08/05/2008 | Walmart is the store I love to hate. Reasons I hate it are: I'm the one that has to usually ask an employee for help. Alot of the employees they do have (at least in my city) are usually very unprofessional and sometimes rude. Everytime I go TONS of other customers are in my way! Long lines! I usually spend more then I plan on spending when I go there (NEVER fails)!
On the other hand, I'll never stop going there. It's a "one-stop-shop" which makes it VERY convenient, groceries to electronics to oil changes. You name it. It's prices are usually the same or a lil less then the competition. I just can't give it a full 5 star rating because of the shotty service.

What a joke!
There is never any help to be found. They sacrifice customer service to make sure to make their profit goals. There will literally not be a single associate(employee) on the sales floor during parts of the year. Also there are always long lines because there are no cashiers and there are not any associates on the floor to call up to run a register. Dirty, because its not in the budget to hire enough maintance. Always out of what you want. The associates always look like they are unhappy. Why should they be? They are the ones who hear it from the customers about no help on the floor and the long lines at the register. They are under paid, this includes assistant managers who work way to many hours. Assistant managers may have it the worst. Management has very little to no training. They have a short training class on policies but they don't teach any people skills. The small amout of people skills training they do receive is being told stuff by the store manager like "if i'm not getting complaints about you (the assistant manager) from your associates, your not doing you job. I should know I worked for that s**thole for 10 years, 2 as an assistant manager. Don't get me started.

03/29/2008 |  for the most part this is close to a four. We had a new one built closer to us and I thought this would be great.I have found myself being more disappointed than pleased. They do not do a very good job keeping their shelves stocked. It is very crowded and very noisy. Maybe it may be just the one I shop at but I have never seen more unattended obnoxious children running around than i do at this store.The parents are either nowhere to be seen or are totally oblivious to what their children are doing.Yes I have found some pretty good deals but I could say that about other stores too. As I said maybe the problems I have at our Wal-Mart are just this one.All I know if you want to go to a store and leave with a headache, go to this Wal-Mart and put up with their chaotic atmosphere, and buy some aspirin on the way out. I will admit there are some good deals. we like to get movies and some are decently priced, the dog food is a tad cheaper. If you can put up with the crowds. we prefer to go as early on Saturday as possible or forget it.

03/22/2008 | Wal-Mart has failed in all aspects of customer service that there is. Unfriendly, underpaid, understaffed, and unmotivated employees support the fact that this company has become an over blown parody of it's former self. Wal-Mart has had years to improve the quality of their relationship with the consumer, but yet we still wait in long lines at the three out of thirty five checkouts that are open with our cheap imported Chinese garbage, as we wonder why we're waiting in line there to begian with. Wal-Mart just simply doesn't honner customer service. Shame on you Wal-Mart!

03/21/2008 | Walmart isn't even that cheap on a lot of stuff. They take advantage of their reputation for low prices and you can find a lot of stuff there cheaper at say Costco or Target. Besides that it's always really crowded and packed with poor people. Teachers shop there too, so beware if you're a student.

02/29/2008 | The Wal-Mart in Montrose, CO is the worst of the worst. Many items not priced. Items displayed for order only have no signs stating for order only. At 6:15 a.m., this morning, 3/1/08, I went to the deli to purchase deli meats and cheese for office employees. Woman behind the counter totally ignored me. She then went to the back. As I was leaving another woman employee came from the front of the store and asked if I needed help. Yes. She then went behind the counter and told me she would get someone. She looked at her watch and stated they did not open till 7. Where's the sign saying so? There is no sign. Less than a year ago I went to the same store to purchase a lap top. I selected the one I wanted and after 20 minutes, found a clerk. the clerk informed me I had to order it. "Where's the sign????" There was no sign stating it had to be ordered. I went to Office Depot and purchased a $1400 lap top. Will never set foot in another Wal-Mart, especially here in Colorado.

