I don't really share the other reviewers enthusiasm for this food. Avoderm is a gimmick food. Avocado oil promotes healthy skin and coat in a natural manner, right? Yeah, maybe if you rub it into your skin. But for carnivores such as our pet cats, avocado oil is not too much more than fat. It may make the coat shiny and silky, but so does bacon grease... should we feed that to our cats? And with the quality of ingredients in Avoderm, the extra fat is vital to create a facade of good health. Avoderm Natural Adult Cat Food with Chicken and Herring Meal (their original formula) contains two doses of worthless and potentially allergenic corn, in the form of ground whole corn and corn gluten meal as the second and third ingredients. Corn, for the record, causes many cats to have dry, flaky, brittle coats. So this food dries out the skin and coat with an unnatural, unnecessary carbohydrate such as corn, then greases up the skin and coat with an unnatural, unnecessary oil. Also, just to point out, a chemical in avocados, persin, is thought to be toxic to cats, dogs, and other animals. It may or may not be present in the avocado oil featured in this food, but is most assuredly present in the avocado meal that is also listed in the ingredients of Avoderm. Something to think about.

Excellent ingredients, my cat loves it. You can tell it's good when you see your cat's fur this healthy.
