Harley Davidson FLH Series 5

I currently ride a 2003 Road King Classic, before that I owned a 1990 Fatboy bought new. My first bike was a new Suzuki 1977 GS750 then a '80 GS1000 & then a '82 GS750. I always get a kick out of reading Harley basher reviews! I remember back when I was riding Suzuki's, and AMF owned H-D. I was bashing them myself! Everyone definitely has a right to their own opinion and I'm not one to try and change anyone's. I'll just throw in my 2 cents and tell how my experience has been. Between the two Harley's I've owned I have ran up over 100,000 miles and ridden to every State in the lower 48. There has only been a couple of small mechanical glitches that I ran into over that time, and when it has happened I couldn't have asked for more help from the complete strangers I met who helped get me to a shop or even invite me into their homes while repairs were made even if overnight! The best people I have met were Harley riders at different rallies throughout the country. This to me has been one of the most enjoyable aspects of riding my H-D, second only to just listening to the purrr of the big V-twin while cruising through some scenic back country roads thinking 'there's nothing I'd rather be doing right now'! So my hat's off to all you rider's out there and no matter what you ride I will still give you a wave as I cruise by!

Bike I have owned in order GPZ550, KZ1100, Honda V45 Sabre, FLHTC, GL1500 Goldwing, Currently own Kawasaki Voyager and a KLR650. Enjoyed every bike. To the Hog haters, If you haven't riden it or owned why rate it? My FLHTC was a joy to own, put 48,000 on it in the 3 1/2 years I owned it, had no more mechanical problems than on any other bike I owned, except for the Goldwing(strangly my other honda was the worst for mechanical problems Hazzards of owning a model in its first year of production). Took on two trips from PHX, AZ to Daytona, and never had a worry with it, smooth ride, always felt relaxed.

Harley Davidsons are pound for pound the biggest joke out there. They are overpriced, loud, obnoxious, and slow. Harley Davidson was better off sticking with AMF/VOIT making bowling products.

The thing about Mr. Parker is that he's allowed his opinion, just like me. I happen to love the HD experience, even after riding Japanese scoots since 1973! From a Honda CB175 up to a Kawa 1100 Ninja with many in between, nothing, and I mean NOTHING compares to a big American motorcycle. I don't want to scream around the streets anymore, I want to enjoy the whole experience, the sound, feel and absolute joy of riding a work of art, a beautiful, dependable machine that gets me out riding in style, just for the fun of it. My Road King accomplishes that and much more! Mr. Parker would do well to open his mind up a bit and spend a day with a Harley between his legs.

Question: What's the difference between a Harley Davidson and a vacuum cleaner? Answer: You can only fit one dirtbag on a vacuum cleaner! Seriously, nothing says Look at me, I'm starved for attention! like the roar of a Harley. Guys who ride these things almost always have issues with their mothers, in addition to trying to compensate for being small in the pants.
