I would like to say that my experience at radio shack was wonderful...the sales girl I had was wonderful. I am just sorry that I don't remember her name, I bought a phone she did everything she could so that. I could use my phone right away and may I say including the plastic sheet that protects the screen. She made my buying experience extremely pleasant. Thank you!!!

I just got home from radio shack and joined this site to express my frustration. I went in to buy a fuse for my guitar amplifier. I didn't have the specs for the fuse, but I had the little thingy the fuse plugs into. The guy was slamming a phone contract on some old lady, so i had a little time to look over the fuses. There were about five different ones that would fit the device I brought in but I wasn't totally sure which one I needed. When the guy go to me, I explained my problem, told him that I wasn't sure the amperage or whatever and asked if he could go online and look it up. He told me some bullshit about "it'll be ok, cause if it's over or under powered, the fuse will blow and nothing bad will happen." No shit buddy, that's what fuses are for!!! He basically sold me the first one he found that fit my device. After picking out the (wrong) fuse, I started asking him about a power cord for my guitar effects pedal. I wasn't even done asking the question before he told me to go home and buy it on amazon.com cause radio shack doesn't sell it. After reading other posts I know why he rushed me out of the store like that....another old lady had stepped into the store, she asked to use the restroom....I'll bet she didn't get to use the restroom, but now has a new cell phone!!!

Please don't buy anything at Radio Shack. They charge way too much. Wal-Mart sells a Magnavox DVD Recorder/VCR for $158.00. Radio Shack has the exact same DVD Recorder/VCR and they're charging $250.00 for it.The recession has made people spend their money wisely. It is not wise to pay an extra $92.00 for a DVD Recorder/VCR. I give Radio Shack a 1 star rating.

Has since changed its name to "The Shack", because they want people believe that the shop has more than just transistors and fuses. Whoever thought of this idea clearly is looking for a bailout. Sounds exactly like the kind of place I'd avoid, if I didn't know they were formerly Radioshack. They'd stand a better chance of improving their bottom line if they served oysters and pina colada's and had a straw thatch roof with a Florida Keys theme. Can't remember the last time I was there, but it couldn't have been for much more than a cell phone battery or data cable. If you're into building ham radios or a space shuttle, it might be worth a look, but the selection of computer parts and computers is minimal, at best. Then again, anyone with a clue would go to MicroCenter in Cambridge, which is well stocked with DIY parts and a fine selection of computers and audio/video equipment. Most everything in the place is overpriced and in many cases of cheap quality, and what selection of radios, televisions, cells phones, computers and audio equipment they have is minimal at best. This place is for those folks who are intimidated by true tech stores or don't have a Best Buy nearby. The service and technical knowledge of the staff is horrendous. Most of the time, unless you actually bring in the part your looking for, you're on your own, trying to find the item through a maze of improperly place items. Whoever designed the layout, was clearly devoid of any sense of how to showcase items. You can name it whatever you want, but it's still Radioshack, and that ain't good.

Radio shack SUCKS -I purchased an LNB at a store and went to reutrn it 4 days later and they wouldnt take it back. $54 wasted. They should be called Radio Sh*t. They enter all of my data for the sale into a computer (like Lowes and Home Depot) so they have the info, they just want to steal from you.Their batteries suck as well, so dont buy them either.

I worked for Radio Shack solely because there was no other job. A constant turnover in the help should have tipped me off. I went in to get a battery for a cordless phone. The man was shaking as this enormous woman stood over his shoulder as he tried to plug the battery into the phone. It turns out the manager of this store likes this woman better then the other employees. She literally scares the help away. Just before getting put in the store 2 employees quit at the same time. My training had been inadequate. The woman that is friends with the manager took a sale from me. When it was reported all hell broke loose. Not for the woman who stole my sale but for me. She got a few days off. She had scared more then one employee into quitting but no one told the DM why. After the episode my hours were cut drastically and I was mistreated by the manager. The pressure to sell phones and service plans is enormous. I don't know anyone who was actually fired but they do threaten a lot and cut your hours to try to get you to resign. The customers are pretty rude as a rule. Almost everyone needs help. When the digital conversion happened the customers blamed RS. Others sold converter boxes and antennas but not many will listen or advise people on the hookup. The pay here is $7.21 an hour. My last job paid $8.00 so naturally I'm put out. Nickel and dime commission on wires and batteries and a whole $5.00 on an activated phone. These are generally a nightmare. You get very little training where I work on the subject. Another thing is that managers try to get you to train of the clock. I have called the department of Labor and it is illegal if you want to put your neck out to report it. Most people do not wish to get a contract phone as their credit is checked. During a recession most people do not wish to have their credit checked or to be tied to a 2 year contract.

