My Husband and I have been Verizon Customers for years. Recently he purchased a new Verizon Phone on-line and went into the store to have his contacts updated onto his new phone. A service that is normally free if the phone is purchased in the store. But because we purchased it from www.verizon.com they charged us $10 for the service. . This is riduculous! Verizon, you need to change this policy. It is insulting to your valued customers.

Terrible! Had them before changed to Alltel & they were MUCH better but now Verizon owns Alltel. In the month since the take over I've had my phone out of service for 9 days & they claim they can do nothing about it but send me yet another replacement phone via mail in 2 or so more business days. They have 100's of phones in their store but they can't give me one? I even offered to buy an upgraded phone & they say they cant do. Bunch of frickin jokers!

I just tried switching to Verizon. I was hoping to go to a network with better coverage locally and nationally AND get a discount through my employer. First try to switch, they emailed to inform me that my number was not available to port. Called current provider and they had no requests to port my number (I'm out of contract). Second try, Verizon emailed back asking for a fax of Social Security and Drivers License cards. Why? They already had the information. Emailed them that I would not fax them due to concerns about identity theft. Their response: " We understand your concern regarding becoming a victim of identity theft. Since our Credit Review Team received no hits from any Credit Bureau when they ran your credit application, if you want to begin service, we need to verify your identity. There will also be a $400.00 security deposit required for each line of service you wish to establish. We are very sorry for the inconvenience." What? Who are they kidding? This phone retails for $300 and why would I pay a security deposit for a two-year contract? If I have loads of bills, how come they can't find anything on me? FISHY!

VZW is awful. They make employees deceive customers by selling them items they do not need. The FCC and government must put a stop to this. Also they treat employees like they are just a number. I have heard and witnessed several unethical things. I am sure that it is not this bad every where but depending where you are from you may want to steer clear of this company! God bless.

verizon wireless is the greatest you can get. so what at&t has the iphone its not that great i mean the apps are cool but the phone has no flipout/slideout qwerty keyboard. and to change the battery you have to send it to maintenece it has no battery cover! plus if you drop it theres no insurance so you have to pay the full price to get another one. verizon phones like the rogue arent anything wierd like that.

Until today thanks to Brandon all my phone would do is send me a message that my number was either invalid or not actice. I did not get his address but you might track it from the ticket number 3165623. Thanks to Brandon I did not go to a competitor. After a week of no help I was tired of the "on hold" message telling me how good the service is with Verizon when in reality what I received was "appologies" but no help. Everyone I spoke to was sorry (only tool at hand) except Brandon who saved the day. Michael Robison

Your paying for customer service and some of the best reception... BUT1) Its expensive. I pay 20-30% more than most of my friend's plans with other providers. I pay about $85 while i have friend with similar minute plans paying $60-70. 2) insurance policy stinks. I recently had replace my enV2 (bought it new). You pay $5/mo. Most people will lose or need a replacement (outside of basic warranty) maybe once a year. However on top of the $5/mo you also have to pay $50. Most phone retail for $100-200 so your really not saying money. In the end, I paid around $75 (including insurance) for a phone retailing at $30 on their website... AND if wanted to pay the $30, I would STILL have to renew my account for another 2 years... otherwise Im forced to pay $150 for a repalcement... which is what replacing the phone costs in the first place... makes no sense. smart people dont pay!3) My biggest peeve about Verizon is anytime you want to make adjustments to your plan your forced into extending your plan for another 2 years. (1 year plans are not worth consideration, way over priced). If your have the money sure, but with more and more providers gaining better reception and service, Verizon is becoming a has-been. I will ending my cell contract as soon as my contract is up. The Telecom industry is robbery!

VERIZON SUCKS. I have been with them for 19yrs. Before cell plans. I have faithfully payed out my a-- happily for years. But then my new phone had a warranty claim, They sent me a new phone.I went to the local store, had them do the transfer and they handed me back the old phone. I asked them why wouldn't you just keep it. They told me you have to send it back. HOW MORONIC IS THIS PRACTICE. So that same day I put phone in box put on their fedex call tag that they sent with new phone. Stood in my office and watched fedex driver scan the box. Next thing im getting billed 400 for phone they cant find. they wont give me tracking # and think that I am so stupid that I believe that they cant track it. So I will not pay 400 have called 14 so called service reps which were all going to look into it, ending with Marivel at (210)679-4520 who promised a return call in 24 hours!. Its now been 7 days and haven't heard from her yet. So now all three of my phones and air card have been turned off. SO I ASK THEM ,( CAN YOU HEAR MY LAWER NOW?!)

