don't be fooled by the reputation of GE. i unfortunately doubted all the bad reviews and justified buying it anyway b/c 1) they were probably just those people that can never be satisified or 2) they just got a bad inventory and 3) it looked 'cooler' than the other brands. well, i got what i deserved! it looks nice alright, but every appliance is terrible!!! only appliance i am happy with is my refrigerator b/c it's an LG. the microwave broke after 2 years, the flat top takes forever to boil water and they blamed it on the fact that i didn't have the right pots (sorry, i didn't realize i needed to buy designer pots to use my oven), and parts of my dishwasher rack broke off and is rusted. and nevermind the fact that i rarely cook and eat at home so after very infrequent use it was like this. and that thing you call customer service, they don't know the meaning of the word. ignore this review with the other ones and you'll wish 2 years from now you listened. and to the one good reviewer, this is not the same person giving it another bad review. maybe they're just crappy appliances and you just somehow got lucky or you've never had correctly functioning appliances, so any improvement seems like a miracle.DO NOT BUY GE APPLIANCES, YOU WILL REGRET IT LIKE I DO. these reviews exist for a reason. i wish i hadn't been so arrogant and assumed everyone else was wrong.

DO NOT BUY GE profile brand, Just moved into a brand new hosue that had them all, they are AWFUL! Dishwasher doesn't wash the dishes very well, microwave has a broken part, upper vetn never closes correctly, oven fan is LOUD and refirg leans backwards. Had repair guy out 4 times already and they have excuses for every issue! While they are replacing some parts, these appiances are new and a total nuisance! HATE THEM! Also bought a 36" all refrig for over $5k, PIECE OF JUNK! they replaced it once, w/an upgraded model whenever you open it it makes a loud gurggling sound, repair guy says this is normal and was stated int eh manul. RIDICUOLUS! RUN dont' walk away from this brand! Also have Thermadore freezer & wine tower, awesome products!

We bought a house 2 years ago that was 2 years old and had all new GE Profile appliances. I can't stand any of them, including the washer and dryer. The fridge is very poorly designed with shelves that move and has VERY little space in it. We've already had it serviced because the control panel burned out. Thankfully it was under the buyer protection plan from the sale of the house at the time so it only cost 55.00. Now the spacesaver microwave has a motor problem and needs servicing AND the dishwasher will not get the dishes clean even when prewashed. Am saving up money for the huge repair bill that both will undoubtedly cost us. The washing machine doesn't have a hot water option (who ever heard of that?!) and the dryer takes an hour and a half to dry a load. The stove is the only appliance that I like only somewhat, but I have inadvertently turned it off many times while trying to turn off only the timer. I will never buy GE appliances when the time comes to replace these and would highly advise anyone interested in purchasing their appliances to go elsewhere. I always thought that GE Profile was top of the line until now. They are in SERIOUS need of quality control in the manufacturing process and need customer input to design a more customer friendly product.

I have never read so much non sense in my life, I believe some of the reviews below, but it looks like allot of them were written by the same person. I have lived in 3 different homes. The first home I lived in had all GE Profile appliances except the stove and microwave which was just a GE. The stove had to be replaced after 21 years of service, being it lasted 21 years I replaced it with another GE, and for the 2 years I continued living in the home it worked perfectly. The next home I lived in had all GE Appliances, stove, microwave, dishwasher, disposal, fridge, washer & dryer. They were all original to the home when I moved in. When I moved in the appliances were 25 years old, I lived their for 2 years and never had 1 issue with any of them. After getting married I bought a larger house with my wife so we could settle down and plant routes. This home had all Kenmore appliances except for the washer and dryer which were GE. Except for the Kenmore fridge the rest of the Kenmore stuff was crap and broke soon after moving in. The home was only 10 years old and with the Kenmore stuff falling apart I knew no one made a great product like GE. So we replaced all of the appliances in our kitchen with GE Profile appliances which after 2 years of service we have yet to have 1 issue. I highly recommend GE.

