Avon has been around for a very long time and they have been helping women earn their own money and build their own business. Avon is not a "Get Rich Quick" Scheme! If you treat Avon like a real business, with real business expenses and put thought and time into it you can be successful. You are not forced to recruit people(I know that people do push that side of the business a lot and make the company look bad). There are many ways to run your Avon business, since you are the boss you get to decide. Some things you can do include: Fundraisers, home parties, Beauty Advisor, Mark, erepresentatives and the list goes on. My reasons for loving Avon: I can do this in my spare time, I decide how hard I work at it, make new friends, meet lots of new people, I'm not shy anymore, I've gained new skills, I can measure my success. If you're thinking about trying Avon, do a lot of research, don't believe every negative thing you read(there's always more to the story) and watch out for people who are just out to make money off you they won't be very helpful when you're starting your business.

I use to buy Avon products, but never had any interest in selling it.

I love Avon products, but what I don't like is how they make their money. They bring woman to believe that they will be able to make a lot of money while selling Avon products and most of the time, these woman are poor, have children etc. They make the person pay for their starter kit and they also make the representative pay for her samples and many other promotional items. They give only 10% to 50% of the sales to the representative. To make a good profit, the representative needs to sell a lot ! Of course, the most expensive items usually don't count for the rebate. You also have to count the costs of the representative for her promotional items, samples, marketing etc.. They even make the person pay for the brochures, those little magazines. So, in the end, they are using these woman to sell for them, take care of the transactions, promote & they give them next to nothing in return. They even claim to encourage woman's financial independence ! In my opinion, they found a way to use cheap labor right here in our North American countries and it's about time someone speaks up.