If you live in the mid-west, but do a fair amount of traveling, Verizon really is your best option. Their coverage is almost always as good or better than their major competitors. I've never used any other company, but I've been places with people on other networks, and it's very rare for someone else to have coverage when I don't. I get a signal when AT&T customers don't, which is probably the next best of the major companies. T-Mobile and Sprint are jokes once you get away from major population centers. The only network which has better coverage in many rural areas of the mid-west is US Cellular, and their plans are apparently a little cheaper. But once you get out of the mid-west, their coverage gets a bit spotty. My only issue with Verizon is their lack of reasonable options when traveling out of the country, but since I leave the US only once ever year or two, it's really not a big deal for me.

worst customer service in Eastern/St Rose Las Vegas location! I had just bought my phone about a week ago. The screen was damaged... Verizon would not replace it eventhough it has only been a week since I bought it. I will pay $340 (two lines) for the early termination fee and will be switching to AT&T tomorrow. Verizon will not get any more money out of me after that!

Worst customer service ever !!I was charged for the full price of the phone even after I signed a new contract. I am calling them in this regard for over 5 months and every time I hear a new story with a conclusion that I will get the refund in 10 business days. It never has happened. This is not the only complaint from them. I was getting billed for unusual things.I was taxed for two different state taxes and they never fixed it.I ultimately closed the account but kept the number. My new ATT network has a comparative network with a cool iPhone. I was VZ customer since 2002. So long.

Well, Let me began with I have been a loyal Verizon Customer for over 10 years, my monthly bill is low at $250.00 and has gone as high as $ 600.00 for a months service. I have spent thousands on their equipment sometimes at full retail……It was just part of life……till tonight…..Tim the customer service representative found humor to the point of laughing out loud with the fact I had spent hours on the phone trying to resolve a mistake made today that totally screwed up my cell service and account... by a another Verizon customer service rep. ….and he still did not have the information to correct them…..I then spoke to Ron, Tim’s supervisor……he too informed me he (Ron) in all probability was not competent to complete the task of correcting the error. Changing a phone number and a wireless card plan……ANDSince my contracts were up…. he suggested I go to another service:Thank You Ron—Verizon Wireless Customers Service Rep…Employee 5393…..The best thing Verizon did for me today….. They finally let me talk to you….wish it had been hours ago….And sir I will take your advice and sign up with a new wireless service ASAP……

First of all....I have to state that I adore my phone. I have the enV Touch and it's perfect. I am completely satisfied considering that aspect. More importantly though, Verizon has the WORST customer service, or lack of rather. I have had Verizon for two months now and have been trying to contact a LIVE person consistently for a month and a half of my contract to get my rebate card pin number (only to get transferred when I can finally get through to a live person.) They sent me a rebate debit card....and no pin number. Perfect. So currently I have a $70 debit card...or rather I don't because I can't contact anyone for my pin.... YAY for bad/no Service!~Not happy in Spokane Wa and $70 poorer

*Update* Verizon is the last barrier standing between me and an iPhone. When all of my iPhone friends are without network, or with trickling data speeds, my Verizon powered connection is usually blazing away. Being able to connect to the network is pretty important to me, and the ATT situation just seems to be getting worse. If Verizon sucked as much as ATT does, I'd have an iPhone by now. But they don't.*Original Comment* I switched to Verizon from Sprint PCS about 2 years ago, and I have no regrets. The network really is superior, I've had no problems with the customer service, and there seem to be plenty of good phones (I use the Motorola Q).My only complaint is that I can't run an iPhone on this network - and I guess that's more of an Apple complaint than a VZW one (though I heard that VZW dropped the ball in negotiating an iPhone deal.)
gheilpern 07/28/2009
My critieria for a good service provider is reception and customer service. On these two criteria my experiences over the past five years I've been a Verizon customer have been so positive I'll never have to switch. Yes, I want an iPhone but what good is the iPhone when you don't have AT&T reception in your house. Verizon is more expensive than their competition so if you're looking for the best price they are not the place to find it. However if you travel for business all over the country and just care about reception and getting help when you really need it then Verizon is fantastic. I've also had an Internet card with Verizon and again their reception is the best. There's nothing better than being in a presentation in Fresno, CA and watching your competitor's AT&T webcard reception dip in and out and you have consistent high speed access - my Verizon card helped me close a tone of deals and for that I appreciate their service.

