Budweiser American Ale 3

Too late to attempt to be a real beer at this point (?). . .

Much better than typical bud. . .improved flavor. . .but it's a solid and not spectacular attempt at amber ale. And much like the auto industry, Bud seems awfully late in getting in the game of delivering a product to many drinkers who turn their noses up at traditional bud.

What a shame Bud didn't introduce this ten years ago and with slightly higher quality/flavor. . .they could've been ahead of (or up with) the craft-brew trend instead of falling behind.

Martha and I were driving out in the boonies last winter and since it was noon or so, I decided to buy a six pack. We stopped at one of those classic country gas stations and I bought a six pack of this stuff. I was pleased with the taste and recommend that you give it a try.

I'm glad that the brewing monolith decided to brew an ale. I wish that it tasted better.

American Ale, tastes bad.... A lot like Bad lake water on hot day. Budweiser is missing the boat by promoting this stuff instead of the Michelob Porter.

The American Ale has an aftertaste that seems to stay with you for a long time.

It's also done cheaply. Must have been the headache the nextday that really caused me to stop and ask....

Why did I buy this crap!

Budweiser American Ale 5

I've noticed theres a trend with the big American breweries to put out different styles of beer than their usual watered down pilseners and lagers. They are trying to compete with the growing craft beer movement, and most of the attempts from these colossal breweries are not up to par with what a decent local brewery puts out. I was extremely surprised by Bud's American Ale. It has a good taste but is easy to put down. There was a nice, subtle sweet flavor with just a hint of hoppiness to it. I had no complaints with American Ale, and will definitely drink it every once and a while. Its not something I would go to if I was looking just for taste. However, if I wanted to knock back more than a few during a game or some other weekend event, it would be a good, affordable choice.

This has to be the best beer around. I have tried many others such as budlight, coors light, miller light, keystone) but they all taste like water and would take 9 or 10 before i feel what 3 budweisers could do. I always go back to Budweiser but i think im here to stay now.

A fine attempt by Bud to make something the craft beer movement will embrace. Did they succeed? I say they hit the center of the Amber style pretty well. Pour it into a glass and drink it a bit warmer than lager beer for best flavors.