Radio Shack blows....let me tell you my work experience with them...First of all the money definetly went down hill. They expect way to much for what they pay you. Pushing us to sell phones..and service plans...and radio shack cards that no one wants..etc..Any ways the managment is horrendous.. my manager was fat ass who was like 400 pounds and all he did was complain, and leave early everyday because he said he has a family to take care of when in all reality he was fat and just wanted to go home and eat himself to death. He would hire so many people and then fire them if they didnt sell up to his standards when in all reality he did nothing and his numbers sucked to and then threaten your job because your numbers were not good enough....I could go on and on but its not worth it...this company will rip you off...do not buy from them beleave me there stuff is cheap and a piece of shit..and all they want is your money. Also dont buy service plans through them they dont cover shit...how do i know because i used to sell them on a daily basis and now i feel like im going to hell for just selling them because it was wasting peoples money ...stay away and go to best buy this company is shit!!!!!!!!!!

I will NEVER do business with Radio Shack again. As a long time customer I was appalled when I went to return a cable that a sales rep sold me. It was the WRONG cable, of coarse. I went to return it the next day with receipt and unopened. The cable was $29.00 and the cashier told me he couldn't give me a refund due to the fact that he did not have enough money in his drawer. $29.00. Not enough cash in his drawer. It was 4:00 in the afternoon. He instead wanted to get me to buy more things from him instead. When I told him I would get my cable elsewhere and just wanted a refund, he got rude and obnoxious. Well goodbye Radio Shack and the old bait and switch. P@ss off Radio Shack!!!

I bought a Pro-106 scanner and the sales associates did not know hwo to program it. I payed over $500.00. I went to return it the next day with my full reciept and they refused due to they had too many returns that day from customers. This is the poorest business I ever delt with in Irwin PA. Do not buy anything from Radio Shack ever, you will be ripped off.

As a former employee of the radio shat, The only good thing I have to say about it is, they have worthless crap you cant find anywhere else. Other than that nothing, the worst stock levels I have ever seen as a n employee, Poor managers who are nothing more than glorified sales associates who have no control of their store(cant hire or fire) according to some poor old man who has worked there for 17 years. The only way to make any money is to sell ~20 contract phones a months which is nearly impossible considering who the hell goes to rs for a cell phone? nobody thought so. By far the worst job in electronic retail out there. Go work for BB or Fry's or one of those random local ones at least they pay enough to justify the effort and treat their employees somewhat better.Stop buying Repair/protection/exwarranty plans on crap its almost 100% profit for Rs.

I will NEVER do business with radio shack! Here’s what happened to me, I purchased a “Gigaware PC to TV converter, on Lancaster drive in Salem, and it didn’t works, so i took it back for an exchange, but they didn’t have anymore, so sent me 15 miles to one that did, so I went there got the “new one” and went home to make sure it worked, inside wasnt even the same converter! AND on the box it had a sticker that said “sell as is, $45,” when I had paid $79.99 for the one I exchanged with them! Jerks. So I took it back with the item, (which, btw was a simple Cable to RCA box) I say, i took it back within 15 min of purchasing it and they wouldn’t take it back! Regardless of the fact that it was the incorrect item, his main reason was because it said “sell as is” on it, which I was unaware of when I had exchanged it! Cheaters, he wouldn’t give me store credit, and I called the district office and they refuse to look into it or help me! wth! I’ve never seen anything like it in my life! Totally unfair store, Bad customer service!!! Please help me by calling this number and complaining to the district office near me, Please call them 503-255-7555