I recently ported my numbers over from Alltel after the merger with Verizon, I received 3 phones One of which I love, The other 2 are total junk (LG VX5500), I can state at this time when Verizon states that you have a 30 day Hassle free return policy They mean You have 30 days of customer service, After which time they don't want to hear from you with any issues, Just pay your bill on time and keep your trap shut. I have been trying to get these 2 defective phones exchanged for a different model since both are same model and both are having the same issues for getting close to a month now and have not had satisfaction in any way.I started my account out with mailing the phone for my daughter to her since she is away at college,I next went on a family vacation camping trip for 15 days, during this time we only really used my phone and the other 2 sat idle, After we returned I did not hear from my daughter for several weeks since she is very busy with classes, This put me past the 30 days of customer service, When next I talked to my daughter she was calling to complain about the phone issues she was having, Missing calls, settings changing, crappy sound quality (no wonder I could not reach her) This cell phone is her only phone at college. My wife has the other and has had much the same experience, She uses the speaker for hands free and it has such bad sound quality you have to hold it next to your head to try to hear through the static and tin can sound that this phone suffers from Making the feature un-usable and useless.I am told they would be happy to replace my brand new phones with previously returned rejected phones of the same model that another customer returned within the 30 days of customer service window, I have no desire to have somebody elses rejects as a phone to anchor a 2 year contract, So far I have been totally dissatisfied with the customer service and with the lack of backing they put on their product line. I do not feel that this should be such an obstacle to get past and these phones should be returned as defective to LG. I could be a happy customer but so far I have been treated like I am the enemy when I write or contact them, Nothing but double talk and dancing around the real issue Which is they just don't really care to make a happy customer they just want you to go away. This issue is still in the air, I still have defective phones, They still arent going to replace them with anything but used rejects and tomorrow I'm supposed to talk to a manager of customer services manager to try to get this resolved, Bigger does not by any means mean that they are necessarily the best. So far I am nothing but disappointed...

I was just about to switch from Tmobile to Verizon because of the superior wireless service. However, I have found terrible reviews here and on amazon and every other review website I've visited. Everyone complains about their customer service. The funny thing is that there are responses from people who claim to work for Verizon trying to defend their company but really they sound just as crappy mean and bitchie as they are mentioned in the reviews. I think I'll keep Tmobile or check out ATT.