02/18/2008 | As an interesting observation I notice the Pro Wal Mart people are always looking at thier own needs.........low income.............single with children...surely a situation of self focus and selfishness, and understandably so. And then wonder as they shop, to petpuate thier own situation by shopping there. And the Anti Wal Mart are usualy looking at a bigger picture of how this is effecting society itself, focusing on others.

02/17/2008 | I don't see how Wal-Mart is any worse than Target or Meijer regarding how they treat their employees. When my husband was a teen he worked at these places and they all treated you like crap equally. A co-worker of mine said the same thing. Plus ALL of the stores have items mostly made in China. Don't believe me, go to their toy sections!
I admit some of their items are not as good quality but I only buy select things from Wal-Mart and am able to save a considerable amount of money. Plus they have a little of everything so if I don't know where to get something I go there, knowing pretty much they will have it.
My big beef is that after 10 pm they will close one set of doors so you can only go in and out one side...then they put their U-Scans at the opposite side! Grr!!

02/13/2008 | I do all my food shopping at walmart i get alot for the money. I know walmart has a bad rep, but if i'm going to feed my family on my buget i need a place where i'm not paying an arm in a leg. The only thing i do not buy is hamburg at walmart. i buy it sams.

02/03/2008 | I like the prices and expect to get junk made in China but what I really hate is when you figure out where everything is they change it.
Whomever thought of that marketing idea is a real fool. I try to go to the stores whom do not do it that often. Walmart does not realize how much that irritates shoppers.
The reason is most people go in for only a few item and will not pick up somthing else now adays because of budgeted incomes.

12/27/2007 | Oh despite there many flaws the still have a huge selection of merchandise at the best prices, and is the only such retailer in many smaller communities.
Mom & Pop shops had little variety and high prices, and should adapt and specialize in merchandize not seen in WalMart- (ie, become tourist traps!)

People working there have an IQ of 50 collectively. Horrible service.
They cheat, on prices, volume, exporation date. They think if you do not notice they can get away with it, and if you do notice, they blame you. I will never shop at woolyworld again. I am sure there are a lot of other stores that would apresiate my hard earned money.

12/13/2007 | This rating concerns Walmart.com. Once again Im stuck in their never never land of telephone system. My first experience was with their pharmacy, I could not reach anybody for two months, no e-mails or telephone calls. I thought the problem was because of the part-D insurance rush. This time I just placed an order over the internet, received a confirmation, then an e-mail telling me the item is out of stock, will try to ship if item received within ten days if not the item will be cancelled. Try and reach them to cancell the order-good luck i was on the phone 1/2 hour and then got cut off. good luck if you use them!!!!!!!!

