After 4 years of faithful service, I recently had to give up my SCP-4700 in favor of a newer Sanyo phone (the RL 4930). I have mostly positive things to say about the SCP-4700. While a bit bulky, it was practically indestructable--it survived numerous spills out of my shirt pocket with hardly a scratch. Call quality and reception were generally excellent, even when other phones flaked out. The speakerphone feature came in handy on numerous occasions--this has got to be one of the better speakerphones ever built into a cell phone. For my tastes, the size and feel was a plus--it was as close to a comfortable cordless phone as I've ever seen on a cell unit without being too overly bulky. Battery life was good, although in the last year or so I owned it, the battery would inexplicably power off without any prior warning. This never happened during a call, though, so it wasn't a huge problem. All in all, I had a great experience with my SCP-4700. If you're looking for lots of gadgetry (camera, blazing internet speed, funky graphics), the SCP series isn't for you. If you want a durable phone that will do the job for which phones are intended, I recommend picking up an SCP series on Amazon or Ebay (the SCP 4900, the next generation after my 4700, seems like a great pick).

I've got the SCP5300 - and I can see why Cnet rates it as the best picture-cell phone on the market. It's quick internet, clear calls, and great pictures are what I love about it.

the SCP4500 is simply amazing. Ive had an Ericson, Motorola, Sony and a Nokia. Nothing comes close to the SCP4500. Its got a built in speaker that is great, and its internet ready, i can also send text messges and recieve email. Best phone ive ever had! period

Has a built in game and calender. It is a small thin phone with a backlit. I like the mousepad control and menu options. The battery lasts for a few days before it needs to be recharged. The antenna doesn't pull up, so it isn't so breakable.
