I have had my 40G Lyra for about 1.5 years and I think that, generally, it's quite a good product. Downloading into its pre-arranged categories can be finicky and it has a tendency to freeze if you switch functions rapidly. As for battery life, mine lasts about 7 hours continuous without a charge. In that regard there has been no deterioration in the overall charge capacity of the battery since I purchased it (and i use it almost every day). I could have bought the iPod but, actually, I am pretty happy with the Lyra and I have no real regrets.

I got a 20 Mb Lyra. I guess it works good. I never even saw an iPod when I thought I wanted an MP3 player. But the iPods were so expensive and the Lyra was a bargain in comparison. I'm pretty good with computer file management so I figured it out pretty quickly. The sound quality is fine, though my wife complained that it was a bit tinny. However (correct me if I'm wrong), the whole purpose of MP3 is to sacrifice sound quality for speed of download. I still have dial-up so I usually just download and go to bed. Finding a good music service was a challenge. I settled for one called "Streamwaves.com" which went dormant for a while, then reemerged as "Rhapsody.com" So far, I have been happy with them. The Lyra is great for when I have drudgery tasks like yard work. Just strap it to my skull, and listen to the things I want to hear, which ranges from Frank Sinatra to OutKast.

Avoid this product! Its horrible, I had to return it twice before I got a way better one. The sound messed up after 3 weeks.

Good player but batteries run out fast. Buttons are in a bad place and get hit often. Got a bad one with defects so had to take it back. Other then that it has great sound and is easy to use

Very good sound. Available on the net, which is easier to get. Different functions.

The RCA Lyra is quite a good product. The size is a little large as MP3s go but it is a very attractive product usually and works well. The price is a little high but the quality of the player makes up for it. If you have the money the RCA Lyra is a decent product to purchase.

Well made. Small. Has more options than others. Plays song titles. Compact flash memory so can connect with a CF.

All the MP3 players sound basically the same to me, but the quality behind the RCA Lyra is exceptional.

I really don't like mp3 players because they do not give royalties to the artists.

I have had experience with this item and it is really not that good. I would recommend the Aiwa SE series.

It's great product, I just wish it wasn't so expensive.

This MP3 player is so sleek and the quality is great. It's easy to carry and perfect for downloading all those songs.

The best unit because of its style, and it has 64 mb which allows for more music. Plus, it has an ISLM put in which lets you record without installing software.

It is small, light, very good quality but little options. It is very expensive and has a short battery life.