10/18/2007 | OK HERE IS MY REVIEW OF WALMART. I HAVE BEEN SHOPPING THERE SINCE THEY OPENED UP THE STORE IN MY AREA ABOUT 4 YEARS NOW. AND I HAVE WATCHED THE SERVICE AND QUALITY OF THE ITEMS GO WAY DOWN HILL. I FOUND A SET OF GLASSES THAT LOOKED NICE SO I BOUGHT THEM FOUND OUT I NEEDED ANOTHER SET WALMART WAS OUT OF THEM SO I WENT TO TARGET AND FOUND THE SAME SET. I COMPARED THE 2 SETS. THE ONE I BOUGHT FROM WALMART WHERE FACTORY SECONDS. YOU COULD SEE THE SEEM FROM WHERE THE GLASSES WERE MOLDED TOGETHER AND THE GLASS SEEMED TO BE THINNER THEN THE ONES I PAYED A COUPLE DOLLARS MORE FOR AT TARGET. THE ONES I BOUGHT FROM TARGET HAD NO SEEM AND WERE THICKER GLASS NOT FACTORY SECONDS. TODAY ALL BUT 2 OF THE WALMART GLASSES HAVE BROKE AND ALL THE ONES FROM TARGET ARE STILL IN GOOD SHAPE. THAT WAS THE FIRST ITEM. THE SECOND ITEMS WERE CLOTHES. I THOUGHT I WOULD SAVE SOME MONEY AND BUY MY KIDS SCHOOL CLOTHES FROM WALMART. AFTER ABOUT 3 MONTHS OF WASHING AND WEARING THE CLOTHES FELL APART. ALL THE CLOTHES AND SHOES ARE OF VERY POOR QUALITY. MY WIFE RUNS A VERY LARGE SEWING LINE FOR A COMPANY THAT DOES ALOT OF NIKE, HELLY HANSEN, MARMOT, AND OTHER BIG NAMED BRANDS AS WELL AS ALL THE NIKE STUFF FOR THE NBA, NFL, NCAA SPORTS TEAMS. SO SHE KNOWS ABOUT QUALITY WHEN IT COMES TO CLOTHES AND THEY DEFINETLY DO NOT HAVE ANY KIND OF QUALITY FOR CLOTHES. JUST CHEEP THIN STUFF. THIRD ITEM WAS AN AIRSOFT BB GUN MY SON SAVED UP HIS B-DAY MONEY TO GO GET ONE.RIGHT OFF THE SHELF IT WOULDN'T WORK TOOK IT BACK SAME THING 3 GUNS LATER I TOOK HIM TO A DIFFERENT STORE AND FOUND ONE RIGHT AWAY THAT WORKED. FORTH ITEMS SEVERAL DVD'S I'VE BOUGHTEN HAVE HAD TO BE TAKEN BACK BECAUSE OF POOR QUALITY IN THE RECORDINGS. I JUST BOUGHT TRANSFORMERS THE MOVIE AND I AM ON THE SECOND ONE THAT THE AUDIO RECORDING FORMAT IS ALL MESSED UP. THE ONLY THING I AM RESORTED TO BUYING AT WALMART IS NOW LAWN FERTILIZER. THE REST OF MY SHOPPING IS AT TARGET AND REAL FOOD STORES. (GOT TIRED OF GETTING OLD OUTDATED ROTTEN FOOD). WALMART HAS BULLIED THERE OUTSORCE COMPANIES TO SELL THEM GOOD PRODUCTS SO LOW THAT THEY CANT SURVIVE SELLING THERE PRODUCTS SO LOW THAT THEY ARE SELLING WALMART THERE FACTORY SECONDS AND BLEMS. JUST LOOK AT WHAT WALMART DID TO RUBBERMAID THEY PUSHED THEM INTO GOING OUT OF BUSINESS THEN BOUGHT THEM OUT TO KEEP THERE PRODUCTS IN THERE STORES. MY OPINION IS TO SHOP ELSEWHERE AND ALOT OF OTHER PEOPLE ARE DOING THE SAME. WALMART PROFITS HAVE DROPPED SIGNIFICANTLY IN THE PAST 2 YEARS TO ALMOST A SERIOUS LOSS IF WE ALL DO THE SAME THE SUPER GIANT WILL GO AWAY. AND WE WILL HAVE GOOD QUALITY AMERICAN MADE PRODUCTS BACK IN THE STORES SO THAT THEY DON'T HAVE TO COMPETE WITH WALMART ANYMORE. THERE WAS AN OLD SAYING K-MART FALL APART BUT I THINK THAT HAS CHANGED TO WALMART FALL APART.

07/01/2007 | hello my name is Jessica Nicholson, I recently went to the walmart in saratoga shopping I went to the service to ask for a remote cart because I just had two back surgerys, when I asked one one of the managers said to me theres 20 of them if you can find one you can use it,not helping me at all. I was so disappoited. I was standing there with a cain and leaning on a shopping cart for sapport. So I went to another manager and asked again and he said if you dont see than I guess we dont have any. Thats rude what happens to these peaple that can never shop without one. Im so disappointed I shop here weekly and I think its time to shop somewhere were you get better respect.
I never got all my shopping done but when I got to the register your employee, dee helped me with food and said sorry we could not help with a cart. That was the only nice exsperience I had there thank you dee.

