I love my 1995 Ford Escort with CD player good car to get around town with and it is dependable and has lots of room I've had it for years and it just keeps on going. Even took it on trips and slept in the back cause I can put the seat down and sleep in the back. When I get another vehicle I hope to get another one since it at 245,000 miles is still drivable. These things just seem to last forever at least the engines do anyway. God bless you all and happy shopping for a car.

My wife and I own a 1994 Ford Escort wagan. It is a very good little car. It is a simply pont A to B car and no more. If you want performance then look elsewhere. If you want a relieable daily driver then seriously consider this small car. This car is basic with minimal frills and as far as power you can forget that. The 1.9L 4 cylinder is 88HP so again this is simply a econo box car. If you maintain the car like you should....do not run it hard or race it, then it will last a long time and be trouble free. When it needs service use the best parts you can afford and simply treat the car well....if you do it will serve you well.

Bought a 95 Escort with 103K on it. No problems, until I went to a Jiffy Lube one day. After that, lost compression in 2, 3, and cylinder head went bad. Seems to have a problem with small oil leaks, the gasket doesn't seem to seal.

almost bought two separate escorts if they wernt selling for so much. i think the engine is too weak, but it's a great car for me so i could take 2 college. but reliablity? can't say. and the AC sucks on the newer ones for some reason....

I don't remember now if the car was 3 years old or 4 years old, but in any event, still decently new. Lost compression on the 1st cylinder, we would have had to either overhaul or replace the entire engine. The repair was going to just about run more than the value of the car (Ford Escorts don't depreciate well), and we had gotten the vehicle secondhand, so there was no warranty to fall back on. Traded that lemon in for a whopping $600 and considered it worth the loss to be done with it.

My 93 wagon has been a great second car. No major problems except heater core, great mileage, great for hauling things, very reliable. Except for regular repair or replacement items ie... battery, tires no problems with almost 100k miles.

No major complaints, no major repairs. I've got about 60K on my '95. For a "less expensive" car it's not bad.

I wasn't thrilled with the idea of a ford escort wagon. I really wanted a Saturn! But this has turned out to be a great little car. A bit sluggish on hills, but very reliable, a good amount of space for stuff inthe back and excellent gas mileage. I have had no trouble with my used escort in over a year. Much cheaper than the alternatives too!