I work for Radio Shack for a few months now. I worked for two stores. The first store was nice because only there was always an associate availible to help. The rest. Did not like it due to deal with a bunch of questions that can sometimes be hardcore. When I got transfered to a high theft store. I like the people I work with but not the store or area. I have to babysit the people that steal. Try doing that but what difference does that make? Especially when you are by yourself or helping other customers that "buy" or ask questions. Short staffed. Long hours to work in a short lunch. Cannot take a break when in the store because the phone goes off nonstop. Manager working 6 days a week for over 50 hours. I feel scared being alone in the store for several hours. Poor pay too. I am currently looking for a high paying job that meets my work history.

I ordered a Gateway M-7305u from Radio Shack online on Thanksgiving night (11/27/08) for $599 plus $100 mail in rebate off that. It said it was "in stock at the warehouse". A week later, that was STILL the order status. So, I called them. They assured me it was "in stock" and would be shipping in 1 to 2 days. The NEXT DAY, I get an e-mail telling me it was "out of stock" and "no longer available" and that my order has been CANCELLED. I went to their website and they STILL had the SAME computer (same model #) on their site, AVAILABLE...but, now it costs $699 and has no rebate. So, how can it NOT be available to those who purchased it at $599, but it IS for sale if you want to pay the CURRENT $699 price??????? Sounds like SWINDLERS to me!!! Now that I've MISSED all the "Black Friday" sales others had, I have to go find one at the HIGHER price... But, NOT (and NEVER) at Radio Shack!!!!

If you like the pain in the ass hard sell then this is the place for you. I don't use a cell phone and don't want one but one day while waiting for my wife at the mall, about ten years ago, I wandered into a Radio Shack, This guy comes up to me and starts with the hard sell, no matter how many times I told him no, he just kept insisting that I buy a phone. I was getting irritated. Still, he persisited. Next thing I knew I was walking out of the store with a phone I didn't want. I'm afaraid to go into a Radio Shack now.

I ordered a sale priced item off their website yesterday that clearly said "IN STOCK" I was informed a few hours later by email that they were actually out of stock so they couldn't send me the product I paid for. I think that is dishonest that they say I can buy the item and that its in-stock just to take it away from me a while later and say to bad. They should at least give a rain check. NOT RIGHT
Chalky 11/05/2008
Yeah, I really like paying for something at Radio Shack when I can get it $10 cheaper at Target.

I worked for RadioShack for a year and it was HORRIBLE!!! I was promoted to store manager and I made more at my current job as an assistant manager than I made as a store manager at RadioShack. Talk about a waste of a year!!!

One of the few stores that carries individual electronic parts. I don't buy many of their retail products like stereos, etc. But the CD player and cassette tape player I bought over twenty years ago are still working. Not so with the computer monitor but it lasted as long as any other brand I've owned.

I just experienced the worst customer service ever at RadioShack in Canton, GA. Basically, they told me they did not have what I was looking for, i purchased something else close. As I was leaving, I saw in the corner exactly what I was looking for. I asked to return what I just purchased an purchase the item I desired. The manager became flustered, started yelling and cussing at me (completely unprovoked). I mean this kid was dropping the F-BOMB. I asked to speak with the district manager and got the toll free number instead. I got my money back and left, never to return to any RadioShack again. BTW, they lost a pretty good sized sale today. It is clear that this sales system is stressed, to the breaking point. Wake up RS management, your ship is sinking.

For all you people bashing Radio Shack, do some freaking research. Everything they have to offer I found to be cheap and useful, and trust me I looked elsewhere first. Every other store I went to was way to expensive and had crummy equipment. I for one work for Radio Shack and am proud to be an Employee.