This dishwasher is terrible. It cost $1000 and is worth about $100. The heating coil wouldn't shut off and the Lower dish rack and silverware rack melted to each other. The steam burned my mother-in-law. I reported this and GE was slow to respond and generally unhelpful. We have since had additional problems with the dishwasher. I will never buy GE appliances again. DO NOT BUY GE.
MyOpinion09 08/31/2009
We got all new GE profile appliances in our kitchen and every single one of them is a piece of crap. First off, the dishwasher never cleans properly and always leaves film on our dishes, not to mention, never dries them properly. And we can't ignore the aweful smell it traps if you don't run your dirty dishes right away. Second is the fridge, which has a mind of it's own and changes temp from one extreme to the next, sometimes even turning off completely and spoiling our food! Then there is the oven, which never reaches the temp you select.....no clue why. If you are reading these reviews, and have not yet purchased a GE profile appliance....please take our word for it and RUN!

I bought a GE profile refrigerator twio years ago. I gace excellent care and is now dead. All of the sudden everyone tells me that GE is the worst brand ever. Someone shoudl have told me before!!! I am a witness now. DO NOT BUY GE

I, too, think the GE Profile dishwasher is a pile of junk! The wheels on the bottom rack fall off, burn up, or crack apart until you have no useable wheels! Right now, I think I have one wheel left on each side of the bottom rack. Has anyone had success in figuring out what to do about the wheels?? It also doesn't clean the dishes like it's supposed to. I have to hand wash or run them through again. I hate this dishwasher and have only had it a couple of years. If you are tempted to buy a GE Profile because it looks good----RUN!

I wish I had read all of these reviews before purchasing my GE Profile dishwasher, side by side fridge, range and microwave. The stainless steal dishwasher is a piece of junk. After spending $1000+ on it, I get the pleasure of washing the dishes before I put them in and saying a prayer that it will drain when I do run it. I had a repairman at my house only to tell me that it wouldn't run correctly unless I hit the pot scrubber mode plus the two extra heat cycles and turn up my hot water tank. I think that is pretty energy efficient...wouldn't you!?! I had to change the light bulbs underneath my space saver microwave this weekend and in order to do so I had to pull out my stove and contort myself under the darn thing in order to see what I was doing and spent over a half hour trying to get the new bulbs in. So far the stove itself isn't all that bad except I have to push really hard for the controls to work. The icemaker in the fridge takes forever but the fridge hasn't given me any fits so far...knock on wood. I seriously think GE should be ashamed of themselves for putting out such shoddy workmanship. I know that if I hadn't spent so darn much money two short years ago I would start replacing...starting with the horrible dishwasher!!! And I will never ever buy a GE appliance again!!!!!!!!

I bought a stainless GE Profile Kitchen set in 2005 thinking that is top of the line.My experience has been terrible. After all that noise about GE's quality policies and ads I thought GE profile was a good brand. How wrong could I be!The Dishwasher conked off in 2008! We ended up buying a new one at $1100, the price of aving to match the Profile series. The Side-by-Side Profile/Arctica fridge has been acting up in the last 1 year and now it resets every day. A service person is coming in this week. The Profile microwave has a broken part where venting happens - what we thought was metal turned out to be metal coated plastic.. Never again will I buy a GE product! I would like to join a class action suit on GE profile where possible.
lazybumm1 07/30/2009
We have a GE Profile Stainless Steel refrigerator. It is a little over a year old. The ice maker never produces enough ice and now it makes ice but will not empty into the bin. To make things worst the front of the refrigerator is not even metal, so you can't stick anything on it with magnets. Too much money for a piece of junk. Our last refrigerator(Whirlpool) is 19 years old and still works.
getagrip01 06/28/2009
The GE Profile microwave is a piece of junk. Within a couple of months the plastic parts started cracking. We really got taken on this one. Not worth anywhere near the 600+ we paid for it. We were told it was the best on the market. I guess it is the best landfill on the market. We really got taken on this. Stay away from the G. E. Profile Microwave - it will fall apart on you.

