Overall good phone, very stylish and sleek, but the IR receiver came off on my 8890, and it doens't take wear and tear like my other Nokias. I have alreadey replaced it with a 7250i, but would recommend the 8890 to anyone willing to pay the price.

I currently own a Nokia 8800. The price for the phone is high, but the style and features earn it a four. The only disadvantage to the phone is the reception, I am not able to get a clear conversation when I am inside.

I have always loved this phone. It has this small, anywhere slip size and this gorgeous gaslight color (bluish), plus the features it has and the hi-tech internet service it can provide in time of subscription.

Great and user friendly. Looks good, but reception could be better.

I own one of these phones. Real small and sleek design. Easy to use. I like the multi custom ring tone feature so you can have the song of the day.

Great phone. Small, compact and tons of functions. High cost but worth it. Works all over the world.

The way that the reception is it isn't the greatest phone. It gets the job done, even in a sticky situation.

Light and very, very compact. Lots of useful features. It is also customizable. Price is still too high.

8800 series consist of the 8860 and 8890. However, the 8860 is not a great phone. Do not waste your money on it either. It has been recall when it was 1st released and Nokia has stop producing the phone. The reception is horrible. For the 8890, it's a great phone. The reason why it works on a GSM network and is able to work in 120 countries. However, the price is usually $500-600 with activation. If you like the design and the features of the 8800 series. The new 8200 is more affordable and basically the same. Check out nokiausa.com for more info on the new 8200 series.

Never worked. It would claim it was charged but I could never make a call. I sent it back to get fixed but it came back worse than before.

Those already familiar with Nokia mobile phones will be able to start playing immediately with the latest from Nokia, their 8800 series. The phone is incredibly small and controls almost identically like their wonderful 6100 series of phones. Overall, the only possible drawback might be the fact that the buttons may be too small for those with large fingers and hands, and the phone itself, being so small, can easily be misplaced. The 8800 series of phones do offer a few more features that some of Nokia's earlier models, and it's here that the consumer needs to look into the service providers that are available in their area. There are some subtle differences between the 8860 and the 8890 and one carrier that may support one of the models won't support the other and vice-versa. It's CRUCIAL to make sure you select the wireless phone service that's right for you before you decide to purchase any mobile phone. A really cool phone is about worthless if it doesn't work where you might need it to. All in all, the 8800 series is smart in design and function, works well, and Nokia's redesign of the earpiece adapter (which makes the handsfree ear-mic that's included work perfectly!) makes it a good purchase decision, provided the service meets your needs and the phone fits your hands.

Use difficulty for fat people. Reception mediocre due to internal antenna. Very small and compact phone.

A reliable phone, though it is too expensive.

This phone is tight 'cuz it is just like the Matrix phone. It just looks hella tight.

Nice clean phone. I like it because it is compact and stylish.

I own one of these and I love it. It fits in my pocket, has nice features and looks nice. It also has games like snake!

Nokia's newest series of handphones are undoubtedly the most fashionable in the market. This company has good creative design in this series. It is light, ergonomic, and beautifully decorated. But the price is... ugh.... too high. I can't afford it.

Battery life should be better. Cool features are games and soundtones. Needs better reception. Otherwise, light weight and cool look make this phone a must buy.
luongdo 10/26/2000
Very good quality, no lost signals or sound coming through, but the phone is somewhat fragile and is easily broken.
dhooker 10/19/2000
The Nokia 8800 is a nice compact phone with a slide down face to answer calls and a chrome finish making it sleek and modern. A vibra-call feature is nice for those times you can't have the phone ring out loud. The standard package usually includes the phone, two batteries, a case, a headset, and a desktop charger. Although the Nokia 8800 is a bit on the pricey side, it is a must have for the trend setter.

Excellent phone. Lightweight, compact. Range is good. The only problem is... the loose battery cover on the back. Otherwise, it's awesome.
pjak8317pl 07/08/2000
This is a very good phone. The menu is very clear and the telephone is reliable. The only bad thing is the short battery life.
kris8305om 07/08/2000
The customer service is not good. I don't always get all my calls. However, it's an easy phone to use, and it's clear.
Rekl7504om 06/18/2000
The reception on this phone is average, and the open face is a problem because the screen can be scratched easily. However, there are games for those who like them. The phone is average.
Park7302om 06/10/2000
This phone works great with Pacific Bell wireless. It is voice activated, and although it is a little expensive, it's worth it. It has tons of features like memory, games, internet, calender, etc.
ebbo7250om 06/08/2000
The cell model, as with the rest, has its pros and cons. The keypad is easy to use, as well as its memory and menu. The antenna is short and sturdy. This phone makes cellular phone service hard for some reason, and has a problem with getting good reception.
bpap7212du 06/07/2000
This phone has great clarity and options but LCD screen cracks easily. Great battery life.
kyan7037om 05/31/2000
The Nokia 8800 is the most practible phone on the market. It holds more phone numbers than any other phone. It has the most effective battery life and it is user friendly. What's bad is the size. I feel it is too small. It's easy to lose, easy to break, and there are no supplies to purchase for the phone like clips or accesories.