Terrible consumer service. I dont recommend it at all. I started to use ATT which is great.
bhb192 07/09/2009
Verizon has the best coverage, including EV-DO, in the US by far. If you just need a phone that works for calls then Verizon is the way to go. However, if you are expecting features of convenience from your mobile phone I would not suggest this provider. Anything extra is somewhat costly (such as mobile broadband internet access) and with their carrier-specific standardized OS on all of the phones, the features of your seemingly high-end handset will be similar to those of freebies. As a consumer you are extremely limited to what you can do with your handset and "customizing your phone to fit your lifestyle" is out of the question - Verizon has complete control of everything you do on your phone and things such as ringtones, wallpapers, and applications will likely be acquired through a Verizon service, for a price of course. Also, since Verizon is a CDMA carrier, there is no such thing as a SIM card or instant changing of devices. All device changes must be recognized through the carrier and because the market for CDMA devices is shrinking daily, it will likely have to be a Verizon-branded phone.
slemmin 07/06/2009
I had to switch from a local carrier because of some problems with someone harassing me. Verizon was able to block the calls. However, the first month's bill came and it was $170!!! I do get unlimited minutes, but I was paying $40/month with Mobi PCS for unlimited minutes plus unlimited texting. This is ridiculous. Plus I am locked into a 2 year contract. If you can help it, stay away. It is not worth the price!
Ira2009 06/30/2009
They have the worst customer service ever and they don't care if they loose a customer to another competitor. I wanted to cancel my contract and had AT&T and Verizon both, so I carry iPhone 3G and Samsung SCH-U740. Despite whatever they advertise, AT&T had far more better coverage and call quality. They charged me more (early termination fee) but I would not want to give them my business. Their cell phone collection sucks and you can't use it outside USA ( CDMA technology), their customer service is horrible. There is no manager to talk to. They write your complaint down and when you call again, they ask the same question again!!No wonder they have to pay for 24/7 false advertisement on TV!!!Stay away from Verizon.
kjSean 06/21/2009
Verizon Wireless is as promised: America's largest 3G network. I had no dropped calls. Verizon has lots of great phones. The call quality is great. The customer service is outstanding. Definitely recommended.
zfilms 06/18/2009
Verizon wireless is the worst, the worst wireless provider by far....The worst customer service you can think of and their prices up the sky. I wouldn't recommend Verizon to any of my friends or stranger.
bigbybye 06/17/2009
The network is the best, that I must admit. However, they did overcharge me repeatedly and often refuse to credit the overcharges. Nothing a representative says can be trusted, and even if you provide their name and ID number to a supervisor. They will just say they "have no record" and continue to give you the proverbial shaft.
lma3113 06/15/2009
I think Verizon has a great network. I have never had any dropped calls on my end, and the sound has always been crystal clear. However, the customer service stinks. I have called them on numerous occasions only to get unhappy customer service reps who don't know what they are doing. I can't tell you how many times I have been hung on because I was being "transferred." If you want a telephone service I would say go with Verizon, but if you deal with Customer Service a lot I would say skip Verizon!
cellfish 06/03/2009
Okay people, here's the thing. Everyone who is complaining comes off sounding ridiculously uneducated because they forget to apply the facts while they are telling their sad tale of woe. Lack of knowledge is ignorance, not genius. I find that people, as a group, just don't listen and they don't bother to read the fine print. When things start to go wrong, they blame the company that THEY chose to buy from. No one twisted your arm behind your back to make you sign a two year agreement. That being said, I also must add that I do feel bad for people who have the misfortune of dealing with lousy, greedy sales reps and lazy, rude customer service people. One thing to keep in mind though; if you are behaving badly, how can you expect to be treated respectfully? Don't be mean, don't swear at the person you are requesting help from, don't pretend you don't know that your "2 year pricing" isn't subsidized by the contract when something goes wrong and you didn't insure your phone and, most importantly of all, don't expect your phone to work ABSOLUTELY EVERYWHERE where there can't realistically be cell phone towers everywhere. I'll be honest. I work for Verizon Wireless. It's the most miserable job I've ever had. It's not entirely the company that makes it so though. I had the misfortune of being hired to work in a store that is poorly managed by a 24 year old kid who wouldn't know what consistency was if it crawled up his butt. I stay solely for the money and benefits. As a retail rep, I listen to garbage like these posts every day of my life and wonder why people have no common sense at all. The fact is, Verizon has the best coverage of any cell provider in the US. No, it's not free and you are not entitled to all the free stuff you can lug off just because you think you're that special. It is a FOR PROFIT corporation and it's not in the business of giving things away on demand. If a company wants to stay solvent, they have to have rules (a.k.a. fine print) and policies in place to guard against people just like you. Can you imagine the amount of paper you'd be taking from the store with you if everything was written in the same large print? And it's not like people would take the time to skim over it even if it was. If you take on a contract expecting to get scammed that's exactly how you're going to feel from the first time something happens to burst your self-created bubble. Most people are pretty savvy about contract cell service and understand the concept of subsidizing the devices but fail to understand how insurance, warranty and new every two works. The advertising doesn't say FREE every two either. It states that you can get a free phone not that you can pick any phone you want and walk out with it for nothing. The free phones are the basic, cheap ones. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to get that. To get free phones, you have to be the primary line (which is the only one eligible for the $50 or $100 new every two credit) and upgrade during a promotion that allows you to buy one and get up to three free. You also have to accept that the free ones aren't going to be the latest, greatest gadgets available. The purchased phone must be $150 or less to make it free after rebate. Get it? So quit whining and complaining. You will move on to another carrier and find that there is little difference other than the logo on the bag...and you won't be any better off except that your phone will work in fewer places leaving you to meditate in quiet while your phone searches for service. Good luck.
hatesverizon2 05/17/2009
Verizon sucks. Every person that works there thinks that they are the smartest person to walk the planet earth, yet if that were true, why would they be working at Verizon...? Anyways I've had them for a long time and never had a problem... except for the last year or two. Their phones always break, (this has happened to my husband and I more than once)and if it's not covered by warranty you have to use your insurance, which by the way is 5.99 each phone a month...say you and your husband have been paying 5.99 for both phones, thats 11.98, multiply that by 12 for a year worth of paying thats about 144.00 dollars right there, and with the insurance plan you have to pay 50 dollars to get a refurbished p.o.s sent (you have just paid 200.00 in insurance alone, you could get a whole new nicer phone!!!) to you and send yours back so they can refurbish yours. Its not cool. Then when you call with a problem they offer you free services and low and behold those "free try-out services" show up on your bill. They did finally refund them, but it's the fact of the matter. They waste your time with nonsense, they act like their willing to help you but really they just want to argue. I hate their services, I tried to let a few things go, but it just gets really old when they overcharge you and you have to call them and let them know that what they are doing is totally wrong, its very tiresome. Go to AT&T.