I used to work in a radioshack and quit faster than I could answer any questions....that job was so lame. I still regard it 10 yrs later as my worst job ever not to mention the geezer of a manager I had trying to steal my sales just b/c I was new and it was a slow turtle store. Treating employees like slaves with minimum wage you work just to buy your lunch hopefully you can buy a happy meal and not to mention horrible ancient inventory methods where you had to handcount every damn battery. We also were not able to watch the Tv as the manager didn't like that. I was about to go mental so I quit!!

I got a radio shack brand infrared wireless headphone (#33-1025)for a present. The range was so bad that I could not move more than a few feet before it would make a loud hissing sound. After having it for a couple of weeks I gently bumped (and I mean gently) the transmitter where the plug to the wire which connects to the source plugs in and it just completely quit working. When my wife tried to return it to the store, they told her that she could only get store credit since she didn't have her receipt, even though they tracked her purchase by her credit card. She opted to get a replacement instead, but I really didn't want it so I tried to take it back. When I agreed to take store credit, they gave me $29.99 for them which is $10 less than the price listed on the internet which my wife paid. When she found out, she went and tried to get the rest of what she paid. The associate at the store at the time told her that he didn't know how to ring the transaction, so she got the headphones back. She's going to try to get store credit for what she paid when she can get back there and see a manager. This is not the first time I've had serious problems with radio shack brand or with their associates, but I hope it will be the last.

As a radioshack employee, i can tell you, yes, radioshack does rip you off, but asks yourself, who doesn't? In the real world and perfect world, we would tell you every little detail that would make you not wanna buy the product or the warranty, but it's not a perfect world. And i as an employee get paid on commission. It does not mean i will lie to you, it means i won't answer every little "stupid" question you have about a "5amp 250v" fuse. I work there for one reason only. To make money. And i make it. To those posting complaining that they make $6-9 hourly. Because you choose to. I make $13+ an hour. How? Very simple. OFFER! I use to be an ass with customers, because they frustated me with how stupid their questions were. Most customers treat us like shit, so how can we be so kind when we get treated like pure crap? I recently transferred stores after been fired from my store. Best that could have ever happened to me. I am now making even more money. How? Bigger store. More traffic. And, i'm changed. I no longer choose to argue with fuck heads. I kill them with kindness. I help people out. I don't do it for the money anymore. And they see that, so what do they do? They trust me, and buy the product. And they are making the right decision, because i really am been honest to them and i really do wanna help people and even though i may be one of the very few radioshack employees who who do this, i still wanna make change, even if it's a very small change. All i been reading is how we employees are the devil. Well i don't doubt you guys. Radioshack has 90% of employees like that because of the pay and because they don't train you. I learned as i went. Didn't know anything. Now i'm very knowledgeable about mostly everything. And about lying? Yes some employees lie. Because they like wasting their time. I don't lie. If it's one thing i hate the most. That's a return and wasting my time. So if i'm gonna bullshit a customer. I better prepare myself for an argument and of course, losing my commission. For those who say i don't shop at radioshack or will never go into a radioshack, let me tell you. Not every radioshack is the same. There are many, so look around. You will find one that has an employee like me who likes helping people and treats them like human beings. Once you find such an employee. Keep going back to him/her, we appreciate customers who come back to us and we then consider you more like a friend. If you start talking to an employee and he talks kinda rude or not looking like he wants to help. Walk away, ask someone else. First impression is big, do judge a book by its cover. And one more thing, if you're commiting to get into a 2 year contract with aTT or sprint. Choose an employee who knows WTF he is doing. You don't want a BUBBA helping you out. He/Her will make mistakes and fuck you over. Shop at Radioshack. Bottom line.
SharonParry 07/14/2008
Damn employeekuan, could you go more indepth than this? That was a review and a half! Glad to see you made some changes in your way of talking to customers and loved the descriptive and honest outlook on what you and the customers have as a connection. Far as I'm concerned, Radio Shack may have higher prices but they seem expert. Oh, by the way, I might have been one of those annoying customers on more than one ocassion. I'm not skilled with electronics. That's why I go to this particular store. I do it just the way you suggest too. If an employee is rude with me, I move on to another who has more of a desire to help. The products are some of the best and you're right. Once you find someone willing to be helpfull, stick with them. It's worth it for the sheer knowledge. One more thing... it's not just this store I can find rude staff. Many places I go, there are people who I can listen to for less than a minute to find out they really don't like what they do for a living. I feel sorry for them. Maybe we should have a job trading bank people can use sort of like a bartering system so people could find jobs they can be happy with. This would make life so much more enjoyable for both employees and customers. :)

