he's the kind of person we should have in office sorry he is doing other things
williamb 05/12/2006
I live in New Jersey and he was our senator. The only time you ever saw him or heard from him was election time, but that seems to be the history of Jersey politicians. He originally got elected because he played on the championship Knicks team!
United States 01/22/2006
Good, intellect. He was a great United States Senator for many years. He should have ran for President in 1988 or in 2004.
abichara 07/23/2005
Highly intelligent, Bradley would have probably made a decent president had he won the prize in 2000. He lacked charisma somewhat, even compared to his former opponent Al Gore, but an objective analysis shows that Bradley would have been able to hold his own in high office given that many of his ideas were sound. Probably should have run earlier or at least stayed in public office; today we just don't see a whole lot of him.
GOPmember76 07/23/2005
Senator Bradley was a very thoughtful and serious individual. Would have been better than Algore any day.
GenghisTheHun 07/11/2005
Have you ever listen to a Bradley speech? Booooring!
James76255 02/26/2005
He should have stuck to basketball.
fierce_pajamas 10/19/2004
What a great jumpshot.
casapulla 09/20/2004
Here's a man that should have been a 2-term President (right now) if the Dem Party has any kind of backbone. Even sports stars didn't support him -- and now the Dem candidate has a wife born & raised in racial segregation and Apartheid... Shame on the Dem Party for depriving us of an intelligent, focused and authentic leader.
marcm9999 07/08/2004
A stumblebum and naive leftist.
John McCain 06/28/2004
Boring, but agree with his positions.
Opie Onion 05/19/2004
Stands tall for every man and woman's freedom and opportunity, which is exactly what made America a great country. I only wish he had more political ambition than he seems to have. But maybe it's being such a positive force that has caused his tempered ambition.
jgls 01/29/2004
a good man, but an argument can be made that he is more dull than al gore.
Moosekarloff 08/20/2003
Intelligent and ethical, he's one of the few people to serve in the Senate over the past two decades with real hands-on familiarity with the issues and the rare ability to actually think through his positions. Policy maven who seriously lacks the charisma to excite the voters, although he does command respect, and for good reason. This guy, if he's still interested in public service, should be in the diplomatic corps, as obviously he's not interested in the top slot for the 2004 elections
kira0608 07/19/2003
Oh my, Bill Bradley is sooooo smart.
Ed Konstantellis 07/05/2003
jWas touted as "Cranial" by the media. Turns out his SAT scores didn't even break 980
DrFeelgood03 05/28/2003
Basketball players need to play basketball and retire.....
Redoedo 04/26/2003
Bill Bradley seems to be a man of integrity and honesty. His record in the Congress is pretty exemplary with his education and Health Care initiatives, not to mention his economic proposals. A true-blue liberal. However, I really think that he should stay in the Senate because I do not think that he is electable as he is very much TOO liberal for me.
Touch 04/01/2003
One of the more outstanding American's of today. Here's hoping he re-runs for the Presidency.
anmalone 02/08/2003
Over tall dolt.
Shukhevych 12/08/2002
He was an unimpressive politician... and basketball player.
uhuru 11/12/2002
A solid guy !
thornvv 03/20/2002
Over-rated never was.
ellajedlicka21 09/29/2001
I really wish that he could've beaten Gore in the primary because he is so intelligent and would have beaten Bush. He was a great basketball player as well.
ejsteff 07/09/2001
Phony scumbag; talks about campaign finance reform and was in the pockets of big contributing interests like chemical and pharmaceutical companies. Read "Buying of the President 2000" .
Jean-Michel 06/26/2001
I support Bill Bradley 100%. He stands for the working people of the United States, and he is honest and fair. More politicians should look at him and learn from his example. I really blows my mind how people can vote for G.Dubya Bush for President, and not Bill Bradley. It makes you wonder why these morons are walking around free!
Rusty 06/11/2001
We need to remember that this man talks out of both sides of his mouth. Rhetorically speaking, how is Bradley any different than a politician who accepts soft-money contributions to keep his political career going, with some of those monies coming from corporations who dump toxins and cram landfills? Bradley used his superb physical talents to play basketball for Princeton and for the Knicks, and maximized his brainpower to get an Oxford scholarship. Why Bradley is seen as someone with his hands as soft as Dove soap amazes me. He was an above-average politician who excelled at fund-raising throughout New Jersey, Washington, D.C. and with help from the DNC. How did he benefit the people of New Jersey, I ask you? Please remember that just because someone labels themselves a Democrat does not necessarily mean they give a rat's ass about the working people. Bradley's been around well-to-do social circles and academically elite people for most of his life. Is Bradley any better than Florio? Todd Whitman? Torricelli? Corzine? Payne? Roukema? Roe? Pallone? Zimmer? We all need to be careful who we vote for and really question who they are and to whom they are beholden to. Politics does not mean you are above the law.
titicat 04/21/2001
He is the one person who came out of that area with no bad press. They now after all they have been through have lung cancer to contend with . Hats off to them both
Coconuts 03/27/2001
He was probably the most Presidential of the Democrat candidates and yet the Democrats turned away from him in favor of Al Gore. As a Republican it would not have hurt me to see as President, as long as there were a lot of Republicans elected to Congress to balance him out.
