The U.N has absolutely no power and Kofi Annan has done nothing to change this. The U.S single handedly has more power than the U.N.
JackCox 10/25/2005
Good Man, he's just hated by the Reich Wing because he refuses to bend over to them.
kar54 06/11/2005
Corrupt to the bone. The worst Secretary General I can remember.
Djahuti 10/25/2004
This man has more integrity and guts than ANY politician on the planet.Carries himself with both humility and confidence.Shows both keen intelligence, seasoned wisdom and true compassion.God Bless him.
sfalconer 10/24/2004
He is the embodiment of how useless and irrelevant the U.N. has become. They pass resolution after resolution and do nothing to enforce or regulate them. If the U.N. stays on track it will fade into history like the League of Nations. I say we kick Kofi and the entire organization out and let them set up shop in Iran or Syria.
Daccory 09/29/2004
Kofi Annan isn't there to do good for the United States...he's there to do good for all countries of the U.N. An accomplished and professional statesman, Now if only he were President....
eeeeeeeee 09/16/2004
US hating mongrel dog.
bibliophile 09/03/2004
I don't know much about Annan as a politician. But he does a good job heading up a diverse body like the U.N. Not an easy task this man has.
truthordare 09/03/2004
Wouldn't you like to know his Swiss bank account number(s)? They have been the recipients of mucho dinero for many years now. A good chunk of it came from Saddam Insane. Ask yourself what good thing has he done for the United States?
numbah16tdhaha 08/09/2004
Make a speech and do nothing. This is the U.N. these days.
BIGBABY 07/16/2004
The biggest supporter of terrorists and brutal regimes to date.
jaywilton 07/16/2004
Terrible. If the UN were moved to Sudan,he would still be oblivious to the everyday evil-slavery and mass murder-that takes place there and concern himself with passing resolutions against Israel.
ClassicTVFan47 06/26/2004
A weak-kneed politican who has multiple genocides on his watch. Not only did he oppose the liberation of Iraq (in the operation formerly known by the awesome title of Operation Infinite Justice), he has done nothing about the brutal slaughters in Somalia and in Sudan. I also have a feeling he was involved with the corrupt Oil-For-Food program that convinced France, Germany, and Russia not to support the just cause of the Coalition in freeing a repressed people and stopping a dangerous madman. Annan should be given the boot.
ernesta 06/13/2004
AMERICAN HATING, COMMIE CAN'T COME TO GRIPS WITH HIS OWN IRRELEVENCY.
ANSGARD 06/08/2004
this guy's an asshole, he just makes me angry. if he wants to help people, why doesnt he put his money then? he is a commie...sucks
rv8pilot 05/17/2004
kofi annan is a crook. his son is a crook, and his buddy sevan is a crook. the un should take the money they stole from the oil for food program back.
robespierre 03/31/2004
Kofi Annan has the blood of hundreds of thousands of Rwandans on his soul. He does not turn himself in to the Hague as a war criminal. He wants to call others criminals but not accept his own punishment. He is the worst Sec. Gen. except for one: Boutros Ghali. Kofi Annan would sacrifice the entire West to Islamic madness, so long as he gets to keep his European wife. Apparently African women are not good enough for him.
Jed1000 03/24/2004
Enkidu makes an important point that I don't see often enough in print. That is, that the UN can only be as effective as its most powewrful member (the US) allows it to be. Kofi Annan has to keep an awful lot of plates spinning to please everyone and he does a pretty good job at it.
Enkidu 03/23/2004
A fine and principled man, who unfortunately has a job herding cats. The organization he heads has a history of varying effectiveness--often directly related to how much support it gets from the United States. Kofi has done a pretty good job of keeping the various bickering members together in spite of the sometimes immature behavior of its most powerful member.
volksdriver 03/23/2004
I would give him a ZERO if it were possible. The UN is commie, socialist NEW WORLD ORDER FILTH!!! Mr. Annan is a prime example of this hate-freedom, hate national sovereignty garbage. This cabal of elitists has one goal...Dissolve national sovereignty, bring in the NWO. Not just in the US, EVERYWHERE!! Annan is a disgrace to humanity, masquerading as a humanitarian. Get the UN out of the US and the US out of the UN!!!!!! NOW!!!!!
mario f gordan 02/10/2004
A Socialist, who use to have a seat in a socialist dictatorship.
Teaseress 12/31/2003
No Noah and all you others: you lot didn't elect him, your UN representative and others have. No, he is not Anti American, if he was I doubt that he would hold such an important role. The UN isn't just about America - its about the entire bloody world! If you actually want to base your opinions in fact, try actually reading about what this man has done and then see what you think. Try reading this first: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/1411047.s tm
OrganizedChaos 02 12/31/2003
Just like almost every politician outside the U.S. (and in)...he's a liberal communist who would love nothing more than the downfall of the American system of liberty and freedom.