I bought a broadband card and was told that the service is great and you could never go over the minutes. I had the service for 4 days, the service was TERRIBLE and somehow I went over the monthly allotment of 5GB in 4 days. I returned it and had to call to cancel the service. I had to pay a $25 restocking fee and then was billed $100 for 4 days. I am still exchanging letters but it looks like I will have to pay it. Don't use Verizon!!!!!!!
rakehell 05/11/2009
I bought several Verizon Ringtones and then upgraded to a new phone. According to the Ringtone Terms and Conditions, I have a license to use these ringtones for a year. However, Verizon wants me to re-purchase the ringtones I hold a year-long license to transfer them to my new phone. Their Terms and Conditions do not say anything about this for either Ringtones or Phone Upgrade. The Customer Server Representative verified verbally that neither of these Terms and Conditions state anything about having to re-purchase my already purchased ringtones during a conversation on 5/11/09 around 2pm MDT, which I confirmed that Verizon recorded. I believe this is fraud because they are attempting to charge me for something I have already paid for. Ironically, while the customer service rep was checking the Terms and Conditions to verify, the ad playing on the phone said that I could get new equipment and return it within 30 days AT NO CHARGE. I just had an issue with them the day before where they were trying to CHARGE ME A RE-STOCKING FEE because I returned a cell modem within 30 days. If I had not saved the chat text with one of their reps stating clearly that there were NO CHARGES if I returned it within 30 days, they would have charged me. Do you see the pattern here?
aryank19 05/03/2009
I think Verizon has great service. I have never had 0 bars with them anywhere except in big buildings such as my workplace. They do have a terrible selection of phones though. They need to step it up a notch. My only complaint with Verizon is their customer service rep ANNIE at the Veterans Parkway location in Columbus, Ga. I have dealt with her on multiple occasions and she is the least bit helpful every time.
Mr Evangel 04/01/2009
Another Company that dosn't understand that if you take care of the Customers they will be lifetime Customers. They have no Free Upgrades like they advertize its actually pretty expesive if you want a nice phone and you have to wait 2 years for a discount. What if I want to get a new phone before two years is up? They punish you by making you pay full price. I'm with them but not for long if they keep it up. Whats up with At&t coming out with the Awesome phones and tecnology lets go Verizon kick it up a notch.
paigie 03/20/2009
ok so first the actual wireless service of verizon is pretty good. I never really had a problem picking up service anywhere and if you call and upgrade to the closest tower it wiil pick up anywhere. But the customer service IS COMPLETELY RIDULOUS....RUDE AND WILL TELL YOU ONE THING AND THEN CALL YOU A LIAR.....AND THE FALSE ADVERTISMENT IS A LITTLE ANNOYING YOU THINK THAT YOU ARE GETTING ONE THING AND THEN IT IS NOT WHAT THEY PROMISE....LIKE THE FREE UP GRADE.....I JUST UPGRADED AND IT COST ME $200......THEIR MOTTO SHOULD BE WE ARE IN IT FOR THE MONEY AND OURSELVES FORGET THE STUPID CUSTOMERS BECAUSE IF THEY ARE DUMB ENOUGH TO GIVE US MONEY THEN WE ARE STILL GETTING PAID......BUT I GUESS THATS TO LONG......

