Thank God this store is out of business. Although in my town, they knocked the building down and replaced it with one of those Walmarts with a grocery. Even scarier.

Back in the days when Wards was still in business I liked their stores. I too agree with Rate Me--why is this still available to be rated.

This place is horrible!! Not a single thing to purchase in any of their stores!! Empty shelves everywhere!! And horrible hours!! Went there several times during one day and all the doors were locked and the windows were boarded up!! Crazy!! How am I supposed to shop there??? --DISCLAIMER-- Yes I know they are gone, just wondering why they are still being rated.

Out of Business. But, we picked up a lot of jewelry during going out of business sale.

I cannot believe that you people talk this way about Wards. I still strongly believe that, as the slogan said, you couldn't have shopped smarter. Wards provided extraordinary value and affordable quality to those who ordinarily wouldn't have been able to afford it. The Wards Card made it easy for people to purchase things, and I'll be damned before I see another department store that provides the value and service that Wards did. Not to mention their excellent store design. Sears needs to get off of their Windows XP-wannabe store design kick. Sears, Where else? WARDS!

I bought many things there over the years: mattresses, clothes, electronics...absolutely everything seemed to fall apart. Also, the first time I used my credit card there, they treated me like I was a criminal. It's rare for me to be glad to see a store go out of business, but I was this time.

Belly-up, FINALLY...THANK GOD!!! I got off to a bad start with Wards years ago when they called me daily at my place of employment harassing, insulting and threatening me about a past due account. Lil' miss hitler refused to even consider that she had the wrong number. I didn't even have an account with Wards, needless to say I never would.

Clothing is of poor quality, so even if you pay less, you will not have the clothes for long. A friend got a great deal on some nice furniture..Automotive Dept. is great..Definitely has it's good and bad points. Not your "all around" department store. But you can find good deals in specific departments.

Great for cheap apartment stuff.

Wards, Sears, and JC Penney cloths are poor quality so after about two washes you can't wear them anymore.