President -X-D 10/13/2003
The leader of the UN, Annan or anyone else, acts as a mouthpiece for dictatorships. The UN has one criteria for becoming a member: you must be a nation. Period. Not a free nation, not a non-socialist, not non-communist, not non-dictatorship, simply a "nation". This means that criminal states like Iraq, Syria, Lybia, and North Korea have equal say in human rights, individual rights, and world policies. The UN wants to form their own militray and collect taxes the world over. I want no part of them and neither should the freedom loving nations of this world. Sorry, Lybia as the director of the UN human rights council is a crime. If you remember your history, never has the US asked for UN "approval" of their military actions until Bush Sr. changed protocol and asked the UN for advice on the Kuwait situation. His actions were unprecedented; the US has no need to ask anyone's permission to defend themselves.
abichara 10/13/2003
I think that Kofi Annan, all things considered, tries to balance out competing concerns in the UN. I think though that the organization needs some more retroactive leadership. This guy doesn't want to touch the structure of the Security Council, which is a relic of the Cold War. Come on, give countries of more consequence like Japan a seat! Annan has his viewpoints, but he tries to strive for balance in the debate by listening to all sides of an argument.
StanUzbeck 09/13/2003
I don't have any particular respect for the man, but where do you people get off calling him anti-American? If anything, I think he is being too accomodating of the Bush regime. We need a UN leader who is strong and who doesn't pussyfoot around trying to please everybody. The reason most of the world hates the US these days is because of attitudes like those present on this website, that if you aren't 100% for us doing whatever we want then you are either irrelevant or our enemy. The US needs to grow up and stop being so pig-ignorant and bull-headed about the 95% of the world's population that aren't American.
37102002 09/10/2003
I think he means well, but he heads an organization with no real power to do anything.
Killbot9000 08/23/2003
Stupid pompous meaningless man.

Kofi is a man who truely wants peace, learn about him.

The U.N. is a joke.Kofi Annan is the unelected leader of an unelected body which from its start has been the wet dream of Leftwing Socialists and Tyrannts. Kofi comes from the failed State of Ghana which has to make you question his experience wwith peace and prosperity. The best thing about the United Nations is that those blue helmets make great targets at my rifle range. Hey U.N. ! You want our guns? Molon Laabe!!!! Bring it on Ladies

In a time when "the world" should be united but actually ends up fragmented...I would hope that a strong man (or woman if that would have been the case) would be able to keep everyone together. I still have confidence in Kofi, but I guess we will have to wait and see
trishbn5 03/19/2003
Got his nobal peace price by being anti-american. Worked in many islamic countries. Is he a socialist? Is he a muslim?

Anti-American
anmalone 02/08/2003
A non-entity's non-entity. A man of no use or import who runs a meaningless collective of whiney socialist trash.
gmanod 12/22/2002
An excellent honest and upstanding man, people seem to forget that his job is not to be a pawn for the US, but calling him anti-american for not being a pawn is just completely uneducated about the reality of the world. His job is to lead an organization that unites the world and attempts to help the little guy getting screwed. He does a good job and has helped millions of people. If you disagree then send me a personal message.
Shukhevych 12/08/2002
I don't like the UN period. I believe in the US constitution, not the UN Charter. Kofi's rule hasn't been spectacular.
Bulldog98 10/17/2002
How quickly this joke of a man forgets! Just a few years ago he was picking fleas off other primitive africans in a festering hut. I guess collecting rice from Sally Struthers wasn't a grand enough style of living off the idealistic and gullible for him, so he laid down his spear and lip-plate to become the head of an international debate club. I'll give him credit though... He managed to move from a land time left behind to the greatest city in the world without any discernible talent other than the ability to play off of peoples' sympathies and desires to feel good about themselves by giving "an unfortunate" a break.
zeev 06/17/2001
In my opinion he was a good leader until he started his campaign to be re-elected as the head of the UN (United Nothings). When he started this campaign, he also started to support the hsotile Arabs states surrounding Israel, just to be able to get their votes and support for his campaign. It's not a manner of a statesman!!
noah 02/01/2001
I don't recall electing him Head of the New World Order. The U.S. should get out of the U.N. ASAP. Kofi Annan, and his UN compatriots, are bent on destroying US sovereignty, and creating a world government. Keep in mind that the leading cause of death in the 20th century was government.
psyc2717om 12/10/1999