I have been a Verizon customer for over 10 years and have not had any trouble until now. My husband and I recently upgraded our phones with our "New Every Two" feature. My husband got the Env2 and I got the SMT5800 by Verizon. I had trouble with the phone; it kept shutting off on me even when I had full battery strength. I had to take the back cover off, remove the battery then re-install it and replace the cover before I could turn the phone back on. I called the customer service (800) # and was told that under the 30 Day Worry Free Guaranty I could exchange it. I went into the store and decided to get the Env2 like my husband has. I ended up having to pay a $35 restocking fee that I wasn't aware of. Yes, it is in the "Terms and Conditions" and I should have read them before making any purchase but come on...who reads the entire terms and conditions? In the store, there are posters plastered all over the place about the Worry Free Guaranty though in the bullet points listed under it with all of the benefits of this guaranty there is nothing telling of the $35 restocking fee if you wish to take advantage of it. The kicker for me is that the SMT5800 was free to begin with because of online discounts when I bought it so basically I had to pay Verizon to take the FREE phone back. I told the customer sevice rep in the store (who was very nice and tried to do what he could) that I was thinking about just returning everything and letting my contract run out. He was not authorized to do anything to try to retain me as a customer. I feel like Verizon just told me not to let the door hit me on the way through it! So I returned everything and plan to allow my contract to run out in June of this year (2009) and scout out my options. I hear some of the other companies offer things like "Friends and Family" or "my 5" and roll over minutes! I think I'll check them out.
44Mr48 02/24/2009
Can you hear me now! No! Had verizon wireless for two years and could not get service anywhere but in town. This is the worst wireless carrier on the market.
SubaruFiend222 02/18/2009
Ok, seriously..... a lot of people who are b#tching about Verizon really truly ARE ignorant...........a.) Read your contract COMPLETELY and THOROUGHLY!b.) THEY OFFER INSURANCE!!!! So if you BREAK your phone you can get it replaced through ASURION! NOT THRU VERIZON. If you get INSURANCE, you have to call the INSURANCE company..... NOT VERIZONc.) Yes they are more expensive, but EVERYTHING they have is WITHIN their company, they DO NOT OUTSOURCE like ALLLLLLL the other wireless companies do! Their call centers are THEIR call centers. Their towers are ONLY their towers!d.) If you do not RECEIVE A BILL there are 3 other ways to pay it...... you can view it online and pay it, you can go into a store and pay it and you can pay it over the phone! JUST BECAUSE YOU DON'T RECEIVE A BILL DOESN"T MEAN A BILL DOESN'T EXIST, and therefore you are STILLLLL responsible to pay for it!e.) If you have a defective PHONE that is NOT Verizon's fault! So stop bashing Verizon when the PHONE messes up! (Verizon doesn't make the phones...... LG, SAMSUNG, BLACKBERRY, NOKIA, ETC...... Those are who make the phones!)f.) If you DO have a defective phone it HAS a ONE YEAR WARRANTY! You can either SEND IT OUT to the MANUFACTURER (Lg, Samsung, Blackberry, Etc) and pay shipping charges, pay for them to fix it, etc.......... OR you can get it replaced with a REFURBISHED PHONE THRU VERIZON! Your phone is USED...... even if it's only a MONTH OLD it's still USED! Therefore Verizon will NOT give you a BRAND NEW PHONE! You are ENTITLED TO A REFURBISHED PHONE!................. (THIS ONLY APPLIES TO MANUfACTURER DEFECTS...... if you PHYSICALLY DAMAGE IT, HAVE IT LIQUID DAMAGED OR YOU LOSE IT OR HAVE IT STOLEN THEN YOU MUST HAVE INSURANCE TO GET IT REPLACED...... if you don't have insurance and you have done one of these things..... then EXPECT TO PAY FULL RETAIL FOR A NEW PHONE!........ Verizon offers insurance for A REASON! )g.) INSURANCE AND WARRANTY ARE TWO TOTALLY SEPARATE THINGS!!!!!!!!! KNOW THE DIFFERENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!f.) If you are getting PREMIUM text messsages, that is coming from a THIRD PARTY and is NOT affiliated with VERIZON!!!! When you actually RECEIVE that text message there is a PHONE NUMBER LISTED IN THE MESSAGE that YOU have to call to get them to STOP sending the text message! VERIZON has NO WAY of blocking it! (so if you ever text into American Idol, or you send a text to "get your fortune" or to get a ringtone from the TV...... you are SENDING your phone number to a third party company who can then SELL your phone number!!!!!h.) EVERY single wireless company has proration! SO DON'T think Verizon is the only one who has it...... HECK, even your UTILITY companies prorate you! It's not JUST wireless companies that do that...... when you sign up at a GYM you are prorated! LEARN WHAT PRORATION IS BEFORE YOU B$TCH ABOUT A HIGH FIRST BILL!!!!!!i.) If you raise your voice, swear or degrade the customer service people they will NOT want to help you. The more of a JERK you are to them, the LESS they care about your problems!!!!! THIS is probably the MOST important thing to remember. If you get someone on the phone on customer service that seems incompetent, HANG UP and dial back and you most likely will end up speaking with someone who DOES know what they're talking about! j.) QUIT expecting everything to be handed to you for free! IT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!k.) WIRELESS SERVICE IS NOT GUARANTEED INDOORS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! READ YOUR CONTRACT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have had a somewhat positive experience with Verizon Wireless. Let's take a stab at the bad first. The staff at the Verizon store (located on Southwest 88 Street and Southwest 122 Avenue) in Miami, Florida is terrible. Staff is rude, unhelpful, and generally not interested in helping customers. Second, VZ Navigator is an overpriced feature. At $10.00 a month, it is not worth it, considering that other providers, e.g. AT&T and Sprint, offer navigational services for free. Now for the positive. The signal strength is superb. I have not had a problem placing or receiving calls. The "new every two" feature is cool ... depending on the phone you get. Stay away from any of the Motorola Q series phones. The Windows operating platform is terrible.

I would not even give it a star!!!!!!!!! (But I had to in order to rate them). Once you have chosen Verizon Wireless for a cell phone carrier, they are really nice to you and helpful. HOWEVER, once you decide to switch to a different carrier, the table is turned. I ended my contract early Jan. 09 with Verizon Wireless and am still "working" with them to get a final and CORRECT bill. I am frustrated because when you call the 800 # you have no idea of which call center you are calling. I have called Green Bay, LA, and Michigan to name a couple. Supposedly they don't have the capability to transfer from one call center to the next but they can e-mail from one call center to the next. On 2/2/09 a manager named Robert stated that he would call me back within 72 hours and it is now 2/10/09 and I have yet to have receive a phone call from him. I WOULD NOT go with Verizon Wireless at all.

