The real term is EROTIC dancing, but whoever thought it up decided to use a word that was similar sounding (but has nothing to do with it) so it wouldn't sound as sleazy. Before that it was topless, or topless & bottomless dancing. And before that it was just a striptease. But really, you can find the same kind of dancing in night clubs and discos (and TV shows), they just don't take off their clothes while doing it (at least not usually).

i don't think it's the greatest job in the world. it has its pros and cons just like everything else and if you have the right body then go for it. i think a lot of people are too harsh on people who work as exotic dancers but it keeps some unhappy marriages together...

blah blah blah . . . I've been to a strip club twice (for bachelor parties) and been miserable both times. I don't see the appeal in throwing money at some skank for a few seconds of her attention.

The epitome of low class, this form of dancing is degrading, stupid and actually comical if you look at it from a certain perspective. People who do this have no pride and will do anything for money. Those who watch it to get their jollies are pure scum. Sorry, but those are the facts folks.
