06/27/2007 | Ferocious rivalry fueled by what amounts to outright hatred at times.
Made more virulent because both teams have been good for many years.
As a Red Sox and baseball fan, it pains me to say this, but this is probably a bigger, more deep-seated rivalry than Red Sox-Yankees.

06/25/2007 | I have seen the commercial that numbah was talking about. An Ohio State Guy making out with an Michigan Girl. It was wrong in so many ways. This is a big time rivalry. The last game of the Big 10 Conference for this two. Hell of a way to end a season. Beat the team you hate the most, or get beat!

06/24/2007 | If you have ever spent time in these states, you will understand. . .if you have east or west coast bias, you might not understand- but this is like the Palestines versus the Israelis, the Catholics versus the Protestants, and dubya bush versus anyone with a solid grasp of the English language. . .

06/24/2007 | I am an Ohio State alumnus. I remember one time three or
four years ago my roommate and I were watching the local news during
Michigan week. It was a couple days before the football game, but
every channel's news program seemed to be completely devoted to the
game. I was getting frustrated with the lack of other topics when
I turned to my friend and said "you know the Apocalypse could be going
on right now and we wouldn't know about it because its Michigan
week." People in Columbus are obsessed with this football
rivalry.

11/11/2004 | Whoever doesn't know how big this rivalry is..it's the greatest of all time..it even was voted by ESPN as the greatest of all time here's why they say it is..
When Ohio Stadium opened in 1922, Michigan spoiled the party with a 22-0 victory. The rivalry was heated in the early days as both have been long-time college football powers. But it got even hotter in 1969, when Bo Schembechler took over as Michigan's coach and upset Woody Hayes' No. 1-ranked, undefeated Buckeyes. Four times in the next six years, both teams were ranked in the top five when they met. In 1970 and 1973, both were undefeated (they tied 10-10 in '73). From 1970 through 1975, Michigan entered without a loss every year. The Wolverines won just once. Ohio State was 9-0-1 in 1993, 11-0 in 1995 and 10-0 in 1996. The Buckeyes lost each time. That is rivalry.