06/24/2007 |  Let me begin by saying that I am not involved in the retail industry and that my opinions are based on both my education and experience as an educator. The Cold Hard Truth--Walmart is only as good as the neighborhood it is located in. Think about it, its true. Who does Walmart hire? People who apply...Who applies to work at Walmart? People who live in close proximity to the store. Who shops at Walmart...people who live near the store...why? convenience. Lets compare two Walmart stores close to me (my town does not have one so we must drive 20 miles to either of these 2 stores) one in a more affluent neighborhood and one in a....well the slums.....Affluent Walmart--moderate lines, moderate customer service, moderately clean. Not-so-affluent Walmart--long lines, unfriendly customer service and dirty. Why? I think customer base has a large part to do with this. The cleaner that customers keep a store, the less frustration that employees will feel thus more likely to provide me with quality assistance when I need it. It is the whole treat others as you would like to be treated idea. The fact of the matter is that these 2 stores carry the exact same merchandise. Same quality...same product! We as customers do make some of the difference. I have seen behavior from both children and adults that is deplorable and would not be tolerated in any school in America. Why is it that people think they lose all self-respect when they walk through the sliding doors of a Walmart. Is it appropriate for a 2 year old to pitch a fit when she doesn't get her way? No, then why is it appropriate for her mother to yell at a cashier when she has had to wait 15 minutes in a line that the cashier has no control over? Is it appropriate for a father to dwaddle in the electronics department while his pre-teen children play basketball in the sporting goods department? I hate Walmart, not because of the big bulky pallets of merchandise that are in my way as I shop or because of the question I have to answer as I check out "Did your cashier greet you today?" I detest shopping at Walmart because it embodies the wretchedness that our society has become....Capitalism and entertainment! I rate this store a 3....because I will probably shop there again....as I too am trapped in our indecent society!

06/06/2007 | I love Wal-mart! I don't have a lot of money, and I'm kind of a night owl. So, when I can buy something the same for a lot cheaper then I go for it. It's a benefit that I can go at 3am if I want to, as well. I've worked for Sam's Club for 10 years, so I understand the hatred of company rules, but so what if you don't work there. What do you care? So, they are bitchy to you when you check out. I know it's annoying, but there are the self checkouts now. I find that to be quite wonderful. Try it out sometime, if you feel the need to get quality merchandise for a cheaper price. Hey, just an idea.

05/16/2007 | I just happen to be an associate working at walmart only because it is a pay check and even the associates do not want to go to walmart. that store is cursed, the more people buy from it the more the "big shots" get greedy. Also they treat their associates very bad. yes it is a good idea to get the customers out of the store faster but the cashiers get paid more then sales associates and that is not fair. the associates are always gloomy because the customers think they can trash the entire store and we are the ones that are getting into trouble if our area is not clean.

04/15/2007 | I loved the Wal-Mart near the college I used to go to. I hate the one by where I live now. It is awful, always crowded, even on Sundays at midnight, no place to park. I have never been able to find a sales associate, ever, so I don't know what they are like except for the ones at the cash registers, who always seem depressed and miserable. I have never been impressed with anything I have purchased at Wal-Mart either. I give it a 1 star rating for this reason.

03/19/2007 | Life is too short to shop at Wal-Mart. I think Wal-Mart is actually bad for the economy as a whole. How many good jobs have gone overseas as a result of Wal-Mart bullying their suppliers into lower prices? How many smaller stores have they driven out of business? I'm nearly 2.5 years Wal-Mart free and couldn't be happier with my decision.

