I have had it for over 10 years used to be a 5 star outfit.wonderful techsupport on the RARE occasion that you might need it.never had email problems once it was setup.then AT&T Purchased Bellsouth and now they have decided that they didn't want to do email anymore Cost savings so they now use yahoo.well Yahoo SucksAT&T Yahoo webmail site now has ad's all the time, you might get a WAY to aggressive spam filter but hey it doesn't effect the ad's that are always at the right side of the page now! YUKMy emails' now sometimes don't show up for 1-1 1/2 days!I have lost over $2,500. in lost commissions due to their email issues.when you don't get emails for days, not all of them missing just some and you never know which ones.sending email problems too.they sent all kinds of mixed messages of what needs to be changed and then you don't have to change anything, and finally yes you must change things if you really want to get your email.I guess the real answer is to get my own web site and pay the $25.00 a year for access and then I can change emails to whatever providor I have at the moment.this way I can change and nobody ever will see the difference.its a shame AT&T I now 42 people that have left your service in the last 2 weeks!Maybe you will get some Obama Money to bail you out!

Bellsouth (ATT SE) Fastaccess isn't perfect, but it's way ahead of anything else in Gulf Breeze Florida. If you want one star service, try Mediacom. After storms the telco is a first responder. During hurricanes the land line is usually the only thing working. Cell towers get blown down. I have a wireless home network so get a US call center; but even the Manila and New Delhi centers were efficient, if not fully comprehensible. The ATT recent switch to yahoo webmail messed up my outlook email; but, it was never completely down, and the two CSRs who got it straightened out were nice, helpful people. Stuff happens. I've been with Bellsouth Fastaccess for 8 years and have no reason to switch and few complaints.

Bellsouth has the worst and most inefficient customer service! I had to hang up and call again at least four times because they kept on switching me to wrong departments and putting me on hold.

Wish I could give it a -5! The worst! I live in GA. On Monday December 3, 2007 ATT internet was down. It took them about the entire day to fix it. I was so mad because I couldn't connect to my work server. ATT has done this to me a lot. I was looking at Windstream as an alternative internet provider. I think I will change to Windstream. It's a good price and good deal. Please don't make the mistake by trying ATT internet.

I was researching an issue for a friend of mine in Nashville Tn. that has been having issues with a mfp product lately and I found something on their site that may direct me there pertaining to pppoa conversion to pppoe so I contacted bellsouth (now at&t) online and they were totally unaware of the posting on their own site then they told me the have had pppoe for years, later in the same conversation they told me that they have had pppoe for months. although they were trying I feel that both times I contacted them they were only geared to help the normal end user i.e. rebooting routers and such.... I am not too impressed with their technical staff... either they don't pay well enough to attract talent or they have poor hiring practices. perhaps a bit of both. oh btw I have been using comcast for quite a while and have few problems (only when a thunderstorm comes to town) my voip works well so far. The only reason I do not have bell south as my phone company was a charge on my monthly unlimited long distance bill for internet access it was around 6 or 7 dollars and when I called them to ask about it and explained that I do not use my phone line for dialup they told me they were allowed to bill me for it.. and would not remove the charge... go figure... they lost a $70 a month customer. because the rules were the rules.... must be some morale issues inside the company...or some bean counter that does not understand the hidden costs of certain decisions is calling the shots and not the front line people... keep the faith..m

BELOW ZERO !! DO NOT deal with bellsouth (the new at&t) they are the worst company I have ever dealt with in my life. They have different devisions for different services, so when you have a problem they start juggling you from one line to the other(20 minutes waiting). I have cancelled my services with them only to find out that they are billing me for DSL equipment that I have never received or used, on top of that they are billing me for 2 months for i place I hacen't lived in. When I called they were very rude, the lady I spoke to talk over me and transfered my call while i'm talking to her. IF YOU WANT A PIECE OF MIND STAY AWAY FROM BELLSOUTH (NEW AT&T) SERVICES. YOU WILL GET NOTHING BUT A HEADACHE AND A WASTA OF TIME ,,, ALL FOR NOTHING!!

Terrible....stay away from Bellsouth period. If you have problems and call the 800 number, if you are actually able to get a human on the phone....don't expect them to help or do anything at all.

I had BellSouth Fast Access DSL for over a year. I got good connection speed from it, generally higher than cable, which made my cable friends irate. My problem with them was that everyday at the same time, I would loose my connection for about 2 or 3 hours. I had never had that problem before BellSouth, when I had MSN. When I contacted them, they told me that it must be my computer. Finally I got fed up and switched to Earthlink. BellSouth warned me that it wouldn't correct my problem as the phone lines were the same. I have not had this problem since. If BellSouth could correct this problem, which I believe to be a traffic volume problem, their service would be top shelf.