We move frequently due to my job and have owned four different homes in 10 years. We have had the “privilege” of having GE appliances in all four homes and three were brand new construction. The only positive thing I can report about GE appliance is none failed within the one year warranty period; they know how to manufacture a product that will last one year. The following are the problems we have enjoyed throughout the years:Home 1Dishwasher pump motor quit ~ $250 service callMicrowave oven quit, cheaper to replace than repair ~ $200 for new non-GE unitOven control board quit ~ $200 service callHome 2Electric Cooktop quit, had to replace controller ~ $200 service callOven control board quit ~ $200 service callHome 3Gas cook top shorted and controls caught on fire, thank God we were home. Replace cook top $600.Microwave oven quit, replaced unit $200Dishwasher quit (I forget why or how much) service callHome 4Microwave oven turntable quit working, living with the inconvenience. GE refrigerator ice maker tray mechanism broke ordered part myself ~ $150GE refrigerator control board quit while on vacation, ruining ~ $200 worth of food, creating a huge mess on the floor, stinking up the house and a $200 service call.I have spent ~ $2,500 repairing their appliances over the years, not to mention the inconvenience when something like a refrigerator or cook top breaks. GE manufactures garbage. Do not but their cr@p if you can avoid.
Patsy85750 05/21/2009
I can't even rate this refrigerator it is SOOOOOO HORRIBLE ... it is NOT worth 1 star. I purchased it in June 06 since then I've had EIGHT SERVICE CALLS (now it's May 2009). The electronic board has been replaced TWICE ... It takes 5 minutes to replace the board and for that 5 minutes I was charged $215 ... $69 for the service call and the rest for the 5 minutes of labor. The first was replaced under the warranty.GE must be getting their parts from China. I am 57 years old and have NEVER had a service call on a refrigerator. If you enjoy meeting with a service tech, then this is the product for you. The service tech remembers the directions to my home; that's how often they are here, and I AM HARD TO FIND. I paid $1900 for this and it is CRAP.GE refuses to label this a LEMON and will not replace it (I would still have problems, so they might as well not do it), and I told them, I would NEVER buy another GE product and I've remained true to my word. When my Whirlpool dishwasher died after 23 yrs it was replaced with a Miele and I have a 23 yr old oven/microwave combination which WILL NOT be replaced with a GE. Stay away from these products they are really a lot of trouble.

After we built our new home 8 years ago we purchased all Ge appliances. That was when my nightmare started. The worst was the GE MONOGRAM side by side. First of all they talk to you as if you are guilty of something, if they find you on the computer.Almost every wed. I had to stay home for repairs one for them to check it one to get the parts over and over again. first the hinge on the door broke, the tech ordered the whole door. then week later he came and looked at the door and said wrong side. to shorten the story I have 3 monogram fridge doors unused in my garage(any one needs one?) that was not the end of it. Fridge stoped working that was another session then I had ice build up in the fridge, freezer the same (paid over $7500.00 forthe junk) all that after 7 years of services they ended up changing the fridge which it is not covered under warranty only god knows what gone happen in months to come( they always made it sound like it is not a big problem)I had to call service at 800-gecares they sent me completly new serviceman by then I knew all the people that worked for them. After looking at the freezer he came up with completly different diagnosis and said cost over $300.00(I asked him to leave ofcourse no more warranty (SUPPOSLY HAD 7 YEARS OF IT).MY BUILT IN MICROWAVE, MY WASHER AND DOUBLE OVEN ARE NOT WORKING. THE SERVICE PEOPLE ARE ON PAYROLL FOR GE OR SOMETHING. The new guy knew right away what the problem was. And for how much. For those of you that still using their service there is a tube under the freezer that takes out the water sometimes comes off and causes ice built up on the bottom my service person was an older guy he came in said he repaied it and within 5 min he was done, till I found out that when he was trying to put it in he could not so he left it under the freezer. Who would look under mounted freezer. Untill next problem and again I had to stay home and found out that I need to stay home another day because they needed 2 more people to bend the freezer to put it back and because the two came to my home where union guys I had to miss another day of work (It probably would have been cheaper to buy a new one).We are in bus. of custom cabinets in US, I will make sure that none of my customers make the same mistake.NEVEEEER AGAIN They are making me give them a star. They do not deserve it.
Bonnie Schafer 04/14/2009
I would give G.E. Profile appliances a no star if that were possible. We bought a home built in 2002 with what was supposed to be top line appliances. The ovens are the best of the lot. So far, only the light keeps getting loose and not working on a regular basis. The microwave has been repaired twice since we've lived here. Both times everything except the timer just quit working. Thank God for home warrantys, but I really wish they would replace instead of repair. The under counter ice maker has never worked right and I finally just gave up and turned it off since home warrantys don't cover ice makers. It ran constantly and made a couple hands full of ice at a time and it was never froze solid. Never did it ever make close to a full bin of ice. The glass cooktop gets brown spots on it even if I boil water and it scratches very easily. Then there is the dishwasher....I would rather wash them by hand and often do. The top rack roller falls out on a weekly basis. The bottom rack roller falls off track everytime you try and pull out a full rack of dishes. You really need to wash the dishes before using the dishwasher if you want clean dishes. I really hate all of the built in appliances in my house and would replace every one of them if I could afford it. By the way, I did try to send this review without giving it even one star, but it wouldn't let me, so just disregard the one star that I am giving it.