02/23/2007 | The prices are worth the trip but the employees are so miserable it makes you not want to come back. they are constantly out of stock on almost everything or they have all the aisles blocked off at 7:00 pm for floor waxing or something, so you cant even get around I would hate to see the lawsuits if a fire broke out and they had the aisles blocked like that. For me, if i can make it out of work in time to go to one of their competitors that cost a few cents more im going there.

02/18/2007 | Walmart has good prices. The one by my house is the dirtiest store I have ever been to though! The employees are scary and they never smile or acknowledge you. It's like, HELLO?!?!, I'm paying you money, the least you could do is say hi or thank you, have a nice day. Nothing. It's also impossible to get anywhere there because the aisles are super small and it seems like the people there seem to think they have to bring EVERYONE in their family with them, including every child in their family, which they of course let run wild through the store. I don't mind traveling the 30-40 minutes to a newer Walmart. It's less chaotic, cleaner and I still get the good prices. Of course, Target is my favorite. It's clean, nice big aisles so you don't have to crawl over people to shop, they always have awesome clearance sales & I just feel more comfortable there.

01/17/2007 | Okay, I'll grant you that they have everything you want. But going to a Walmart Supercenter is like going on a ten mile hike. You can walk yourself to death in those places. And what's the deal with the check outs? They have 30 check outs and they only have three open with employees running all over the darned place. Everytime you go You have to wait in line forever!!! It's sad when you have to start planning on Wednesday for a trip to Walmart on Saturday!!

12/04/2006 | Ordered a Jeep Liberty SE terrain stroller on walmart.com November 15 ($118.76). One week later the wrong stroller shows up (Urban terrain $88.76). Since the item received was less expensive I could not return it at my local walmart store. UPS picked wrong item up and I waited again for the correct item to arrive. Today December 4, ANOTHER WRONG ITEM shows up (Cherokee sport $49.88)
Needless to say, after several lengthy phone calls I am very upset. My account was charged for another 2 shippings and here I am without the stroller I ordered and without my money. As I explained to customer service. "we entered an agreement, I pay, you ship...I kept my part of the agreement and I have not received anything 3 weeks later.
This is the most unpleasant online shopping experience I've ever had. Will not ever shop online with them again.
I even had to fight to have UPS pick the wrong item up. They suggested I go to the postoffice at first.
How am I supposed to do that? It defeats the purpose of buying online. A 33lb package with a baby to the postoffice and pay shipping charges again. I dont get it. WalMart should be able to perform better. I'm getting my money back.
And that's all they could do, unless I want to reorder again. No thanks.

11/26/2006 | i went to walmart on Black friday to just a get a money order and i was in line at the serice desk from 4:05 to just about 4:30pm. They had one person on at the service desk, customers complaining. You would have thought being black friday and the busiest shopping day of the year they would have had more people on the service desk. The lines at the registers were actually better then the service.

--wow he need to defintely learn whats the responsibitly of a manager..I bought a jacket for my daughter and did not save my receipt (since I am a person who dont go and stand in return lines ),but not even a month,zip was broken and stitches was coming out,when i went to customer service,Lady in the Customer Service have no patience to answer my question whether any possibility of exchange.All she said is talk to manager when he crossed the customer service center.I was waiting to talk to him.That lady told him that i told her.I thought he is going to come and talk to me.But he said to that lady with no receipt nothing can be done and he walked away.Great service...Please learn what is Customer Service...I was in this retail service for 3 years ..and I had given excellent customer service and in the mystery shopping I got 100% for my wonderful service.I do take pain in looking at the RN number and search for the product and provide them exact info ..but here she dont even want to stand and listen whats going on at my end...all i could is throw the jacket in the trash ($25.00).Walmart corporate office should take pain to train all theier employees.They dont want to smile and they are really rude.When a question is asked regarding the product the way they respond..dont feel like going to that shop.I stopped going to Walmart,sams club,...