Dawg1995 03/27/2001
Smart man, but shouldn't have challenged Al Gore for the Democratic nomination.
Prince Wen 03/21/2001
Bill Bradley is far too gentle a giant to be accepted by the present American voting populace. He'd make a great, smart, President, but like Jimmy Carter and Adalai Stevenson, his demeanor is, unfortunately, too subtle for our times. Katie. V.
HotTukous84 03/12/2001
Bill Bradley may be boring. But he has heart, and spirit, and integrity. I agree with him on near everything, and hope him the best. Go Bill. Fight for what you believe, I believe in you
Arcadion 03/11/2001
*sigh* What might have been...No, Bradley wouldn't have beaten the Dubya machine. The Dems had to go with Gore, it was our only chance. But Bradley- a man with integrity, a true liberal- people say liberal as if it's a BAD thing? I find it refreshing! When I finally get to vote, it'll be all about Bradley 2004!
yitta2626 02/15/2001
I don't know much about him, but one thing I do know, he's extremely caring and truthful.
CaptainSank 02/02/2001
Bill Bradley is an anti-military, lazy, and self-grandizing looser who can best serve his constituency by staying out of politics. He consistently led his counterparts as being in the top 5 most absent politians year in and year out. As a former neighbor or Bradley, I can best comment on his worth by stating that I will never chance being his neighbor again.
phoebe 01/19/2001
Even now, this guy plays basketball better than politics.
rpasfield 01/14/2001
I am very surprised he is a democrat.
SCarlson22 12/18/2000
Bill is the first honest, educated, as well as experienced politician to run for President in a long time. He has the intelligence of Senator Moynihan and Byrd---while also being able to relate to the common voter...I'm proud I was able to volunteer on his campaign in New Hampshire...it will be one of the most rememberable moments as a college student.
Bosefus 12/16/2000
Flip flopped after lost primary,,,, poor character
drough 12/11/2000
Not only don't I like Bradley, I really dislike his wife. She makes me sad to have a German heritage which I pride greatly, and she more or less promotes blackmailing Germany's young for crimes commited by the old. My Father came here in 1948 from Germany should I also be paying money to Israel other then when I go to a Speilberg movie?
lite530 11/24/2000
Al Gore makes Bill Bradley look so good.
mattiewhitenyc 11/22/2000
A man that our country would be lucky to have as President. Let's all hope he'll return in 20__!
Joyce Sherman 11/17/2000
The only compassionate presidential candidate by the two major parties. Had he won the democratic nomination, I would have voted democratic instead of libertarian.
lady magnolia 11/03/2000
He was a terrible senator, but he would have been better than Al Gore as the candidate for president. At least he didn't stand besides Clinton and say "he is the greatest president ever"
Vicky5 10/20/2000
He's still a liberal with a wacko idealist agenda. We need a realist and it's not Bradley or Gore.
GuidingAngel 09/09/2000
Mr. Bradley's continued support for Princeton University after the appointment of a man who advocaates euthanasia for disabled persons and teaches that any human can become a non-person with the onset of a cognitive disability is disturbing to say the least. I don't think this makes Mr. Bradley a man of conviction, but rather a person who sees no value in people who live with disabilities. Not so, Mr. Bradley! We are voters and we have your measure!
qoly9465om 08/07/2000
Not nearly as "Liberal" as the voters and press seemed to make him. A regular centrist democrat. Nothing to write home about.
ejt86766om 05/17/2000
I don't understand why anyone would be overly fond of this guy. He's nice enough, but he's much too liberal for what is healthy. And I don't think he has a clue about foreign policy.
s.e@4181om 03/08/2000
I agree with anonymous (1/21), and that's why I give him a one. He's not an outsider---he has a long political history---a record that's there for all to see. They all do...check them out. We shouldn't support someone because they 'look like a nice guy'. Any actor can do that...and politicians ARE actors. I think Bradley and McCain are getting Perot's people...folks who judge by appearances, by charisma (or in the case of Bradley, anti-charisma). I don't want to vote FOR any of them, but I will vote AGAINST the republican party. Neither party represents the people, but I think the GOP is further from us. Their support of corporations will do us no good at all...will harm us. These corporations have given us nothing but pollution, untested foods and medicines, a military budget that eclipses all domestic services, low wages and long hours, privatized prisons that will get inmates any way they can, and a record of worker abuse all over the planet...just to mention a few. Enter 'genetic engineering' into any search engine and see how much the world means to corporations!