I was given wrong technical advice and sold a product that I did not need from Radio Shack. I returned it in perfect condition beyond the 30 day limit and told that I could only get store credit. It is easy to forget about or lose such a credit; meanwhile Radio Shack is accruing the interest on my money, which I spent based on their faulty advice.
gemnii52271 04/14/2008
"You've got questions, we've got answers!" What a lie. They can barely tell you where the fuses are anymore. These stores are useless, unless you know what you are looking for and can explain it to the sales clerk in 5th grade language.
Irene6963 03/27/2008
I bought a Compaq Notebook. I filled out the rebate form and sent it in. I got an e-mail "we received your rebate application." Three weeks later I get a postcard that they need the UPC code. I call them and am told the only place I can get that is from the box. I threw the box out. The product was scanned in at the store, I believe the bar code appears on the receipt I mailed to them. I mailed them plenty of information. They won't take the serial number on the computer. Tough luck I am out of $60.00. I have a feeling if it wasn't one thing it would be another. I wonder how many rebate applications are rejected?
headon 03/04/2008
overall not good. their customer service is way over the top and rude. i only go there for cables and stuff. i actually did buy a phone there because believe it or not they did have the cheapest price. but all around newegg and amazon are way better.

Bought the on-site service plan when I bought my 37" flat-panel TV. What they didn't tell me then was that 1) you'll get a REFURBISHED replacement if it can't be fixed, and 2) they may not anyone in your area to perform the repair (which is my case). My TV "died" a month ago and I still haven't received the replacement. The lame excuse for the insurance carrier was that they'd called and left a message to verify my ship-to address. So now I have to wait until 3 t 5 business days.

I purchased a Sprint Phone and service and only planned to try out the first 10 days and then cancel so that I didn't get billed another 2 years. I payed the deposit and first month and the service was turned on and I bought a phone. What happens? I come back 9 days later to cancel and I spent maybe 30 minutes there in the store. I was assured by the sales associate (same one who sold it to me) that I'd receive a complete refund by mail, my deposit that is, and then there would be no more billing. What happens? I get a nice bill in the mail and then I was forced to commit... Why? Pretty sure the sales associate was pulling my leg and didn't want to take the hit on his commission. Been getting billed since then.... Last time I ever walked into a RadioShack. Their image is no longer what it used to be, to me.

I haven't bought anything from RadioShack in many years except a very low-priced keyboard for my p.c. They were quite a good store 25 or 30 years ago when my Dad used to buy their brand of stereo equipment, phones, radio equipment etc. They used to sell good quality electronics, but not anymore. People want more selection and better prices these days than RS can possibly offer. I gave up on them about 18 yrs ago when their $60 clock radio failed after 3 months of use and they would not stand behind their product. They only care about selling you the extended warranties !