09/03/2006 | I bought a product online 8/16/06 should of shipped in 7 to 14 days. After tracking it and the product not moving for 5 days I notified ups they instructed be to notify walmart.com. Melody from walmart.com then told me it would take 8 days to trace it. Nine days later I heard nothing and called walmart.com They then informed me the trace started 3 days after my phone call because of website problems, and that it would take 8 business days not including weekend. I told this man the lady I spoke to 9 days ago said nothing about business days and weekends were included and told me I would hear from them by 9/2/06. I told him this was unexceptable. He then put me on hold for 8 minutes. Came back and said weekends are included.He said by 9/6/06 the trace would be complete and if the item was not found they would replace it. I asked if it would be replace and shipped overnight since it would be 22 days before they can replace it. He had to ask his supervisor and put me on hold again for 5 minutes. He came back to tell me his supervisor was with another customer and I needed to hold. I then ask to speak with the supervisor and was put on hold for 25 minutes, after already being on the phone for 20 minutes tring to resolve this. His supervisor Justin got on the phone and told me it would take 7 to 14 business days to complete this trace. My husband then got on the phone and was told the other employees were wrong and it will take 7 to 14 business days to do the trace, with this he asked to refund our money and we will go elsewhere to buy the item. Justin then informed us that they will not refund our money till the trace has been complete. That date if your keeping up is 9/15/06 a month from the purchace. There customer service is a joke for this billion dollar company. No respect for the working man and women, we are fighting over a $200.00 float/boat towable, that now thanks to there shipping methods the season will be over before it gets to my father to use for his birthday! This problem is between UPS and Walmart not me the customer they promised delivery and they failed and will not make it right! I will never buy anything from Walmart.com again, and I will not shop at there store for anything they have no respect for there customers!

08/04/2006 | Recently our WalMart became a Super Center and I have to admit that I save a ton of money on our necessities and a lot of our groceries, but I have learned a few things of importance. Don't trust their steaks or meat in general if you can't see it, don't buy it. I have bought nice big packages of sirlion steak that look great until you take the top steak off and see that the one under it is all grissly and fatty and unusable, which I wrote them and the manager never did get back with me, but they changed their packaging to say 100% satisfaction or your money back. their generic brand Equate is terrible and isn't worth the boxes they put it in. As far as the comment that everyone makes about Wal Mart putting small businesses out of business???? I don't see this in our area, we now have 2 Super Centers and businesses, big and small, are popping up all around the Super Centers as if they were a magnet.

08/03/2006 | Some of the employees are rude, some are nice. I had not been in the store for a while. They have those self check out lanes. Well I had to get assistance from an employee and I wish I had just went somewhere else. She came up to me scanned the item and when I turned my back to reach into the buggy, she actually had the nerve to say "are you always in a bad mood?" Mind you I hadn`t said a word to her and this was the second time I had ever seen her in my life. Really I don`t think it is any Walmart employees business what kind of mood I am in. She did not know me from "Adam" and didn`t have any right to say something personal like that to me. She does not know what is going on in my life and frankly it is none of her business. I literally burst into tears. What I`ve noticed around here at this Walmart is that the younger female employees think that they can say or do whatever they want. While the older employees don`t act that way. Strange isn`t it?

05/10/2006 | Terrible store to shop because it is too overstocked and you can hardly navigate. Treats their employees like dirt. Has single handedly put other businesses out of business. Sweat shops. No, I will not support this company and this includes Sam's Clubs.

05/09/2006 | I like walmart and have shopped there for years but I'm starting to like Target better. Some of the walmart stores are too cluttered with merchandise and the associates are rude. I haven't had that problem yet at Target.

03/26/2006 | Just a notch about K-Mart, but well below Target in terms of customer service, product quality and shopping atmosphere. Employees are not consistently knowledgable or helpful. Management only seems to understand bottom line without regard for customer service. If I'm ever feeling bad about myself, I just have to visit the local 24-hour Wal-Mart at 2:30 in the morning. The customers and employees at that time of day are models of consumerism/capitalism gone bad.
