A brilliant mind and a true American patriot.

Yeah, let's privatize the sidewalks. Somebody once remarked on the difference between anarchists and libertarians. Anarchists believe that property is theft, while libertarians believe that everything is property.

Ride into the sunset, Harry.

There is nothing that Harry Browne says that does not make total sense if one believes we live in a Constitutional Republic. If one feels we live in a socialist or fascist state, then you would find his comments repulsive. Libertarians are for LIBERTY as long as one does not encroach on another person or their property. Otherwise, government should stay out of our lives, only doing what is reqired in the Constitution.

Government is the problem not the solution. No doubt.

Harry Browne recognizes that freedom in our country has been diminished greatly since the birth of our nation. I read his book, Why Government Doesn't Work and agree with him on most issues. It would be a dream if he became leader of our country. I like government as small as possible with as little tax as possible. Washington is too inefficient. Today's America is nothing like what the foudning fathers envisioned. He is the only candidate that can turn our country around and put a stop to our ever growing government.

Harry Browne, the Libertarian candidate for President in 2000, makes some interesting points about the role of government in our lives today. Interesting social commentator, I usually read his articles when he writes one up.

i might be a libertarian if people were more responsible. but they aren't.
thearmbarkid 04/27/2003
Harry Browne rules! Gee, a government that allows people to choose a lifestyle that is right for them, and live with the consequences! What a concept! I know it scares the welfare-loving Republocrat party, but it's the only way this nation won't fall apart.
anmalone 02/16/2003
Who the hell is Harry Browne? Oh right he's a libertine Republican. This is the party of the cheap liberals. They have all the same principals as the left but they don't want to pay for the consequences of those beliefs or even require anybody else to pay as well. The left on the other hand want somebody else beside themselves to pay for their problems. In the case the Libertines (By the way this isn't a typo) are little more honest.

Smart guy.... but libertarian stance on social/mnoral issues is terrible. Otherwise he is dead on on foreign policy and economics.
Stephan86 12/04/2002
A GREAT LIBERTARIAN WITH GREAT IDEALS. IF ONLY YOU FOLKS WOULD BACK HIM MORE, WE JUST MIGHT HAVE A WONDERFUL NATION TO SPEAK OF.
benfergy 11/20/2001
He's got many good ideas to be implimented in to the government. He was probably the best choice for president last year and I voted for him. Still, he had little impact in reaching voters who aren't yet with the libertarian party.

Harry Browne is totally right. I hate not being allowed to pollute the air as I choose, or pay my workers less than minimum wage. I hate having to pay taxes just so that some poor janitor's daughter can learn to read; she should be working in my factory-but that is illegal too! And, what good, may I ask, do regulations that prevent my banks from risking all of the middle class's money in unsafe investments do? And who remembers the Great Depression anyway? The best thing about Harry Browne is that he gets alot of poor people to vote for him because he wants to legalize drugs, even though there are plenty of other parties that want to do that.

If more people would of voted for Harry Browne, WE won't be in this mess. I hope next time more people will vote something otherthan, the typical politician's The ASS or the Elephant, This country needs a change and we need to dump the Republican and democratic platforms. Stop wasting our tax dollars and vote for the Green party of the Libatrian party, or no part at all. I am sick of the policticians wasting our tax dollars. Just like Clinton how many dallors did it take to get to the truth of things... sure I never had sex with that woman..... well lets face it, sure it would be Hard to turn down a BJ. But he could be honest about and not cost the america people so many tax dallors. This was the most expensive BJ in history. Now Monica has been paid millions. GET rid of them all and get a real man for a president, Harry Browne for 2004

I remember the summer of '92 when Mr. Harry Brown said, and this is quote: " We should all be happy when we know we're hairy!"

The idea of self-government is one that the American people need to consider. For more info go to www.self-gov.org Don't forget to take the World's Smallest Politcal Quiz.

As a big-time libertarian, I consider the Libertarian Party a total waste of time. There are much better ways to get involved in changing the climate of ideas. But as far as politicians go, Browne is better than anyone else in terms of his ideas.
prai989et 01/20/2000
America's number one dweeb. With money.
jora2363et 12/02/1999
more or less OK on issues but, as Libertarian, advocates too little government or too lassez-faire.
