I don't really consider Stevie Nicks a "soft rock" artist though some of her music was on the softer side, she really was a pop/rock artist. Her solo work was softer than her work with Fleetwood Mac but she had some upbeat songs.

good grief once again what is wrong with some of you people??? Stevie Nicks, like it or not is one of the most important songwriters of all time...She is a true living legend...as far as all this washed up business is concerned..uh..the last time i checked the woman was still selling out shows..her last album back in 2001 (solo) debuted at an exceptional #3..and uh..yeah..you want to talk washed up...let's discuss britney spears..

Her best moments were in Fleetwood Mac, but she had the occasional fine solo tune now and again.

I never liked this scratchy woman.

I think in her prime she had a very cool voice...distinctive. I like her lyrics and she is a good performer. I love her music too.

She is one of the only women in rock and roll that writes her own songs, decides her own look, and has fierce control of her albums productions through the years. I have the utmost respect for her, and I love her music!

Stevie is the Queen of rock theres no doubt about that. With out Stevie My personal oppinion is that ther would be no FleetwoodMac! Stevie brought alot of people to that band and she has a loyal following. She still looks great and sounds wonderful, the older she gets the deeper her song writing seems to be. She is TIMELESS !!!!

I think she's been important to the success of Fleetwood Mac, but she's one of the worst singers I have ever heard.

I especially like the songs: Edge Of Seventeen Stand Back more than the others...

She is an amazing singer who puts such passion in her voice...

For her work with Fleetwood Mac back in the glory days alone, she's a legend. End of story.

Stevie is timeless, from her songs to her image. Her songs and lyrics are deep, heartfelt, emotional, and beautiful; though the words might seem out there to those not intune with who Stevie is and the life she's lived...those who DO know more about her will definately understand the meanings of her songs. She takes different parts of her life and turns them into musical masterpieces. And as for her image, she is to be commended for creating one that is original, visually enchanting, and actually tasteful. She is fortunate in that she is, and will be, remembered for her talent & originality...unlike many current musicians like Britney (or, as I call her, Titney) Spears, who is known for dressing like a $2 hooker & lip-synching her songs. Even singers like Jewel and Mariah Carey have joined the skank ranks, marketting their bodies instead of their albums. Stevie's image incorperates everything about her, from her songs to her chiffon & platforms, which resulted in her success as not only a talented, beautiful singer, but as a music icon. When people like Britney reach Stevie's age (56) they'll be has-beens. Stevie will never fade away.

Stevie is a beautiful, spiritually enlightened, fashionista, amazing singer/songwriter who can still rock the house at the age of 56!

Guys u dont know what you are talking about, Stevie in my opinionn looks so unique in her styling and the music of fleetwood mac has only got better since the 80s, they are back, and back for good! Stevie looks brilliant, listen to come by fleetwood mac, just a taster of what those mid 50 year olds can really do! She is a legend as is the whole group!!!!

Stevie Nicks has such depth as a singer/songwriter. Each song has such emotion. Just listen to Sara or Landslide with Fleetwood Mac. She is an amazing live performer too and hardly ever hits a wrong note.

Not a bad singer or songwriter. I like her unique sense of style, and everything about her has aged well. However, her vocal inflections are a little grating after about 5 songs in a row, which is why I prefer Fleetwood Mac to her solo albums.

Back in the day, when some of you weren't even a thought on the horizon, Ms. Nicks was "it!" Contrary to other opinions, she has aged gracefully although I did like her voice a little better back then. For those of us that remember, thanks, Stevie. To those that don't, have some respect.

She has a unique, sandpapery, type voice. And at least her music-though daffy at times-rises above the "I love you/and the sky is blue" level so often found on Top 40 radio.

Stevie Nicks is da BOMB, baby!!!! Her vocal range was lower than most men's, but her songs could still be beautifully anguished. When Courtney Love did a sneering rendition of Gold Dust Woman, I nearly puked. Stevie's version sounded way more aggressive and nasty than Courtney's lame attempt.

Stevie is a gifted writer/singer.Everyone complaining about her looks compared to what she looked like years ago should break out there own photo book from years ago! That's right all u balding beer bellie guys & all u overweight Moms.Music is art, no one can remain young & look like Brittney Spears forever. So look beneath the surface & you will find a real talented writer/singer/performer. By the way all u critics knocking her ,How many cd's do u have being sold in the music stores? Just what I thought Zippo! Rock -On -Wild-Heart!

BellaDonna was an amazing album. The next 2 were good too but i don't know what happened after that.

There's no mistaking that voice. It's got passion. I can't believe a lot of people don't like it. She's influenced a lot of important female artists: Sheryl Crow, Dixie Chicks, Courtney Love, Sarah Mclachlan, Shelby Lynn. She is a very important figure in rock and roll

Great songwriter, even if her singing is somewhat of an acquired taste. She had so many great hits with Fleetwood Mac and solo. Dreams, Rhiannon, Sara, Stop Draggin My Heart Around, Leather and Lace. She has inspired so many singers of this generation too, including Sheryl Crow.

I saw her on South Park recently, and I am happy to inform you Ms. Nicks has been happily reunited with her family in Afghanistan.

I saw on a recent South Park episode that they made fun of Stevie Nicks by comparing her voice to a goat's. I think that's exactly what she sounds like.

She has the over-played but good song "Edge of Seventeen" to her credit in her solo career.

Not bad, moving her way up.

Stevie Nicks is the Queen of Rock and Roll. People will rag on her till the day she dies, but she Does have real talent and she Does Not give a crap about what people think. Her new album "Trouble in Shangri-La" is awesome and it shows how much influence she has had over the younger rockers. Face it people, she's not going away for a while, so just enjoy the music.

Poor Stevie. She is all washed up. Weathered and worn and just abused. I really like her music and think she has a great voice but you can see in her face how all those years of partying have caught up to her. The Behind the Music of Fleetwood Mac is fascinating and it explains a lot of why Stevie isn't looking to hot lately.

She does have a unique voice and was probably a real looker back in the day. But now she wears these layers of black sheer capes or whatever they are and looks like an old witch and her hair is alwats being blown all over the place by some invisible fan that follows her around everywhere she goes. I am wriggling around like a pig in heat anxiously awaiting the next Fleetwood Mac reunion when they come back sounding even more haggard, looking even older and charging even more to sit in the auditorium.

She is so tired. To be honest, I don't understand how more aging pop stars don't end up like her - worn out, strung out, and all withered. That "rock and roll lifestyle" - and it sounds like Fleetwood Mac was notorious for it - has got to take its toll on people, and Stevie Nicks is the perfect example.