Would Never buy GE again. We remodeled our kitchen about 3 years ago and bought all Ge profile appliances. The refrig. makes a high pitch humming noise intermitantly which is exceptionally annoying. The stove beeper is too quit to be heard and and yet the avantian microwave exhaust vent is so loud you can not have a conversation in the kitchen when it is on! The stove top takes forever to boil a pot of water and the list goes on and on. Forget about any repair service....... the guys that come out know nothing and customer service is of no help. Learn from my mistakes what a waste of money!!!!!

Purchased GE Profile Induction 36' cooktop almost a year no problems yet. technology works well and will react like flame or close without the fire hazard!

This nagging appliance!! This microwave drives me crazy with its constant beeping. So much for cooking and doing other chores. It beeps and beeps and beeps... I swear its mother was an alarm clock.
nevaslip 09/25/2008
In 2007, I had the kitchen completely remodeled that included GE Profile Refrig. and Stove. Last week the refrigerator temp. went warm while we were gone and defrosted ALL the food in the freezer. Now it's working again. Can someone tell me what happened and what I can expect in the future?
thoughtfulcons umer 07/05/2008
Outfitted our new kitchen with all GE Profile appliances. Our previous kitchen was also all GE Profile and every appliance lasted 15 years good as new. We felt we were paying more for quality appliances. Big mistake. Stove went first - oven stopped working within the first year. Refrigerator has never worked properly - Ice-maker has never worked - unless you break off frozen chunk of ice three times a day, you will never have ice. Entire fridge/freezer frequently and inexplicably 10-15 degrees warmer than our settings. Spoiled food, etc. Dishwasher - Electric controls stopped working after one year - they cannot be reset or changed. Wheels fall off every time you pull rack out. It is a complete piece of garbage. I hate to think about how much money we wasted purchasing these appliances that all had to be replaced within four years. I will never buy GE again, nor will anyone in my family or circle of friends.
aogg 06/24/2008
Three years ago I redecorated my kitchen. After enjoying my first profile refrig (black grainy, squared) I bought all new GE profile appliancea, stainless steel. Thought I was buying the "BMV's" instead I got Yugo's. The refridgerator makes a high pitch humming noise. $160 for the new PART ONLY. The ice maker has never worked well and we never have more than 1/4 bucket of stuck together ice.The microwave has been the 'best'. It will cost more to fix than to replace. The top vent cracked off when it was opening up (parts $154). The bottom panel has sunken in($400) Sometimes the whole appliance decides not to work. It is the worlds slowest oven to heat and the glasstop looks 10 years old. I WILL NEVER BUY GE AGAIN. Everytime I look at appliances I make time to tell any salesperson how bad these appliances are. Furthermore, the snotty customer service person told me I should have haven out extended warranties and "learn how to take personal responsibility for my actions". I told her I did not expect something that expensive to self destruct so quickly and I would be responsible for telling anyone who would listen how bad I found both GE products and service. Still Ticked!
Gwen4107 06/18/2008
I purchased a ge profile washer model#WTREG100govt and has had nothing but problems ever since and it hasn't been a year yet. The service guy has come out 5 times to fix the tub because it keeps coming loose and knocking real hard. Ge won't replace unless the tech tells them it not repairable. What a crock of shit. I think we should file a class action action suit against them ,because times are too hard to get ripped off. I will contact the TV stations if I don't get a replacemnt soon. G-*Mad as hell
baba23423 06/17/2008
i got a an upgrade for a ge profile for dishwasher, fridge, and stove and it looked great. it has been 4 months and the freezer has ice build up, the water button is broken, the stovetop scratchs so easy, the top dishrack is so hard to move and the dishes never dry regardless of setting. this set is really pitiful!
AuntPaulette 06/02/2008
Bought our GE Profile Stove a year ago and was so excited - but not any more!! Stovetop is stained and NOTHING cleans it - others have complained about this also. It seems to take forever for the stove top to heat and the customer service has been HORRIBLE - I have always owned GE appliences but this has soured us nd we will NEVER perchase one again - the convection oven is worthless also - follow the directions and you get undercooked baked goods. I consider myself an expert cook - have a different stove in my other home and turn out masterpieces....this one was expensive and worthless!

