One of my favorite actors, and one who is frequently under-rated. His career has been largely one of a character actor, and he's not only damned good at it, he shows considerable range of talent. He won an Oscar as best supporting actor for Iris, but he could have easily won it for Gangs of New York, in which he manages to dominate some scenes he has with Daniel Day Lewis (no easy accomplishment) or for Richard III where he plays the subtle, syncophantic and utterly corrupt Buckingham.
