 | Drummond (58) 04/11/2006 | Hilary C. chewed him up and spit out the bones. He really messed the debate up - not that he had a chance. Her campaign was one of the best oiled in history, active in even the most conservative of upstate counties delivering for her a surprising number of Republican votes.

 | GenghisTheHun (173) 04/11/2006 | One shot wonder who badly missed the brass ring. He will drop from sight and never be heard from again.
He was a congressman from a Long Island congressional district. He sought higher office but lost.

 | Moosekarloff (18) 05/30/2003 | The NY State GOP really scraped the bottom of the barrel when they came up with this idiot. I laughed by butt off on Election Night after watching the crappy and weak campaign he ran against the drooler-hated H. Clinton result in his getting crushed at the polls. Maybe the simplistic, reductive ideology of the GOP and the bullying tactics the rightwingers typically employ in campaigns work in the drooler states of the midwest, high plains, southeast and southwest, but here in the civilized northeast, the people have brains and recognize Lazio for the loser he is. American life would improve vastly if the morons in the rest of the country followed the lead of voters in New York State.

 | Redoedo (40) 04/26/2003 | Rick Lazio gets 3 stars from me for simply being a free thinker who does not let his political party dictate his own beliefs. However, during the elections, he seemed unwilling to reveal his centric beliefs such as his belief in a woman's right to choose and his environmental views, not to mention gun control views. He seems to be an honest man of dedication and conviction who is merely on the wrong side of the aisle.

 | JTree (0) 02/24/2003 | What hath God wrought? A real loser. When the senate campaign started, this man had the election in the bag and blew it. The results are too horrible to contemplate.

 | Rusty (0) 06/12/2001 | Poor Ricky. Talk about having no chance against a well-orchestrated, well-funded campaign organization. I felt sorry for him having to wage a spirited campaign against one of the most well-known figures on the planet. He really seemed like a genuine, nice guy, with a well-meaning campaign---until he stalked across the aisle to Hillary's podium during a televised debate, stuck his skinny finger in her face and demanded she sign an acknowledgement. The minute I saw that spectacle unfold, the New York State Senate race was all but over. I felt that he would have been better concentrating on his Long Island constituents. He certainly knew them better than anyone east of Mineola. He made only a half-hearted attempt to visit upstate NY, because he, as well as the rest of the Re-smug-licans, knew the score: he simply didn't stand a chance in a state that, for better or worse, is one of the more progressive states in the Union when it comes to diversity, education, health care, tolerance of minorities' viewpoints, womens' issues and is a bastion of liberal, free-spirited, tolerant views. Little Ricky did the smart thing and acquiesced to a strong woman who can help ALL New Yorkers, and not just nouveau-riche Re-smug-licans such as Lazio.

 | Capt. America (0) 10/19/2000 | Rick Lazio has never written any of the laws he has taken credit for. He is just a puppet of the Republican political machine in New York, a smiling face. Just like many of the Republicans in New York he has catered to the wealthy whenever possible, and has cut benefits to the poor whenever possible. The people of New York deserve better.
