 | Carterdayne (0) 11/01/2005 | I've owned American made cars and have regreted every one of them. They fall apart at every turn. Then I bought a Nissan - and still talk about what a good car that was. After living in Europe for 3 1/2 years, I returned needing a wagon and bought a Jetta 1.8T. Love at drive with the German engineering. Test drove Audi, Lexus, Volvo for this car purchase and for incredible engineering, styling, and re-sale - my 325i with the sport and winter package is top of the heap. If you're concerned with gas mileage - this is not the car for you. If you can afford it, this is where you'll want to end up. Wow! By the way, our other car is an '06 530i. It's an entirely different car.

 | PlanetaryGear (52) 09/30/2005 | The competition is closing in on this Bavarian Bad Boy. While I'm not crazy about the new Bimmers styling, there is no denying the capabilities of this legendary series. The wonderful dynamics of the chassis , and the excellent driving ergonomics ie; pedal placement, laterally suportive seats, and the perfect action of the various 5-6 speed transmissions, give the 3 series its well earned reputation as being the Ultimate Driving Machine. 5 stars for the alien beast known as the M3!

 | BIGBABY (10) 02/23/2003 | The 3-Series is by far the class leader. It has perfect engineering. What's not to like about this car? It's fast, has excellent turning, excellent reliability, excellent resale values, excellent acceleration... get the picture?

 | thechill (0) 05/17/2001 | I have the new 330Xi. Let's just say BMW rules and anyone against it hasn't been in one or can't drive.

 | npro5739et (0) 04/05/2000 | Every thing about the 3 series seems nice EXCEPT for the manual shift. At least in the 2000 model that had a transmission made in France, the shift seemed to stick before it went into gear - not that satisfying ker-chunk you might expect from a semi-expensive German car. I am curious if other car-hounds have the same opinion, or if the shift wears in and gets smoother - this was a 7 mile vehicle.
