Receiving it for my Birthday, I am very pleased with my new VCR. My previous VCR (a Sanyo) went on the fritz by everything I recorded looked like the vertical alignment was messed up. JVC wins here. The automatic tracking feature is a charm. Although the clicker is small, it works fine. Programmed recordings come out clear and the pause-recording feature works great for cutting out commercials! It also has great inputs for a satellite unit or a video game system. Highly recommended!

It's the kind I use in my living room. I have a little story to tell, you you have to get comfortable. My recorder broke on my Philips Magnavox, and I had to use it to tape Three's Company that night. I used my JVC HR Series VCR, and it worked, and the picture was sharper, and the screen was bigger.

Auto clock, no flashing 12:00, remote is kinda' flimsy, the buttons stick after a couple of minutes.

Aside from the shape and streamlined figure of it, I like the simple use of it, it's simple service menu, and the simplicity of fixing it. Its shape degraded its ranking, but otherwise it's fine.

This is a good VCR with four heads. Plus, it's inexpensive and a good VCR by a good company. All around good VCR if you don't own a DVD yet.

The JVC HR series is a really good type of VCR. I have one and I love it. When you pause the movie it is clear. When you rewind and fast forward it shows where you are so you can time it just right. Good VCR.

Outstanding piece of equipment. Reliable and durable. I've had one for two years now and have never had a problem with it.

I like the way the VCR is designed. The control is easy to read. The VCR is quite and I like the quality of display. But it is too expensive.

The JVC Series is a good buy, economical. Good performance. Rewinds well, less noise than the cheaper brands.

The JVC HR series is very dependable for the first couple of months, then it crashes and your whole VCR is totalled.

This model was rated very high in "Consumer Report" several years ago, and mine has held up really well as predicted. The picture quality is excellent, and I haven't had any problems at all with it (except for the time my dog chewed up the remote control and I had to order another one!). It was also priced very reasonably. My only complaint is that when I'm programming it, I have to watch the date very carefully. It changes with the time, and it's easy to make a mistake.

I've had one for over four years and it's never given me a single problem. I have a whole home theater system (Denon receiver, Infinity speakers, Energy sub-woofer, Sony TV), and my JVC HR fits in perfectly. The picture quality is excellent and there are lots of great, easy-to-use features (one-touch recording, VCR+, cable box control, etc.). You don't hear a lot about JVC, but, based on my experience with this VCR, it's a great brand.
