! this cd player is really cool and I love it!!!! Aiwa's products are of the highest quality!!! presonal review on unit:The XP-V7250C is one solid cd player, it features 48/12 sec E.A.S.S 3X antishock technology that makes the unit virtually skip free! In fact it never skips!! I love it!! sencondly the antishock uses less battery powerwhen it's on! The total batterly life for the V7250C is 32 hours with the EASS 3X in the 48 sec mode and 22 hours with it on teh 12 or off mode. that's cool how it uses less batt. power with the antishock on!! coolness! The sound: The sound coming for the XP-V7250C is really clear and clean the highs are sensitive and the bass is really powerful even with the DSL (dinamic super linear) bass boost off, turn it on and the bass really thomps! for headphones it has a huge amount of bass!!! the bass is acutally an eq thing that automatically adjusts the bass level according to the input signal level!! and the included headphones are really cool!!! The other features: the XP-V7250C has the cool headphones, the Car power adaptor, and a cute little credit card sized remote! it also has a car cassete adaptor for listenig over the car stereo!! so this thing is really made for the car! and the antishock and remote really makes it ready for the car!!! the remote really comes in handy if you have it connected to your home stereo and you want to control the unit accross the room!!! the remote works up to 15 feet away!! and aiwa is the only company who gives you a wireless remote with your portable cd player!!! that is sooo cool!!!! and the resume function is cool, if you have it on, and then stop the player, then turn it back on, it remues the cd playbackright where you left off! Last notes: the aiwa XP-V7250C is one cool portable cd player that has so many features I can't list here!!! You gotta hear and x-perience it!!!! Amount Paid (US$): 75

Anti-shock 40 seconds works perfectaly. Has a switch called "hold". The hold switch will make all the buttons you press when it is in this mode not do anything. I bought my player at walmart for about $45, and the headphones sucked, but There are cheep little headphones all over the place. Aiwa makes great audio, and I think they will continue to untill perfection.

Can you say great sound? I have attached this CD player to speakers and it is so nice. The sound is great. You can pump it on headphones and blast yourself out. I totally enjoy any Aiwa product. My boombox was bought when Aiwa was first coming out and it is still great. I enjoy music and I enjoy buying CD players. But this is one of my favorite brands. These CD players are just so great. They are perfect for just taking timeouts discreetly.

Aiwa used to have high quality products. Maybe some are still okay, but not the XP series. I've had two go bad on me. The first one had problems with the laser tracking and the second was Aiwa's replacement they sent to me and the stop button failed. No good.

I own one of these and I have never had a problem with it. I've owned it for eight months. The only proble with it is how fast it eats batteries. If you play it with the anti-shock on it lasts for only 6-8 hours. Overall it is a pretty good product.

Aiwa is the next best thing when it comes to entertainment products. They're a very popular company to the youger consumer. They make quality products that last a person who takes care of their belongings a long time without being defective.

Again, Aiwa's last for an eternity. I've really had no complaints about Aiwa products. Very dependable and quality is number one.

A note to vfernandez: Aiwa is the best in sound quality. Sony sucks. All you hear is high frequency bass and entirely too much treble. Kenwood does sound good, in speakers! Kenwood doesn't make much portable equipment, that why their stuff is priceD so high. For those of you that know sound quality, you would recognize that Aiwa is hard to top. Most people just buy Sony because it's a popular name. Sony is overpriced and cheaply made. I once got a sony cd player for christmas, and I dropped it on the CARPET and it broke. My Aiwa cd player has been dropped too many times to count and it still works perfectly; and i have hardwood floors in my house. Sony adds a lot of useless crap to their equipment just so they can convince you to pay their outrageous prices. Aiwa gives you exactly what you need at the price you will be willing to pay. AIWA IS THE BEST!

Very durable and long lasting, takes a licking and keeping on ticking. The electronic "hold/resume" feature is nice, and it comes with a wall electrical adapter (an added bonus), but the radio reception isn't the best and needs improvement.
vfernandez 10/23/2000
I believe they just don't have as much as Sony or Kenwood, but maybe in time they might be as strong as Sony.

Aiwa makes excellent stereo products at affordable prices.

It's very lightweight and has a good 40 sec. pre-recording application. The sound is also clear and indication of battery power is helpful. However, it can't read copy cds that well.

I really like the battery recharge features. I save money on batteries.

The CD player worked nicely, but the anti-skip did not, so while in the car the CD would skip a lot while driving.
jsga9241du 08/02/2000
A great CD player. Stylish, affordable, compact, reliable, and has an anti-skip.
smil9100om 07/28/2000
Wonderful design. The quality of the sound is perfect. The anti-skip mode is perfect for "on-the-go" people like me.

This CD player has lasted so long, no matter how many times I dropped it, it still works as well as it did when it was new. The sound and bass are really good and it really makes the background music well balanced.
mvil8751du 07/18/2000
Great sound quality. A lot of watts and the sound is very clear. It can make the room rock. Also has a lot of options when listening to music.

I bought mine over five years ago and I don't have a single complaint with this product. The anti-shock feature eats up the batteries, but stops any potential skips. There is a switch that shuts off all of the buttons so that it won't turn on in your bag. I also recently hooked it up to my stereo because my regular CD player broke and it works great. It was also reasonably priced. I would highly recommend it.

A best selling system provided by Aiwa which satisfies a lot of consumers. A slick design and stylish look brings aesthetic pleasure to your eyes.
BooB8589om 07/14/2000
The CD player is excellent. The design is fabulous and the sound is excellent. It's very lightweight and reminds me of a box system.
cara8431om 07/11/2000
Another great CD player. Aiwa has the best sound out of the many CD players that I've owned. Their cost is low, and the sound quality is high. Their durability isn't that great.
J_la8351om 07/09/2000
The Aiwa XP series is very sharp and it lasts long. I have it personally and it sounds great. I recommend it to all who are interested in good CD players.
KHRa8231om 07/07/2000
I rated this item a five because of its quality. The sound is excellent, and it's very lightweight. Also, it's very stylish.
Keyk8158om 07/05/2000
Great sound quality. Minimized skipping at a reasonable price.
magellan 06/15/2000
Not a bad thing to spend $100 on. You can play it in you car through your cassette player, you can use it like a walkman on the plane, and it is pretty small. Makes a great gift too...UPDATE: AFTER A YEAR OF RUGGED USE, MINE DOESN'T WORK ANYMORE. I AM DOWNGRADING FROM A 5 TO 3.