Isn't EVERYONE having problems with the lower dishrack wheels coming off???? I've had my PDW8280J01SS for just about a year and have the wheels coming off three to four at a time. This happens every time I pull the rack out. It started about 6 months after I got the unit. I used to be able to push the wheels back on and some would be OK for a few days. Then I started gluing the wheels on (maybe not a good idea to have those chemicals around hot water and dishes). Glued wheels hold for a while... but only a month or so. I can't believe there isn't a recall on this. I haven't tried to contact GE yet... has anyone received any guidance/info from GE?

I have a GE profile dishwasher that is 3 months old. My complaint is the even though I use the Added Heat and Heated Dry, when the cycle is done, I still get a lot of water on the inside of the door and I need to towel dry some of the dishes and silverware. Does anyone else have this problem? I do not use the jet dry, which would eliminate this problem, but since my water is so soft, the jet dry leaves a film on my glasses. I have read that some people have problems with the detergent dispenser on the inside of the door. I was told by the GE service man that if you use the detergent dispenser, you must use the same detergent all the time, or else it will clog and you will have to have the dispenser replaced. Also you must test the water to check the softness or hardness. A water hardness test strip indicator comes with the dishwasher. After hardness is determined, you must program into the touch pad. Then the dishwasher will dispense the right amount of detergent. The softer the water, the less you need. This information can be found in you Owner's Manual.

I have a large capacity front loading washer from E G. It is just over one year old and it does not spin all the time. I spent about $3000. on this piece of junk and there customer service basicly said tuff luck and for $80 we can come look at it. Do not go with G E. bad products and bad service!!!!

I redid my kitchen about three years ago and replaced all of the appliances with GE Profile stainless. Initially everything was fine and we loved the features. The honeymoon was short. The convection gas oven's stovetop refused to light and I could hear it arcing where it shouldn't have. Next the refridgerator went warm and we lost the frozen food right before the chinsy ice maker broke. The over range microwave died due to a failed magnetron and fried capacitor. Lastly the dishwasher, which cost over $900.00 looks great but is a total piece of junk due to the lower rack that can't hold on to its wheels and allows the rack to sit directly on the bottom spray assy. I will never ever even consider buying GE anything again.
fixnstuff 03/11/2008
Read these reviews and thought, yep, right, been there, right-on. I've bought appliances for 30 years and never (until I bought this house with new "top-of-the-line" Profile appliances), have these kinds of problems. After 1.8 years the microwave had a melt-down. Not "directly" a magnetron problem, so not covered by a warranty. Buy a new one. Six months later, refrigerator defrost heater problem. Two months later, thermistor problem. Four months later, control board problem. One month later, thermostat problem. Still not working correctly. One month later, microwave failed AGAIN!@$##! Ooooooh, just out of warranty. I bought a different brand. This week (two months later), refrigerator freezer defrost cycle problem. Big surprise. I'll *NEVER* buy GE anything again. Whew. That feels better.