At the beginning of every month for the past four months, I have had to call up their customer service representatives for something. First, I needed to change my billing information because, as a college student, I had no money in my checking account and needed to put my phone on my credit card. I couldn't change it online because their website had not been allowing me to log in for the past month. As I later found out, the website could not handle Firefox. Instead, I called them up and an hour later, I was under the assumption that the billing had been changed and my checking account would not be charged. A few days later, I found out that I had been billed for my cell phone twice under both my checking account and credit card. So, again, I called Verizon. After being elevated to a supervisor, I was told that their system takes 72 hours to update billing information. This seemed strange to me that a computer system requires 72 hours to change a few fields in 2009 but I let it go. After this, I was told that Verizon could not do anything about the charges and that I would have to talk with my bank. Finally, after making several calls to the bank and sharing my social security number, I was able to cancel the charge and got back the overdraft fee.Next month, on my Verizon bill, I was being charged another $25 fee. This one was for canceling their payment on my checking account even though they still got the full payment from my credit card. Again, I called customer service and was again elevated to a supervisor. After arguing for several hours, "You canceled the autopay, that is why you got charged, there is no way we could have billed you twice, etc.", I was credited my $25.Last month, I broke the screen on my phone while ice skating. I had an insurance plan for $7 a month which allowed me to replace my phone for $50 if it ever got broken. I tried to apply my insurance to this phone, but they wouldn't honor my plan because apparently the phone also showed water damage (dots that turn red when wet in the battery compartment). The phone broke due to blunt force, not water. Regardless, I had to get a new phone and decided to pay an extra $50 not to be locked in with Verizon for a year longer. Needless to say, I also canceled the insurance. This month, my bill is charging me for a data plan which I was absolutely unaware of. This is not yet resolved and I expect to spend a few more hours on the phone using my time and my minutes to deal with their mistakes.I am considering canceling my plan all together 11 months early. I would get hit with a hefty cancellation fee but I have a feeling that it would be worth the money to not deal with Verizon. My negative sentiments toward Verizon are shared by nearly everyone I know who has a plan. It is not just my bad luck, Verizon is a dirty company with a habit of screwing things up.

Verizon company is the worst company ever, all they want is more money from your pocket. They will come up every surcharge or extra fee, or whatever. Their customer service are the worst people in the planet. They don't know jack! they will hang up on you when they can't provide no answer. Samething with all the managers or supervisors in this company, they should be fired in their job. I really don't like verizon, their service sucks! what I think, this company will go down in the future. They're should be...their greedy. GRRRR, hate this company...If I can only put no star with this company I 'll do it but, it won't let me...it should be less than half star...Go to this site and more complaints or yet google it: verizon suckshttp://www.foldedspace.org/weblog/2005/06/verizon_s ucks.html

Horrible. I'm paying for internet service on my blackberry but it has been cut off. All of my bills are current (thanks to the auto pay otion) but verison has abitraily decided to stop my unlimited access to the internet. I'm paying more than $45 for this service. I've been attempting to contact them for the past 2+ months to resolve this issue but have received no response from Verison. I've left my phone number, my desk number, the boyfriend's number, my company's main number, the fax number, both my personal and work e-mail address, and my parent's phone number (in Texas - 2000 miles away). No response!!!! This is unacceptable and I will be canceling my service. After this fiasco, I think T-Mobile would even be considered better than this and I know from previous accounts that T-Mobile does not provide service in any of the areas that I live and work. Basically - I'd rather be with a phone that has crappy service than with a phone that does not provide the items that I'm ALREADY PAYING FOR!!!

I would LOVE to give Verizon a CRAPPY rating, but when they pride themselves in having service everywhere...they really do. I went to Jamaica and still got service there -- of course with roaming fees, but WOW! They have the worst customer service I have never seen or talked to -- they messed up my bill six consecutive months in a row. I just got fed up with it and terminated my contract and went on with T-mobile. Thank heavens.