I went to your store in Grapevine Texas. (Grapevine Mills Mall) I went in to find a usb adapter for my GPS unit. I handed it to the employee by the name of Trey. He then dropped it on the floor!!! His statement was "it will be okay, you can't get a signal in here anyway since we have a copper roof here." He did not find a adapter for my GPS, but then tried to sell me a card reader! I told him I didn't need one, I have one already. My husband and I left the mall at that point. I took my GPS out of my purse, connected it to the window/dash, plugged in the DC adapter, turned it on and it was on a screen showing the location of the mall....the words "Grapevine Mills" (Street/Lane/Road), which of course is where he dropped it!!! I thought that while driving it would change but it didn't. I turned it off to reset it. I left it off for 5-10 minutes several times while taking my 45 minute drive home and it still was stuck on that screen!!! I took the SD card out hoping that would help, it didn't. When we got home, I called the store back and spoke with the employee Trey. He told me that he was sorry he dropped it, but that I needed to call the manufacturer of the GPS for assistance since this was not a brand that Radio Shack carries and that he could not assist me. He made it seem that it was my fault!!! I advised him that I was not the one that dropped it and it had never been dropped and was working perfectly before I even entered the store!!! I just wanted the adapter so I could download the updated maps. He then said he could not help me and hung up. Seriously furious at this point, I called the Radio Shack Customer Service number 800-843-7422 and was told by that person that they could not help me and that I would have to call again tomorrow due to them being in Florida and that they could not assist me since they only handle web problems and this was very unfortunate and he knows that Radio Shack would make this right and replace my GPS. And, this was "customer service" not being able to help??? Anyway, I then called my local store here in Mansfield. (This is the store I normally go to and trust) I spoke with Aaron, the manager, and explained what had happened. He couldn't believe how I have been treated and gave me the phone number to a District Manager named Ken Bowers and a Tina Gustin at 972-399-8700. He also advised that Risk Management should be notified so this can be taken care of as soon as possible. Since this happened after business hours Thursday January 3, 2008, no one could do anything. I am very upset because this salesperson at your store basically blew me off and broke my GPS. HE DROPPED AND BROKE MY GPS, I didn't do it, he did and he is refusing to take any responsibility!!!

Purchased a GPS system at $110 off in their sale flyer over the phone. Was told that I would initially be billed $249 plus tax and once it shipped the $110 would be credited back to my card. In the last 30 days I have made 5 phone calls & spent over an hour trying to get the credit & the SUPERVISOR says "sorry, it was an in-store only promotion" even though (I still have) the ad stating that it is also available online & by phone. The current sale price is $149, but still are charging me $249. NEVER again will I buy from Raodio Shack - NEVER.

As a manager for radioshack, I am not shamed to say that this company is going through a trip in hell. Not to mention the fact that the pay scale is horrible for the employees, the pay for store managers are even worse. I kept on thinking sometimes that why am I working so far, putting over 60 hours a week at a store that only pays me little bit over poverty line (with no over time pay)? I find it really tough to manage a store volume store comparing to a big volume store, because they can afford hire people..... I often find myself losing my mind staying at the store due to lack of enough and focus, the reason? Because we are just too TIRED for this crap. The company recently just went through a manager change, taking out almost all the senior managers who were getting tenure pay (to cut down the cost). This includes my former manager. It is really unfair for us to work over 60 hours a week, I spent more time in the store then at home!!!! The new pay scale for associates is just a joke. Newly promoted assistant managers are getting paid only 1 dollar and change more an hour. And they have the extra responsibilities. This company also has the worst buyers out of all retail. Lack of focus on which product they want to carry is the main problem. Newly launched gaming category is just way too late when xbox 360 came out 2 years ago. Low margin items such as tvs, cameras are making it even harder to make them profitable. With all the accessories you sell, how many you can really push? on average, a customer may take 2 or 3? maybe the warrenty? If Radioshack is trying to compete with bestbuy or CC, they just simply do not have the space in the store to make an impact on the cusomters, it really requires the asscoiates to sell. No wonder the company is doing bad, i know the economy is not so great , but Radioshack is doing even worse. These are just the few points.

