Twilight (Stephanie Meyer) 5

I wish there was a way to rate a 10, no even then it would not come close to how awsome this book is. I have not picked up a book in 10yrs, a friend told me about this series and I devoured all 4 books in 2 weeks and I am a mother of 3,lol. I have already gotten a lot of my friends hooked as well. The book is like a live fairytale, when you read it you just put yourself into it and it's like your there. I have just finished Midnight Sun. Shephanie, I know you feel so violated for what happened to you. I am so sorry that someone would take something like that away from you. I really hope you reconsider writing the rest of it. I actally think it might end up being better then Twilight, it is that good. Now that I read all 264 pages, I am dying to read more...Please Please finish Midnight Sun!. I am now in the process of reading Twilight a second time before the movie comes out. Thank you so much for changing my life and for introducing reading back into my life. Please finish Midnight Sun, Please.

This was a grabbing plot with fun characters to discover. I loved the sweet love story. It's been fun to be able to share it with so many friends and their daughters!

My sister introduced me to the Twilight saga and I'm very happy to say that she did. The book was a well written series. There was only one problem that I had with the series and that was the character of Veronica. (If you haven't read the series STOP now!!!) To me the start with the character was that she was unstopable and then in the 3rd book she comes to death in one chapter. To me this seems unfair towards that character and the build up that she was given. Other than that I would highly recommend the series to anyone and trust me it gets addictive. Enjoy!!

Twilight (Stephanie Meyer) 2

I could make a list of all the things wrong with this book. At first, I thought, "Well, I kinda like it... I don't know why." And then I started listing off the bad, and couldn't come up with any good, but I'll do my best. *Spoilers, here be*

1. The vampire legend: GOOD that Stephanie Meyer tried to do something else with the vampire legend. BAD that she made scary vampires into pretty, twinkling beings. What is that?

2. Why does Bella love Edward? He's so bipolar (forgive me for using that term). He loves her, and then he tells her to stay away. I get it, you're dangerous. But WHY does she love him other than the fact that he's gorgeous? And for that matter, why does Edward love Bella? Is it because she's helpless? Is it because she falls all the time? Are we supposed to think this is adorable? All I wanted to say was, "B****, stop getting into trouble!"

3. Why is Bella so needy? Okay, it's her first love, but I hope she grows a spine in the next books (which I might not even be able to bring myself to read).

4. Stephanie Meyer rambles on for literally half the book before any action starts to take place. She describes Bella's day in real time: "Today I went to school. Edward wasn't there. So-and-so talked to me. I had a turkey sandwich." Gah, skip!

5. I've read better fanfiction than this, and that's in no way a "diss" on anyone who writes fanfiction. But for getting as much attention as she has, I would expect a writer who's getting published to be - well - better.

6. Finally, this book has no depth. I could almost look past the lack of imagination if I felt there was any depth to this book. I am going to go out on a limb and say Harry Potter has more depth than this, and I'm NOT kidding.

Now that I've listed the bad, I see that my liking this book even a little is foolish. If you actually got past my review and decided to read it still: read it with a very open mind and bring your imagination with you. You'll need it.

Twilight (Stephanie Meyer) 4

I picked up Twilight on a whim--I had heard it was popular and that there was a movie coming out, so, I decided to read it. I am older than the target audience--22--but completely game for any good story.

In short, I liked the novel. Some of the writing could have been tightened--the use of "grimaced" and "scowled" bordered on absurd. Also, in the first book a hint of what I -hated- about the next two started to appear: Bella's irrational, codependent love for Edward (which even he seems to think is a bit unhealthy). I think the story could have been much deeper if Bella had developed into a stronger character.

That said, I enjoyed the story and, at the time, couldn't wait to get my hands on the sequels.