First off, I work for an outsource call center for Verizon Wireless, and as far as you people getting fones FOR SHOW or paper weight is beyond me and call us to complain why your fone doesnt work? SAY IT WITH ME ...User ERROR? That is why we require you to be on a data plan if your paying so much for a fone you shud be smart enought to want to utilize the phone effectively. SECOND to the person who has never received a bill? MY VERIZON? if we are so ignorant to not know how to do that then idk why the hell you wud bother keeping service. I do admit Verizon Wireless is pricey but thats all i can say badly about them. THIRDLY. With any company it is up to the Customer Service Rep to do there job the best they can i personally take my job very seriously and do everything i can do make YOU satisfied bkoz that is what i expect wen i call my cell phone company,( i have tmobile only bkoz of the g1 ) but if you have so many problems with any provider you are with dont complain to ur customer service rep, or cuss us out bkoz HONESTLY to be COMPLETELY 100% truthful 1 we dont care. 2 Just bkoz you dont listen, read,or do your own research before you do any changes thats not our fault and 3. if you scream cuss at us of course your not gonna get anywhere..Do urself a favor youll get more bang for your buck if you have the decency to calm urself down before you call. p.s dont let sales reps talk you into doing anything you feel you wudnt really need, or a fone that you cant even turn on.

For anyone that needs broadband/high speed internet service in a rural area where no one will provide it for you, get the Verizon um175 usb modem from your local verizon provider. It is just like a laptop connect card like the one provided by at&t, but actually works. You will have national access and will finally have broadband access. We cannot get Verizon dsl or any cable internet service and we have heard that satellite sucks and it is more expensive than this verizon card. It is awesome! So fast! We are finally up to date with the rest of the world! Don't forget you may need to find an area in your house where it will work awesome, but it will! Give it a try...you can try it for 10 days. So what do you have to lose!

I had Verizon for about 13 days in 2006. I thought the service was great and much better than Sprint family plan but I cancelled within 13 days because I couldn't afford verizon in the long run. Now that I have been able to get a cell phone plan, I chose AT&T because of the features they have that verizon doesn't such as rollover minutes and the iPhone 3G. If verizon had rollover and the iPhone 3G then there may have been a slight chance I would go back to them.

I love Verizon Wireless. Barely any dropped calls and great service.

i hate verizon there is a new phone coming out called the omnia and the only way you can get it is if you pay a 30$ monthly fee and for unlimited texting it is 30$. all blackberries and pdas HAVE to have the 30$ monthly fee, my mom has a blackberry already and i want the omnia which is a pda, so we were thinking to get a plan that included internet and unlimited texting....to bad they only have plans like that for regular phones not blackberries or pdas! so that would mean i would have to pay 60$ extra a month just for my one phone and plus my moms internet, and my brothers texting and the intital fees for minutes and stuff THEIR MONEY SUCKERS!

I hate verizon...the customer service is horrible. I have had verizon now for a little over 3 years, before I had Sprint then Nextel, before they merged - they too were horrible. I do get reception most of the time. One problem, I never receive a bill, never signed up for online statements, but have been calling for over a year now to see when my bill will come...they never figured out why my bill doesn't come, they have even said that it's not set up for online statements, and still have not received one.. I ordered the Glyde for an upgrade - the phone was horrible I purchased it in the store and it took forever for them to find enough money for my refund (I paid in cash), ended up switching it out for the Juke after going back to the Chocolate. I went on a business trip and when I got there tried to charge my new phone only to find out it wouldn't charge!...so back to the chocolate again got back in town and they told me they couldn't do anything about it because I had swapped out the phone too many times - they didn't even want to deal with me because of a "past due" balance on my account which was a phone I had sent back to them a month prior and they still hadn't taken the balance off. I gave them the tracking number and I showed them that it had been received. Anyways after complaining for about an hour they gave me a new battery. I figured I could deal with that. Got home, charged it...and yeah you guessed it...it doesn't hold a charge so I called back complained and complained and they finally said I could send the Juke back and use that credit towards a new phone. I ordered the new phone and called to check on the status...gave them the order number and guess what?! They couldn't find an order! How was an order number generated without placing an order. I call back and they said whoever processed the order would call me back. Waited two hours didn't get a call so I called back. They then put a call in to the person and their supervisor and said that I would get a call shortly, well three hours later I still hadn't received a phone call so I called back and this was about 2:30 in the afternoon. I explained everything and told them to look in the account at the notes, at this point I am extremely tired of explaining the whole situation over and over so they see everything and after about 30 mintues on the phone with this rep she said oh well I can place the order but it won't be shipped out until Friday (apparently orders placed after 3 don't qualify for overnight shipping) I was pissed asking why this wasn't an option at the beginning of the phone call...or better yet, 5 hours before when I called the first time. I called back the next day after receiving no return phone call and have them order it again ( I asked to speak to a supervisor). Called back the next day to have my bill explained...it got up to 489.00 out of no where, the guy couldn't figure out why and said he would call me back...it has not been 6 days and have not heard back... I will be calling them again tomorrow. If it wasn't the only provider that had signal around here I wouldn't be with them anymore. Plus the phones are way overpriced and worthless.
