 | ayl (0) 11/03/2007 | i give it a 2 for its obvious staying power- NEVER ever EVER buy this for someone with out the person recieving it having tried it, and like it previously- it has a different aroma on different people!!! a very odd phenomena of perfumery- this fragrance exemplifies this phenomena---- YOU MUST WEAR THIS FRAGRANCE ON YOUR BODY FOR A FEW HOURS BEFORE YOU DECIDE TO BUY!!!! on some people it smells absolutely disgusting. on others its pure sophistication- HEED my words, or be sorely disappointed!

 | modgirl (0) 05/29/2007 | Chanel No. 5 is graceful and elegant, soft and sexy, yet strong...it reminds me of Ginger Rogers' dancing in a gorgeous flowing white dress. I admire the woman who can wear it. Unfortunately, I am not one of the lucky. My chemistry hates Chanel No. 5 (it smells like cat pee on me), however, I buy it for my mother every chance I get because it smells like heaven on her and if that's as close as I can get to it, well...I guess that will do. It also helps that she loves the scent as well. I'll try it in a few more years (I'm 32 now) and see if it agrees with me then...probably not. My mother has worn it since she was a teen and I guess it has always smelled beautiful on her. Lucky girl.

 | Cassieniccole (1) 04/25/2007 | I recently got this as a gift from my
husband and I am in love with the “mature” elegant scent. I instantly feel sexy
when I put it on. I don’t think it’s something I would have worn back in high
school, but I find it perfectly suited to me now at the ripe old age of 21.
Well worth the price in my opinion!

 | Ninababy (0) 01/08/2007 | When I was younger, I wore 22 and 19 more youthful scents.. did not even like #5. Now that I am 51 I find 5 heady and wonderful.
As for "grand ma" smells you all seem to talk about.
Many times older folks smell of bad perfume because the perfume they use has been around 20 -30 years.. so that really makes it stale.. you gotta wear "fresh" if it hangs around a while.. it smells bad...Sort of turns racid..In its fresh form.. #5 is classic, and classy.. I love it!

 | xcityxglamx (0) 12/29/2005 | no matter how many times i smell this perfume, i think it stinks. i don't care about how many people adore this scent and call it a classic. lets face it, ITS TOTALLY DATED, like an old car.. i've given this perfume so many chances but everytime i just get nauseated.

 | commanderb (0) 01/20/2005 | This is the fragrance by which all other fragrances are measured. As for it not being for teenagers, rubbish! I wore No. 5 and Coco when I was eighteen and it didn't make me smell like a Grandma! It is classic and if you have a nose for amazing olfactory perfections like this, you already know that this is the pinnacle of classic fragrance!

 | fluffytuffy (2) 09/13/2004 | One of the best fragrances around! Truely classic, but not for teen-agers, why would they want to smell like an adult? This fragrance is for the confident woman who KNOWS she is a woman not a girl.

 | Mel30124 (0) 03/23/2004 | I absolutely love the smell of Chanel No.5. It was originally launched in 1921 and is still very popular. Does this not tell you something?

 | tempabsage (0) 09/25/2003 | This scent is not for little girls, its to heavy for teenagers, but just right for those blosoming into their twenties and older. Marilyn Monroe wore this scent back in the day! The perfume has not changed so its certainly reminicent of that time and what was considered sultry. Which I can understand why some folks think its a grandma smell cause our grandmas were once young ladies back in that era... however, it does not mean the perfume is no longer classy or out of fashion. Its a statement that will last. As long as diamonds and blue jeans are in style so will Chanel No 5! A little goes a long way though...

 | Keetsula (0) 03/14/2003 | For some reason or another, Chanel No.5 is not compatible with my body chemistry. It's difficult to smell its high tones, as well as undertones. My sister, however, wears it frequently and it smells lovely. I better stay with Estee Lauder's perfume products. Chanel No.5 is not for me.

 | AlphaThetaGamma (0) 02/15/2003 | If you want to smell like your grandmother, then buy this. If my wife bought this, then I might as well start wearing Old Spice and we'll both smell like senior citizens.

 | jumpbugs (0) 08/23/2002 | JUST TOO CLASSY... If my sister using it, it appeared to me that she tranforms herself from a young lady to an old sophisticated woman. But if my mother using it, the smell is so perfect and suit with her. I think this No 5 is suitable for older women, not teenagers.
4 stars for the fragrance.

 | xiao10369om (0) 09/01/2000 | This fragrance gets a 5 for its stay power. Launched in the 1920's by Coco Chanel herself. Scores of people for about 8 decades have adored Chanel No. 5. The fact that Chanel No. 5 has outlasted almost all trends really says something.
