I own a 50th anniversary stratocaster and a semi hollowbody telecaster. Best guitars ever made.

Back in the days when I was, like a housewife, exceedingly brand-loyal, all I played were Fender electrics and Guild acoustics. In later years I branched out, but I still favor Fenders and Guilds. Currently, I have a 1974 Stratocaster with pre-CBS pick-ups, which is a museum piece. I only play it when I record. Also have a 1952 Telecaster re-issue that I purchased about 15 years ago. This is one of my favorite guitars. And, I have one of those F50 acoustic resonator guitars, which I play almost every day. I'd like to get my hands on a vintage Jaguar, and, I plan on buying a new Jazzmaster as soon as the budget permits. Fenders play great and sound terrific. If you play bass, you can't go wrong with a Precision or Jazz bass. Go for the American-made models on both guitar and bass as the ones made in Mexico are iffy and the Japanese ones are sometimes very good, sometimes mediocre, I've found.

The guitar I learned to play on was a Fender Strat. It was only a rental so it wasnt the top of the line guitar but I would definantly reccomend it to anybody who is learning how to play because it is a GREAT starter guitar. After I got better I turned it in and got an Epiphone Les Paul. Thats what I play with now and I enjoy it a lot.