This company won't roll out DSL to rural areas, yet lets their line technicians have it no matter where they live. There's one five miles from us and only about a dozen families live within that local loop. Only 2 have DSL subscriptions. On top of that, there is a wall of stupidity called "customer support" that handles all questions with copy & paste answers. All they care about is quick cash, not customer satisfaction.

Bellsouth Fastaccess Review Positives 1. Fair Price 2. OK speeds 3. Great bundles with other services such as Cingular and DirecTV 4. Technical Support - Well Trained 5. Web E-Mail Negatives 1. NO FREE internet security products like other DSL providers such as Earthlink.

DSL,what a pile of absolute garbage.i had to wait a month for the modem and then they charged me from 2 weeks before even though i already called costumer service who then transferred to dsl who then sent me back who then transferred me to customer service again to explain i had'nt got the modem-frustration in the extreme.my dsl did not work once in the 3 months i had it.they told me there was a technical problem in my area that had to be repaired(i live in downtown miami)so in 3 months it was'nt fixed so they compensated me with free dial up but then proceeded to put it on my bill anyway-so more phone calls and after being yo-yoed from customer service to dsl with them guaranteeing that all charges would be credite to me in the next bill,i get the next bill and all the charges are back on again.dire, terrible, awful, dreadful customer service with no interdepartmental communication.i cancelled my dsl and still had to pay for 3 months of utter incompetence-stay away from these losers,it's not worth it.

Horrible customer service. Nobody knows what they are doing. Transfer you is the CSRs main mode if you have a problem. It takes forever to talk to anybody with a brain. Their managers think they are doing you a favor. I cancelled them for other providers. PSC complaints do work. About the only thing that does.

At first there were lots of problems staying up. Couldn't and still can't complain about speed but the connection was always going down and resetting. Called bellsouth when my service completely cut off and was told it was my equipment that got struck my lightening (there hadn't been any storms). They sent me new (and much nicer) equipment and still no service. Then they finally had to admit it was THEIR problem they were just too lazy to send someone to check the line. Now there are almost NO drop offs. Customer service could be greatly improved (if they would simply listen to the customer and not assume that just because we don't have that tech help manual in front of us we don't know what we are talking about) but over all I wouldn't trade my DSL for any other service.... Well unless they came out with something even faster and more secure (and affordable)

Have been with BS for 2 years now and on the 15 to 20 customer service phone calls I've placed (for modem configuration, Mac, and software problems) I've always had to be on the phone for at least 30 minutes! The DSL works fine ordinarily (though I wouldn't say it's 30X faster than dialup by any long strectch)but any time I've run into trouble, I've dreaded calling their rotten service line. Also, I was shocked to find that they would not exchange the originally supplied USB modem with an ethernet modem unless I paid $80 for it. I told them that I could get it for free by going to the hassle of quitting the service and signing up again to get the free modem/install kit. To this my Customer Service Rep said: Yeah, I guess you could. Ouch!

DSL is pretty dependable, The Bellsouth email leaves some to be desired though...

March 20, 2004. Bell South DSL recently made changes in their software to reduce SPAM and it is blocking valid Email from some other ISP's. I noticed it when I was unable to forward Emails from my AT&T Personal Reach Service account to my Bell South account. How many other ISP's are blocked ??? They also told me that this change may cause some VPN links to fail.

Have had their service for 4 months, and have been pleased with customer service. Only problems have been in networking computers, but they were able to solve. Other than being expensive, and an occasional slower than usual connection, i have no complaints.

3 years service 1 problem, lightning hit my DSL modem. Bellsouth Customer service was very helpful and we tried everything. They scheduled a technican to come out. he checked the line then the modem. He replaced the modem and said have a nice day no charge and I was connected again at a outragous connection speeds. Thanks Bellsouth..

Experienced loss of connection once in the 3 months I've had service, was able to get through to customer service immediately and they gave me some codes to get reconnected immediately. Have 1.5 meg connection and am paying 1/2 of what 256k cable would cost. After having high speed, I'll never go back to dial-up, and with the only other option in my area being Charter cable, I've lucked out!
ciddivine 10/27/2002
Absolutely horrible! I received loss of service, slow up/download times, and horrible customer service while with this company. There is no deal they could provide which would get me back.
data_expert 10/18/2002
No problems after 2 years.

Customer service ranges from good to awful. Its reliable. No problems. Roaming can get expensive.
