A very basic player. Records off the computer, has sufficient space, 50MB was it? Haven't had much of a chance to really test it out but it's nice having something that plays so many songs at once.

This model is only beaten out by the sleeker and smaller Rio500, though the obvious price drop makes this model the choice for the money concious buyer (students). It is like comparing a luxury car to a 4-door sedan; they both get the job done, the 500 just feels like a luxury car.

I love the signature layout and how it is easy to transfer files from the computer to the player. Excellent audio quality.

Despite clever appearance, this MP3 player lacks certain bells and whistles. This player does have a strength in being able to recognize a high percentage of downloaded MP3's. Some other MP3 players will only recognize MP3's downloaded off certain sites.

First one I got. Software is nicely made. Connection lets printer still be connected. Small battery life is long. Limited to 32 internal.

It costs a lot for what it can do. The buttons are hard to use and it is not worth it. There are better players out there.

The PMP300 is a legacy MP3 player that works well with Windows 9X, but should not be used with WinME. Prime reasons for that being that it is a parallel port version and does not support WMA since the company stopped supporting it. The button layout is nice and extremely simplistic. Unfortuately the battery holder has a tendency to not lock at all times if overall wear and tear is beyond normal. It comes with 32 MB built in.

Holds a fair amount of songs. Sleek design. Play quality is good. It takes a little while to download a CD transfer. Small and good for travel.

This is the first MP3 player I ever sampled and I love it. I just wish it had more hard drive space.

This player has great quality recordings. It is light, portable and doesn't skip. The only downside is that it has a limited amount of songs that can fit.

You can take it anywhere. It's black so it doesn't fade away from the other colors. This is what started it all. It's easy to use, comes with great programs, and you can insert memory cards.

I think this is the best MP3 player because it's the best known brand.

It's very easy to load and transfer songs onto the player. The actual player could look a little nicer though. Without a case, the buttons sometimes get pushed.

Light and easy to carry around, however, once dropped to the ground it's history. Also the clip-on device can be easily broken if you pull it out too hard. Soundblaster also came out with a similiar player which is better with more features than this item.

It's a cool player. Only qualm is the memory limitations. If it was up to 64mb at least then it'd be cool. It gets a thumbs up.

Terrible materials used for the product. It's small which is good, but drops easily and the case can break. Battery housing breaks. One battery is a plus.

This MP3 player is cool. There are too many glitches which make it weak. I wouldn't spend money to buy this.

Most overrated piece of electronic equipment out there. Does not have the features of other players out there. Got so much publicity because it was out first but newer models have far surpassed it.

I liked how small it was. Not enough memory. It didn't hold that many songs.

It broke really easy. I had to buy it twice and it still broke. A very bad product.

With only 16 megs of storage, this player sucks. It has a faulty battery case and headphone jack.

Diamond's MP3 players, in my opinion, some of the best. A friend of mine had one, and he never complained about it. One thing I wish would be improved is that the batteries don't last long enough with the Rio.

User friendly. Really easy to operate. My friend owns one and he's always bragging as to how good it is in comparison of other MP3 players on the market.

Unless you have hundreds of dollars to blow on an MP3 player, the Rio PMP300 is probably your best bet. It allows up to 64 megs of space for your MP3s and is very rugged. It flew out of my car and was fine.

Good quality sound. Quite durable. Very cheap and upgradeable to 64 MB. Poorly built machine and easily breakable. Slow parallel connection. Not Mac or Windows 2000 compatible. The bundled software is bad. Not so attractive looking, though functional.

Great MP3 player for the price, but you must download updates for the software as it is full of bugs. You get more memory as well.

The unit is very small, but only 32mb of RAM so it only holds about 32-36 minutes of music. You need to buy a flashcard so the price is too high.

Overall this player has been really good to me. But it came with only 32mb of flash memory, which equals only about 30 minutes of CD quality music.

They were the first to come out with the MP3 player. It's a great design. It's kind of expensive, but it is getting cheaper now. I like how it uses standard compact flash cards so it is easy to upgrade memory.

Diamond Rio made the first and best MP3 player so far. It didn't sell the most units for a new electronic device in a 1999 (Guiness world record) for nothing.

My old boss has a PMP300. We all ohhed and ahhhed over it, and clearly these things are going to destroy the walkman, but this one isn't there yet. If you record at a bit rate that allows any kind of capacity, audio quality was lacking something, and it didn't come with enough RAM. Costs more, but I would only get one of these if you went with the PMP500