Ok, Are you ready for this? The reason I am looking up things like "radioshack sucks" LOL is the fact I fell into the idea of making money. The newest pay system SUCKS! For the last 3 months I held on to a job making $6.67 an hour. (Min Wage BTW) becouse my manager told me that black friday was the day to "make money". In the last 6 weeks I had to travel over 150 miles total to a sales meeting with out district manager. (BTW thats on the clock and eating into your sales per hour for the week) After being told over and over that making 10-16 an hour was possible during the week. Well you get the idea. Black friday comes. What fun it is to tell 150+ people the $99 zune we sold out of in 4 min of opening the door is gone. (we had TWO of them) So the day keeps going. Working from 5 in the morning to 8 at night is fun btw. Only to look at the numbers to see I sold more than anyone else at our store. And not only did I sell almost 7k worth of stuff. My profit margin is almost double anyone else. And what does all this kicking ass and taking names earn me when I do the math. Not even 9.50 an hour! for the week I sold 9k worth of radio shack in one store all by myself. Only to get told when I asked why I am getting screwed "you didn't sell any cell phones". Hard to sell a phone when you sell everything and anything in one store My advice. Work at a radio shack for 3 months. Get trained and go some place else

Don't ever try to buy anything from Radio Shack online from Black Fridays sales papers. They advertised one thing but they put it online for something different, their stores don't have the product either. They give some store one and some stores didn't even get any. I called them and he told me if I would have put the product in the shopping cart they would have reimbursed me the difference later. How are you suppose to know that? Then when they conventiently became out of stock they were online for the sales price?? Something fishy with this vendor. Don't buy from them!!

Their store prices are always higher than their website.

hey, all you folks out there who bash Radio Shack, but have never worked in one... get a clue... the people you see running the store are not the ones to hate... we only do what we are told, which is to sell as much of our most profitable items as possible, or be terminated (employment at the shack is "at will"). If we don't hassle consumers, something a shy, laid back individual such as myself hates to do, we can be fired as well. As far as product knowledge goes... I challenge any man, woman or child on this planet to explain to me in detail the function, priciples behind function, composition, and origin of all of the hundreds of thousands of products we carry. It simply cannot be done, especially not while some teenage chick with her illigit kid is screaming in your ear, as you eyeball the strange man who keeps fidgeting in his pocket with soemthing that looks like a gun at 9 o clock at night! Why don't you go lock yourself in a tiny glass box full of millions of dollars in electronics and cash on a street corner in the ghetto, all the while wearing your little nametag which might as well say "I have the key to the register!". so no, don't complain to or about the store employees for anything that concerns lack of some obscure piece of information about your 1968 HAM radio setup... instead, please, please, please call corporate, and beg them, like i do, for help, support, and maybe, a little more than minimum wage for compensation... thank you for your time.

Radio Shack has become a bit of a relic. The transistor kits were great when I was a kid...geez, I must be getting old. It was great in the day and age when a curious and relatively inexperienced person could open up a computer and change its operation with a jumper, or install a new hard drive, or something like that. Now it'd be difficult to do that without consulting a company employee. A trip to Radio Shack won't help.

I only go to Radio Shack if I have to; they really don't have very much in their store.

RadioShack used to be a good store, back when they still carried a lot of components like chips, resistors, switches, fuses, etc. But now all the do is try to force feed a new computer, cell phone, or remote control car down your throat when you walk in the door.

While they may have *some* individual components left in stock, I wouldn't necessarily rely on them for any hobby needs, the over-priced 3rd-party overstocks don't seem to be so prominent anymore, but neither does any support for them seem to be available any longer. Why would anyone want to buy some cheap piece of junk just 'cause it's cheap from some company known for leaving their customers holding the bag when it breaks down?

Radioshack.com is ridiculous- will not allow cancellation of an order until it is received. Also ordering item for store pickup- involves a shipping delay even tho the item already stocked in store and available immediately. Supposedly order can only be cancelled by going to store to do so. How totally backward. Would not order again online. If item in local store, it should be available immediately, even if ordered online.

I work for this lame company and I agree with anyone who says that the pay scale is horrible. All of you people out there that say "Oh, well, you don't know how to sell if you don't make money.", are full of crap. I made money before Feb 07 when they changed the pay plan. Now, I make commission on batteries and accessories??? CRAP!!! I now have no motivation to sell a TV or any end item product. Our customers are all over the age of 95 and only come in looking for damn batteries....I want to give our CEO one hell of a piece of my mind. NEWB!!

The local employees are great but if you have to deal with customer service you will get the raw end of the deal.
