Stryper is awesome. Michael Sweet still has that same great instrument of a voice after all these years!

This was my favorite band when I was 18 ~ won't even say how long ago THAT was!! Bottom line, to all those who hate this band ~ they were your basic 80s hair band ~ just a different message!

If it wasn't for Michael Sweet wanting to take over for Oz Fox the band may have stayed together.

This band is the whole reason I quit listening to Kiss, Motley Crue, and the other worldly music when I was in Jr. High. They showed me a band could do music in the same style as worldly entertainers, and draw kids away from that evil, and give them something positive to listen to that uplifts Jesus. They are the influence that helped me to give my life to Christ.

Probably partly responsible for the likes of Deicide and Children of Bodom.

This has got to be one of the worst Christian music groups. Even during their 15 minute fame back in the day, the music sucked like no other. Their intentions might be good, and they may even be good people at heart, but they need a new profession or a new direction in the music industry.

Stryper blends every bad hard rock cliche known into a bland, unexciting blend. They get three stars because there is legitimate talent in the band and they have had their great moments...

Stryper are a really underrated band who a lot of sad people refused to rate because "christian is not cool", or were so small-minded they let the image get in the way of the music. Their songs were pure rock, powerful, with catchy hooks and anthemic choruses. They combined blistering twin guitars, with some great complex guitar harmonies (the best since Thin Lizzy & Iron Maiden) and stunning soloes, with multi part vocal harmonies, laid over solid rocking drums. Their first album "Yellow and Black Attack" lacked good production but laid the ground; "Soldiers Under Command" was more classic Stryper. "To Hell With The Devil" was undoubtedly the best, with some classic tracks, the band at their peak. "In God We Trust" was a bit weaker, and "Against the Law" saw them go for a more conventional image, a change of sound, which ultimately flopped and the band ended. Stryper are the most successful Christian band ever, and deservedly so, great musicians, excellent song writing. Michael Sweet's solo album "Truth" is also great.

Nothing like mixing the bumble bee look with some Bible tossing into the crowd and Christian heavy metal being played. They did knock Poison out of the top video slot for a week in 1986, the the novelty wore off (and Poison rose again!). I am not exactly sure what they are up to these days, maybe some Christian hip hop and wearing Medieval garb.