I am having a problem with my 1 yr old smart dispense Ge profile dishwasher. I began to notice that the silverware and some dishes were coming out dirty. I rarely put dishes in withput washing them first, anyhow. When I check the smart dipenser, I noticed that is was full of dishwasher detergent and I have not put it in a long time. I do not think the dispenser is dispensing the soap with each washing. When I put the soap into the manual dipenser the dishes do come out clean. Has anyone else had this probelm. The repair man is scheduled for Friday

GE profile came as part of a new home purchase. We had replaced a 15 year old Kitchen Aid in our old house with the same GE profile dishwasher. The Kitchen Aid outperformed both of the GEs. The GE does not clean as well, leaves more water on the dishes, is difficult to load because of the design of the racks. The racks started losing the little wheel that allow it to roll out on the open door at about 1 year. If you need to open it after it starts to put in that spoon you just discovered, the water will go everywhere unless you do it very slowly. We also got a Profile fridge. Filters are $40, but that's typical, and the switch to activate the water/ice spout has gone out in a year.
Highfather 02/18/2008
We had a GE Profile Microwave and Dishwasher. The microwave's magnatron leak and trashed the display panel..replaced. The spot welds on the dishwasher hinge broke, the liquid soap dispenser hasn't worked in over a year, the wheels fall off the bottom tray and are melted in the heating element, the dishes are never dry or clean. While it may not ahve been the "intent" of GE to sell substandard appliances, they have managed to compleley ruin the brand, and create a generation (or two) of people who will not go near their products. Both of our appliances were less than 2 tears old. I am saddened by the biliking of the American consumer by this corporate giant.
gsjjs1 01/06/2008
I have GE Profile appliances purchased new with my home in 2001. All except the refrigerator have been recalled for safety. The dishwasher drain pump has been replaced twice, the wheels absolutely won't stay on and there is always water at the bottom. The refrigerator has had problems since year 2 and the icemaker pump(?) has broken twice and ruined my hardwood floors and cabinets....the leak is underneath. The defrost timer/cycle is off and many times the milk is spoiled after 3 days. The built-in microwave/oven overheats, the fan comes on whenever it wants to and stays on for hours, the display goes out at least twice a month and comes back on after a few hours.....Ridiculous workmanship. I just heard about the dishwasher recall and then discovered the microwave/oven recall. Will be buying all new appliances and NOT taking GE up on their rebate offer.

Beautiful when installed ... sucks from that day forward! I love the look of this stove top. I lost my love for it, after I used it. It's easily scratched, chipped or discolored. It requires heavy maintenance. I wouldn't do this again! D. Graney Daly City, Ca.

I'm simply amazed by some of the comments listed here. No doubt there some real concerns about product disfuction on some machines but the intent attitude to give the idea that G. E. as a whole is "junk" is sadly wrong. Like the man that stated he bought a cond. fan for his ref. and it's broke again, leaving u to think that G. E. won't stand behind theirproduct is clearly incorrect. You order parts from any manufacture that are of electric or electronic in nature or design are not generally replaceable by the manufacture because 99 percent of the time the person buying the part has no tech background and is not totally aware of what they are doing or how the unit works. Why should they stand behind stupidity.... As a appliance tech (not with G. E.)for over 10 years I can tell you that G. E. isnot perfect, theyhave their share of problems just like all the other Appliance Manufactures do, and trust me, G. E. doesn't have half the problems the others do. I tell all my clients, due to the federal requirments for energy savings and the fact that the majority of all new appliances today are more advanced and full of electronics to buy the extended service contract because you will need it after the factory service expires. IT DOESN'T MANTTER WHAT BRAND OR MAKE U GET IT WILL BREAK, AND IF IT IS NEW IN DESIGN U ARE THE LUCKY ONE TO TEST THE PRODUCT FOR THE MANUFACTURE. IT'S NO DIFFERENT THAN BUYING A NEW CONCEPT CAR. All the manufactures have a web site to leave comments on problems or design flaws. One should check these web sites before making a purchse. And Remember, The salesman will tell u that "It's top of the line" if he even slightly detects u are interested. Heck, I even heard sales people in Sears tell customers "you can take the plates right off the table and put directly into the dishwasher", come on, when have you ever seen a garbage disposal mounted into a dishwasher. It's one thing to be mad, but another thing to bad mouth in an attempt to cause harm.
SonjaKlaus 11/25/2007
This was a terrible purchase. I cheaped out and bought a GE Profile dishwasher instead of going with a Bosch dishwasher, which I have previously owned and loved in our other house. The GE Profile does a very poor job of cleaning my dishes and glassware. I have soap residue and streaks on my plates and glasses. The wheels on the bottom rack fell off and melted in the drying unit. Very difficult to slide out bottom rack and plates don't fit properly in the bottom rack either. Very disappointed with this dishwasher.
TeresaD 11/11/2007
I have the GE profilers series for all my appliances, and it was the biggest waste of money I have ever spent. EVERYTHING i have is broke. Including the frdge, the dishwasher, the stove,a nd the microwave. ALL were considered the "top of the line" yeah what-ever. I am so disappointed, and it's too late now. The store owners won't even put in my comments. NEVER AGAIN will I EVER buy from GE.
michbun 11/06/2007
This dishwasher sucks!!! The wheels fell of and food collects at the bottom. I have to wash them by hand before putting them into the dishwasher. I am chucking this into the garbage today. I have run the damn thing twice and still not clean! Save your money!!!!!!

