Although I'm by no means a big Darth Maul fan, this is (at least in terms of the concept being invented in real life) where the double blade pheneomenon started.

Sort of the middle ground between Ventress and Exar. In the right or wrong, depending on which side your on, hands its a formidable weapon.

I don't like it. I'm not a staff guy and I found it easy to beat if you break the rythym of its user and fight the big ass hilt.

UPDATE: I wonder when X will come to the defense of this saber...

I really wasn't into the Darth Maul's bo staff, but then again, it does seem to be an imposing type of lightsabre. And defensively, it must be a better weapon to use as you probably have a better feel as to where your body is positioned in a double-pronged attack. Then again, user-friendly it probably isn't!