We have a one year old GE Profile dishwasher and it is great...yup, great! It cleans very well, is quiet and looks great (stainless). We do have one problem in that the time does odd things. When turned on normal wash it will set at about 64 mintues and when we come in 30 minutes later is says 58 minutes, then 10 minutes later it is done...wierd. I gotta read the book incase it is something to do with the clean sensor.
cirn88 05/24/2007
Wow...amazed to see everyone having my same problems. Investigating new models since the recall this month. Now I am considering not even taking the 300 dollar rebate and buying a different brand all together. Very disappointing. There are intermittent times when the dirty water does not drain from the basin. The wheels are falling off DAILY. My larger items, even dinner plates, are too big for the bottom and throw the wheels off the track when I try to close. My GE Profile microwave completely busted a few months ago as well after only 4 years of use. Guess I would recommend to stay away from this brand.

Never ever again. I am so disappointed after changing from the very dependable Kenmore line to the GE Profile line. We purchased the Washer, Dryer and Dishwasher and all three suck big time. The Washer is possessed. It cycles and automatically begins the cycle on its own, agitating, rinsing, spining then repeats the rinse cycle on its own. Of course the technician had to admit that the machines are so new they do not have enough info to repair. In addition, some clothes are mysteriously shredded. Cause unknown. The Dishwasher, washes and ALWAYS leaves residue on the dishes, in addition there is ALWAYS a food build up on the entrance to the washer, even when you rinse the dishes prior to washing. DO NOT BUY THESE GE PRODUCTS. I am so major, disappointed.........and you will be too.

I would give this zero stars if I could. We bought the ge profile to match our new fridge. In no time, the wheels fell off and burned in the heating element. This led to the water spinner on the bottom not spinning. The dishes never looked worse. We spent almost a grand for a horrible dishwasher that the salesman said was awesome. No matter how hard I tried, I could never get the wheels to stay attached, and even when they did, the dishes did not look clean. I would not want this dishwasher to wash even my dogs bowl.

I have GE Profile appliances in my kitchen. They came with the house. The refrig, dishwasher and oven where all purchases 4 years ago. The refrig and dishwasher are both broken. I replaced the condenser fan motor with a new one from the GE site about a month ago and guess what?? Its broken again. GE won't stand behind its products because they know they make garbage.I wish they had a rating below terrible because one star is too many!! Save your money, this stuff is junk. Don't let the high price tag fool you.I now have really expensive paperweights instead of working appliances.

Garbge, Garbage and MORE Garbage. DO NOT BUY THIS!! We purchased the GE Profile assuming that we were buying quality; boy were we ever wrong!! Had it for a liile over a year and had a heating element problem; BANG!! you guessed it, out of warranty. Aboout a year later, the water wouldn't drain out of it. BANG! another repair for a coupla' hundred. Now, almost a year later, BANG! it won't drain again. This time we cut our losses and bought a Bosch. Hopefully we will get what we paid for here. Oh-and by-the-way, we did send a complaint to GE and guess what??? We weren't even given the courtesy of a response!!

We bought a GE profile dishwasher for our new home. It doesn't get the dishes clean. And, the things that hold up the dishes are too short, so the dishes fall over. Can't wait for it to break so we can get a different brand. Judging from the experience of our neighbors and problems with other GE appliances, it should be any minute now.
